SureStay Hotel by Best Western Buena Park Anaheim

Very clean and friendly

Whew. I don't even know where to begin. Usually the name "Best Western" refers to a certain level of quality. My dad booked this location through their company website for our family trip. This was a mistake.

Positives:
-AC worked well
- Location is a short drive from Medieval Times, Portos (iykyk), and both a Target and Walmart
-Staff was friendly

Cons:
-Dirty laminate floors (we're shoes off people and our socks turned black quickly)
-Only 3 sorry excuses for pillows per bed and requests to the front desk for more were denied (
-Only sheets and a thin blanket on each bed; no comforters or duvets; blankets had cigarette burn holes
-A circulating number of towels that never exceeded 3 for our party of 4 (the first day we had 3 bath towels and 2 hand towels, but no wash clothes. The second day we had wash clothes but no hand towels. The third day we had no towels and had to call the front desk before we could shower)
-No hand soap upon arrival and when we asked for hand soap, we were given body wash. Housekeeping left a single bar the second day but there was no soap dish.
-Mirrors and furniture had noticeable dust and smudges
-The pool was dirty, full of debris, including 3 in long grasshoppers
-Hot tub's water was sea foam green from algae overgrowth (not the tile)
-We literally got stuck in the elevator (doors closed, no way to get out) When we used the emergency call button we were connected to the front desk, not emergency services and were initially hung up upon
-After getting stuck we noticed the elevator has no posted notice of inspection and clearance by the county (all elevators must be inspected and post inspection papers in California)
-Continental breakfast was "meh" After 6 people ate it was almost gone and not replenished. And the door to the microwave literally pulled off in my hands when trying to make instant oatmeal

Stay somewhere else!! Three pillows to a bed. Linens that smell. Twin-size sheet on a King bed. Green water in the hot tub. Body wash and shampoo are not replenished. Washcloths are not given out every day. The TV had only about 15 channels, and the numbers did not match the channel guide that had about 30 channels. Meager continental breakfast choices with a trash can outside the hotel for waste. And the elevator was broken down. Motel 6 would have been much better.

I like the area it was in.

They handed us towels at the front desk to bring to our room (we didn't check in until about 9:30 pm). There were no chairs in the room, only beds. The TV didn't work. After a few calls to the front desk we got an office chair but it took 3 remotes and about a half hour to finally get the TV to work on a few stations. While the man was helpful, there really was no excuses. Just kept saying maintenance did not inform them of any issues. We asked for some kind of discount and were told no. When we made a complaint to Best Western they gave us points. Will never stay there again, even though it was close to Knotts Berry Farm and we have season passes.
