Grandhotel Pupp

We stayed at Grandhotel Pupp for one night during a road trip through the Czech Republic and enjoyed it so much that we booked a three-night return stay for next April before we had even checked out. That probably says everything.

From the moment we arrived, the experience felt effortless. The hotel is breathtakingly beautiful, with a wonderful sense of history, yet it never feels intimidating. The staff were warm, professional and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay.

Our room was spacious, impeccably clean and beautifully designed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the towels wonderfully soft, and the bathroom was a real highlight. The shower had excellent water pressure, something surprisingly few luxury hotels get right.

Breakfast was outstanding. The quality and variety were excellent, and everything felt fresh and carefully prepared. It was one of the best breakfasts of our trip.

We also enjoyed exploring the hotel itself. As James Bond fans, it was great fun recognising locations from Casino Royale. Given the hotel’s cinematic history, it would be lovely to see this celebrated a little more throughout the property.

For us, Grandhotel Pupp offered outstanding value. We had previously stayed at another highly regarded five-star hotel in Brno which was considerably more expensive, yet Pupp surpassed it in almost every aspect.

No hotel is perfect. The only areas where we feel there is room for improvement are relatively small. The coffee served at breakfast wasn’t quite at the same standard as the rest of the experience, and we’d love to see every room include both regular and decaffeinated coffee capsules, together with at least one naturally caffeine-free tea such as chamomile, peppermint or rooibos.

Those are genuinely minor observations. Overall, Grandhotel Pupp exceeded our expectations and was the highlight of our trip. We cannot wait to return.

Totally recommend Hotel pupp! We have been there 3 nights with our little son who ist almost 2. Great room, nice little spa, beautiful building with Special atmosphere, awesome breakfast & very friendly staff. Great Location für local attractions!

To był już nasz kolejny pobyt w Grandhotelu Pupp i za każdym razem wyjeżdżamy zachwyceni. To hotel, do którego wraca się z ogromną przyjemnością. Zachwyca dbałość o każdy, nawet najmniejszy szczegół – od pięknego zapachu unoszącego się na korytarzach, po nastrojową muzykę w windzie, która tworzy wyjątkowy klimat. Personel jest niezwykle profesjonalny i serdeczny. Podróżowaliśmy z dziećmi i czekały na nie kosmetyki oraz miły prezent, co było bardzo sympatycznym gestem. Wszystkie nasze prośby zostały spełnione bez najmniejszego problemu. Śniadania są absolutnie wyśmienite – ogromny wybór, najwyższa jakość produktów i wszystko przepyszne. Dodatkowo hotel ma doskonałą lokalizację. To miejsce naprawdę wyjątkowe.

Grandhotel Pupp is without question one of the most impressive hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel itself is spectacular, and the spa, pool, saunas, casino, breakfast, bars and café were all exceptional. The architecture, atmosphere and historic character make it a truly unforgettable place.

Unfortunately, the overall experience is held back by an extremely inconsistent level of service. Around half of the staff delivered genuinely world-class hospitality: professional, attentive and a pleasure to interact with. The other half, however, appeared entirely unsuited to working in a service profession. This was not a language issue, but one of attitude, engagement and willingness to help.

The contrast between departments was striking. The Sales Department was absolutely fantastic and showed exactly what excellent customer service should look like, while other parts of the hotel suffered from poor communication, limited ownership and an indifferent attitude towards guests.

Because the quality varies so dramatically, this feels like a management problem rather than a few isolated incidents. That is a great shame, as the hotel itself is among the finest in Europe. With stronger and more consistent leadership, Grandhotel Pupp could be close to perfect.

It is exceptional. Especially if you are someone who appreciates old architecture and calming atmosphere.
