Good day,
My parents and I stayed at your hotel on May 8–9. First of all, I’d like to say that we really liked the rooms, the hotel’s interior, and the wellness area. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.
Unfortunately, an unpleasant situation occurred during check-out regarding the parking payment. I had paid for parking at the reception desk, while at the same time my father tried to pay directly at the parking lot. It was simply a misunderstanding. However, the staff member in charge of the parking reacted in a very inappropriate way and complained that we had caused him trouble.
We eventually resolved the issue together at the reception, and I personally apologized to him for the misunderstanding. His response after that, however, genuinely surprised and disappointed us. He was rude, used vulgar language, and spoke in a manner that I believe is completely unacceptable for a five-star hotel.
Sadly, this incident spoiled our otherwise excellent impression of the stay. It was especially uncomfortable having to listen to that kind of behavior in front of my parents. I also have to mention that some of the reception staff didn’t seem particularly helpful or welcoming either.
I really hope someone looks into this matter, as this level of communication with guests should not be normal in a hotel of your standard.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message.
The location was amazing. The historic main building was terrific. The cleaning ladies were exceptionally nice and helpful.
While the rooms were quite tired (the lamps were damaged and the walls were scratched; on the last day we were concerned about a short circuit in the ventilation system) but spot clean, the corridors were simply dirty. Moreover, there is a huge difference in overall quality between the main building and the separate building that we lived in.
The main problem was loudness we experienced the last day and night that disturbed us and made it impossible to relax and sleep. Even though we called the staff three times, they were unable to make the people living above us to behave properly.
Being able to say that you lived in a hotel where they filmed Casino Royale is not worth the price (the casino is a joke btw). Thus, I would recommend you to chose another hotel.
Magnifique chambre et déjeuner exceptionnel.
Very grand,
Very modern,
Good upkeep of facilities.
Good staffing
No air conditioning in room (only heating)
Hot tub and mini pools weren’t hot enough (like warm)
Swimming pool, breakfast
Not much entertainment at night
This was the most fantastic hotel we have every stayed at. It was a fairytale experience and somewhere we will return one day.
Staying at Grandhotel Pupp, a historic hotel founded in the 1700s, was a truly special experience during our visit to Karlovy Vary. The atmosphere of the hotel beautifully reflects its long history and elegance.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable, and having a smart TV was a nice modern touch. The bathroom, however, felt older in design compared to the room itself.
The spa complex offered many different areas, including a salt room, which we enjoyed. However, communication was sometimes difficult because some of the spa staff members did not speak English.
Breakfast had a very wide variety of options, but for such a luxurious hotel, we expected more refined and higher-quality products. There was plenty of choice, yet the flavors felt rather standard. Also, due to the crowd, the service quality at breakfast was lower than expected, and it was difficult to enjoy a calm and peaceful breakfast experience.
On the other hand, the famous Pupp cake served at the hotel café was absolutely delicious. We also had an amazing Wagyu burger at the newly opened Meat & Bone restaurant — both the food and the atmosphere were excellent.
Overall, it was a memorable stay in one of the most iconic hotels in the Czech Republic.
I liked the location of the hotel.
I didn’t like the spa center.
