Where to begin?? This place was amazing from the minute we arrived to the moment we left.
Booking in we were greeted by, I believe, the manager. He couldn't do enough for us.
Breakfast something for everyone and staff pleasant.
Room was cleaned every single day even Sunday. Beds were extremely comfortable.
Checkout was smooth and we left our cases in the luggage room for the day. Only suggestion I would make there is to put a cctv camera in this room as many do in other complexes/hotels.
Well done to everyone, hopefully we will be revisiting soon
Lovely stay. stayed for a week the room amenities were lovely little kitchen and balcony. Only slight annoyance was our double bed was two singles that moved away from each other during the night. The pool deck was lovely and a modest size pool was very deep and big enough for al the guests at that time. Also there was another seating area where we sat with cocktails in the early evening. Staff were nice and helpful, and location was very central with bis stops just outside. We would definitely consider staying again
Came here for a month guests with a group of friends then three weeks so lovely hotel both in sea view room, excellent food options, friendly staff especially Maya, Raohoul and Justin. Daily housekeeping service if needed or ‘do not disturb’ for sustainability for which I choose every three days. Ask housekeeping for tea/coffee etc. Beach and Peppi’s restaurant opposite. Bus service excellent 2 euros each way in winter or 2.50 euros in summer or buy weekly ticket which works out cheaper but chose bus time carefully as can be very, very busy at prime times but it adds to the experience of a holiday. Plenty to see and do and Gozo is gorgeous as well as Valletta with its turbulent history. Guided tours fantastic with Anna. Musical concerts 13 euros every Tuesday at Lady of our Victory church in Valletta - excellent. Cannon in Upper Barracks fires off at noon and 4pm - very noisy. Had a lovely time at hotel although terrace pool not open until April/May but heated indoor pool available in basement. Overall a very pleasant experience and booked to return in October.
I've only just arrived. Room is tiny. I booked a double room but I've got 2 single beds It also smells from the restaurants below. I was hoping it would be a place relax but I was wrong.
Would have rated this 5 out of 5. First 3 nights was nice and peaceful. Good rooms lovely views over the bay. Then a school party arrived and hell broke lose. Kids running around the corridors shouting knocking on doors at 2:30 am. Had get up and tell them to go to sleep as other people were sleeping. Complained to manager the next morning. Happened again the next night. Duty manager had to move us to a quiet part of the hotel. Spoiled our last 2 nights. Other than that its a beautiful hotel, breakfast was a lot to choose from. Staff were nice and friendly. Word of warning don't use the local buses unless you want to be squeezed like sardines. We used Bolt similar to Uber.
Stayed in a studio apartment. Balcony was small but had a great seaview, right on the seafront. Furnishings were basic but comfirtable and the apartment was large and spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchenette and large bathroom with bath and seperate shower. Maid service every day with regular changes of bedding and towels. Stayed on B&B basis with a good selection for breakfast. Staff very friendly. More of a couples hotel, rather than for families with young children as there weren't any facilities for them or any beaches nearby.
Would happily stay there again.
Simply the best going above & beyond Nazam the duty manager Numa & Bijay at receition breakfast team Maya Omega Justin & Suneen. Sylavana you & all your team i thank you from the bottom of my heart look no further this is the hotel to stay until the next timexxjanet jackson room 227 😘
Our fourth visit to this hotel and we still can't fault it. For a 3 star, it is better than several 4 star hotels I have statyed in. Our room had a seaview with a wrap round balcony giving us two perspectives. The room was a little smaller than one we had on our previous visit but all we use it for is sleep and getting ready to go out. Ideal.
Had a great stay over Christmas
Great location with easily available transport link.
Staff were very friendly (Reception staff - Roshmi was very helpful and professional)
Would definitely recommend to family and freinds
Hotel was clean and tidy and staff very polite and happy to engage in conversation.
The location was handy as there were bus stops nearby and outside.
We booked a standard room, Seaview, with balcony, high floor. We were upgraded upon check in to a deluxe Seaview, balcony but on floor 3 only thing disappointed was the view was blocked by trees.
Breakfast was good with good selection.
If you have mobility issues there are stairs up to the entrance so could be a challenge.
Rooms - the room was great only downsides were climbing into the bath for a shower, the bath was very slippy boarding on dangerous standing to take a shower.
The mattresses could do with being replaced as the corners had exposed frame/metal.
The bottom sheet wasn't long enough for the mattress ?
Would i stay here again properly yes due to the location.
Hotel is very clean and modern and has excellent friendly staff
We had a beautiful view from our front facing room with balcony
We knew from research that there would be no
tea making facility’s
( some rooms have )so we took our own travel kettle
Room was warm and serviced everyday
To find the entrance to hotel you have to walk down a path through a outdoor seating
restaurant
Turn left out of hotel walk 5 min and there is a very small beach
Bus stop is just as you step out of hotel and there are buses to most places on the island
We paid 25 euro each for a weekly bus pass which we purchased from the buss stand near selima ferry
bus 222 outside hotel to cirkewwa then ferry across to Gozo 4.65 euro return
A pleasant stay at this busy hotel. Small but comfortable rooms, needed to ask for additional towels. Helpful staff and perfect location if you want to explore the island on the brilliant bus routes! Enjoyable and fresh breakfast, although more fruit would have been appreciated.
Very good hotel for a 3 star. We enjoyed using the rooftop area for sunbathing. The roof top bar was a bit hit and miss at night and its the only bar in the hotel. The rooms were clean and not a bad size, I took my own travel kettle/tea ect. It lacks not having a fridge in the room. Breakfast was okay , plenty of choice and the staff worked hard clearing away, also, good hours for breakfast. The hotel is in a good easy area, plenty of bars and restaurants without being too busy . You can walk to St Julian's bay easy ( bars, nightclubs, ect) and plenty of buses to get to Valletta. For the time of year, we had a great stay plus good weather.
Came with a group of 10 what a time we had. The hotel was ideally suited for many bars and restaurants. With the bus stop outside it was easy to get to Valetta, St Julian’s bay and Sliema marina. The hotel itself was very clean and daily room service. We just went B&B and the breakfast was excellent.Good amenities the only fault really was when we went to the jacuzzi it was cold but not really a deal breaker. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back
We all have different expectations and experiences but ours is nothing but positive breakfast was more than adequete the rooms were clean and we had a good view ..we had two room issues and maintenance arrive both times immediately and resolved them we would not hesitate to stay again
Don’t bother booking this hotel when you can find much better accommodation for the money elsewhere. We paid an additional supplement for 3 sea view rooms which overlooked trees rather than the sea. Complained to the Management and they basically didn’t want to know. The hotel has changed in the 30 plus years we have been coming here and it’s not for the better. One of the rooms we were allocated had a foul smell and maintenance banging at 7am was a real annoyance.
We spoke to the Manager at the Hotel to see if he could resolve an issue with our rooms and nothing happened.
If you don’t look after loyal customers they move on and find other properties in the area who do care and that’s what we will do next time we come to Malta.
6 nights in a 3 bed studio with inland view. Hotel is lovely, room was fab, pleasantly surprised after a few negative comments. Location is lovely, especially after walking into sliema which is not pleasant. So pleased this hotel is located so close to St julians. Easy to walk to. Plenty of great bars and restaurants. Highly recommend
I booked this hotel for it's location as it seemed ideal. I admit to being sceptical after reading the reviews however have learnt over the years to make my own mind up. I booked a superior twin with sea view and messaged the hotel to request a high floor.
On arrival we were informed that our room was in the part next door and we were helped across by a lovely and helpful man from next doors reception.
We were allocated room 619 and couldn't have asked for a better view. The room was spacious as was the bathroom which contained bath with shower over. Always a good supply of hot water.
The room was serviced daily to an adequate standard.
Breakfast was fine for us and more than sufficient. If you want 5* then that's what you should book. A big shout out to Maya and the breakfast team ,always smiling and clearing tables efficiently. To be honest we found all the staff to be pleasant and helpful.
Would definitely use this hotel again.
I always read reviews before choosing a hotel. Whilst they won't put me off I get a flavour of what to expect. This hotels reviews were very mixed so my expectations were low. I like to therefore be honest. If you want memory foam mattresses, pillows and fluffy towels then don't stay here! We booked a superior twin with Seaview as having a balcony and view is a personal essential. We requested a high room so view was wonderful although you can get same view from the restaurant and the rooftop bar and pool. Yes there is a busy main road outside so again if that bothers you then you will be in the wrong hotel! Personally it did not bother me and is handy for catching a bus! Room was fine! We were in older part of hotel so yes if I wanted to nit pick I could but I won't because the pluses outweighed the negatives! We had a leak from fridge which we reported and it was sorted very quickly! Staff were all efficient but I found that restaurant and cleaning staff were especially cheerful and friendly which is something important to me! Now for breakfast again if you are looking for prosecco and made to order omlettes then you will be disappointed! I was very happy with choice! Scrambled eggs were nice, breads very fresh and lots of cake, sweet options and fruits. Coffee was good! The hotel is really well situated with nice walk to lovely sliema seafront to the right and pretty Spinola bay and busier St Julians to the left. I enjoyed Valletta using the ferry there and back. It is a 15-20 min ish walk from hotel to ferry but you do have option of bus. This was my first time in Malta. I would definitely come back and if I did stay in this area I would have no issue staying at this hotel again.
I stayed with a friend at the Plaza Regency hotel in Sliema, Malta for 4 nights. We had a studio room which had 2 twin beds and a small kitchenette consisting of a 2 ring hob, fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave plus crockery and cutlery. The bathroom had both a bath and walk in shower. We had a balcony which just fitted 2 people (complete with outside chairs and a small table) and a sea view. We were only on the first floor so had some trees in the way but could see the sea over in the distance. The room was very clean and we even had a lady knock on our door at 8am one morning asking if she could start cleaning our room so be aware if you like to get up late on holiday.
We had 3 full days in Malta so visited the walled city of Mdina which was very pretty. Inside we did the Mdina experinence which was a 30 mins film about the history of the city. Then we moved on to Saint Paul's cathedral which was stunning. In the afternoon we visited St. Paul's catacombs in Rabat which is one of the largest catacombs in existence. Be aware that once down in the large area underground it is very dimly lit and very narrow.
On the second day we stayed in Valletta and visited St. John's Co Cathedral which again was stunning. Then in the afternoon we got a bus to Riche in Birgu to visit the Inquisitor's palace.
On the final day we got the fast ferry to the island of Gozo. It is well worth visiting especially the 5 small museums on the combi ticket in the Citadella region. We also did the City Sightseeing bus tour. Be aware of the weather though as we had a storm the previous night which left the sea rather rough and the ferry crossing both there and back was awful. If you haven't got sea legs, you might be best to leave this one out of your itinerary.
There are a lot of places to eat in both Sliema and St. Julian's bay area and you get big portions of food. Prices are pretty reasonable. Frescos opposite the hotel has lovely food and couldn't be more accommodating. It is rather small inside so best to book a table. Also round in St. Julian's bay area is a small Spar supermarket selling everything from milk and bread to cakes and biscuits. There is a small convenience store on the next block to the Plaza hotel (come down the steps to the main road and turn right) and that's where you can pick up your bus tickets. If you are only making a few journeys then you can pay by contactless on the bus. We were going to use a lot of buses so got a 7 day Tallinja bus pass from the shop costing 25 euros (single bus fares are around 2.50 euros each). Bus passes can't be bought from the bus driver so get them in advance.
We had breakfast each morning and they do cooked items like fried eggs and bacon and cereals, yogurts, meats, cheeses, cakes and fresh fruit. The hotel also has a pool and a bar on the rooftop level but we didn't get a chance to use this.
The hotel is on a main road so there is some noise at night but most of the time it was pretty quiet.
It was a wonderful holiday and I would love to return to Malta again one day. If I do I would love to stay in the same hotel.
