Très bel hôtel haut de gamme.
Pros:

Chambre très confortable, calme et personnel aux petits soins et très professionnel. Espace SPA haut de gamme. Vue mer et plage privative top.

Cons:

Juste une info à savoir: hors saison rien n'est ouvert dans la petite station balnéaire à côté. Il faut impérativement une voiture pour visiter les alentours.

Honest Family Review – A Hidden Gem in Italy

A true hidden gem that is hard to describe in words—the “wow effect” stays with you from arrival until the very last day.

The hotel location is simply breathtaking. A true hidden gem that is hard to describe in words—the “wow effect” stays with you from arrival until the very last day.
The staff are extremely friendly, professional, and surprisingly fluent in English (which is quite rare in this region of Italy). They are respectful of your privacy, very caring with children, and always willing to help. The maintenance team is impressively available even at night, and housekeeping is thorough and supportive.
The restaurant is well organised and clean. The team is sharp, although you sometimes need to be a bit persistent—just part of the Italian culture. Dinner is very good, with a small menu that changes daily. You can check the menu around noon before booking, which is a great system.
Breakfast is fresh, clean, and of good quality. One important tip: you can order additional items from the kitchen, which many tourists don’t realise.
Lunch is a real highlight, with two different kitchen styles in one place and very fair prices. The calamari and fries, chicken cotoletta, and lobster spaghetti are highly recommended.
The pool is excellent—heated, saltwater, very clean, and safe for children, with a lifeguard present. It has a real spa-like atmosphere.
The sea was a bit cold, but clear and generally safe. We enjoyed snorkelling, fishing, and spearfishing. One of our favourite moments was grilling our catch on the beach with the kids.
Do not worry about negative reviews—we had read some before arriving, but they did not reflect our experience at all.
A small tip: tipping is appreciated, as wages are lower in the region, and prices at the hotel are very fair. Also, pricing is transparent—no difference between locals and tourists.
Special thanks to Francesco (restaurant), Mara, Angelica, and Marco (reception), Antonio and the beach bar team, and especially Daniello, the manager, for his leadership and the great atmosphere he creates.
Overall, a warm and high-quality experience with excellent service, a stunning location, and a very family-friendly environment.

Beautiful beach, limited sea view from rooms
Pros:

Location is beautiful. Very nice beach. Negative was that I had paid a higher price for a nicer room with supposedly sea view, but there was very limited sea view. Dont believe the pictures on their web site. And the restaurant has the charme of an university canteen. But otherwise very lovely place.

Három éjszakát töltöttünk a szállodában, két szobát béreltünk. Igényességet, professzionalitást, hatékony szervezettséget és szívélyes vendéglátást tapasztaltunk. A szobák igényesek, tágasak (mivel szezon előtti ottlétünkkor nem volt teltház, upgradelték is az egyik szobánkat, hogy közel lehessünk egymáshoz). A személyzet nagyon kedves, profi, a takarítótól a recepción át az éttermi dolgozókig. Bár mi egy nagyon kedvező árú, last-minute jellegű áron foglaltuk a szállást, fenti véleményünk helytálló lenne ennek hiányában is. A szállás igénybevételéhez - főleg ha valaki szereti a környéket is bejárni (pl Tropea) - autó bérlése indokoltnak tűnik. A wellness napi két óra idejére vehető igénybe, amiben mi nem a korlátozást láttuk, hanem a vendégtömeg jó strukturálását. Ajánlom mindenkinek.

Cons:

Nem volt ilyen. Minket nem zavart egyáltalán, hogy esti városi sétálgatáshoz autózni kellett. Szezonban feltehetőleg nagyobb a nyüzsgés, több hely van nyitva a környéken, emellett vacsorára a szálloda éttermében is lehetőség van, ha valaki nem akar kimozdulni.

Das Capo Vaticano Resort Talasso & Spa überzeugt vor allem mit einem herausragenden Frühstück. Die Auswahl ist wirklich beeindruckend: von frischen Backwaren über verschiedene Wurst- und Käsesorten bis hin zu Eierspeisen, Joghurt, Müsli und süßen Spezialitäten – hier ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Alles ist qualitativ hochwertig und sehr lecker.

Auch das Personal ist durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Man fühlt sich jederzeit gut betreut und willkommen.

Die Anlage selbst ist stilvoll gestaltet und vermittelt einen gehobenen, luxuriösen Eindruck.

Cons:

Das Capo Vaticano Resort Talasso & Spa ist insgesamt ein sehr teures Hotel, insbesondere das Restaurant steht in keinem guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Portionen sind sehr klein, und da es täglich wechselnde Karten gibt, ist man stark auf das angewiesen, was angeboten wird.

Gerade außerhalb der Saison ist die Lage schwierig, da in der Umgebung kaum etwas geöffnet hat. Dadurch bleibt einem oft nichts anderes übrig, als im Hotel zu essen.

Das Personal ist zwar sehr freundlich, daran gibt es nichts auszusetzen – allerdings wirkt das gesamte Hotelkonzept eher kühl und wenig einladend. Es soll ein nobles, exklusives Ambiente vermitteln, wirkt dabei aber eher distanziert und wenig gemütlich.

Besonders im Spa-Bereich fiel auf, dass es unangenehm kalt war. Trotz Bademantel und Handtuch hat man teilweise gefroren, da es zieht und keine wirkliche Wohlfühlatmosphäre entsteht. Auch die Liegen sind zwar optisch modern, aber sehr unbequem (Plastikliegen ohne Auflagen), sodass echtes Entspannen kaum möglich ist.

Insgesamt hinterlässt das Hotel eher einen elitären und kühlen Eindruck, statt ein Ort zu sein, an dem man sich wirklich wohlfühlt und entspannen kann.

Pros:

Fantastic stay at Capovaticano Resort! If you are looking for pure relaxation, this is the place. The sea salt pools and thalasso spa were highlights of our trip, and having direct private beach access made the coastal experience seamless.
Our accommodations were excellent—the rooms are spacious, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the rain showers provided a spa-like feel right in the room. Even though we hit some rainy weather, the resort’s amenities kept us entertained; the outdoor pool was a huge hit with the kids and kept them happy despite the clouds.

Cons:

My only notes for improvement involve the dining experience. I’d rate the food a 6/10; while decent, it lacked the authentic Calabrian variety and bold local flavors I was expecting. Additionally, the breakfast buffet felt a bit repetitive and could benefit from a more diverse selection to match the high standard of the rest of the resort.

Le ragazze alla reception sono state fantastiche, gentilissime e super disponibili. La camera era enorme e pulitissima, impreziosita da un panorama mozzafiato; il bagno, altrettanto spazioso e moderno, era impeccabile, con un'ottima pressione dell'acqua e temperatura perfetta.

Momento di relax perfetto alla SPA, grazie anche ai preziosi consigli del personale sul percorso da seguire. Ottima anche la cena: il Maître e i camerieri sono stati super gentili, rendendo la serata davvero piacevole con i piatti dello chef squisiti.

Per chi come me viaggia molto per lavoro, trovare un ambiente dove sentirsi così a proprio agio non è scontato. Tutto lo staff ha contribuito a rendere questa permanenza speciale. Ci sono stato per impegni professionali, ma tornerò senz'altro per un fine settimana di vacanza!
