We preferred the Mena House Hotel.
Pros:

Breakfast was very good.

Cons:

We arrived late at night after a flight from Aswan. I had booked 3 superior kingsize rooms but we were 'upgraded' to 2 suites which meant that the third room was a small twin. As this was not what we had booked, I was forced to return to reception at about midnight and ask for a room of the type we had booked. This was eventually and somewhat ungraciously supplied. One of the suites had an unpleasant musty smell but as we were only there for about 8 hours and arrived at about 11.30pm it was not worth making a fuss.
