Overall is a the usual shangrila experience, if you like this kind of stuff. Family facilities are the perk we were looking for and the reason we booked the last two nights before departure
Many of the facilities were not included in the price, quite annoying, overall overpriced, air conditioning made us all sick. On weekends is packed
Club lounge top
Barulho no quarto , você ouve quartos vizinhos e hóspedes no corredor , banheiro , não tem silêncio
Facility not too bad, my kids enjoyed the indoor swimming pool.
We had very bad experience in this hotel, we have waited nearly 3 hrs for the room to be ready when check in, the staff there definitely need more training, no smiles, no greeting, no apologies, we have to chase for the room card few times! During breakfast we even been asked to pay extra breakfast fee for the youngest child, which was paid already! There are many other small things that made us think the money spent definitely not worth as a 5 star hotel!
Az éttermek szépek voltak, az ételek finomak voltak. Jó elhelyezkedés.
A személyzet nem segítőkész, nem kedves, mindent elrontanak.
The staff was very friendly.
Good buffet for breakfast and Dinner.
It’s a bit old, room are a bit old but still location is good and very friendly hotel.
- Convenient from the train station.
- Rooms were good value, particularly for the suites.
- Generally family friendly with enough at the property to entertain kids for a couple of days but it’s also no Club Med either
- Great views from the room and from the Horizon Club Lounge
- Food in the Horizon Lounge was solid for breakfast and in the evenings for dinner
- Staff are really great. A real highlight of the stay.
- The fitness centre isn’t half bad surprisingly. No smith machine or squat rack and limited range of dumbbells but there is a dual pulley machine to mostly be able to hit everything you need to hit workout wise.
- pool is large, bright, roomy. Pool does get rather deep for a hotel pool so be careful if you’ve got kids.
- It’s a smoke free property but they don’t do a good job of enforcing this. I understand that it’s hard to enforce in Guilin as the people there have their own code about it, but as someone with children it was a real nuisance. There was smoking in the lobby, in the hallways leading to the kids club, smoking in the zoo area, etc.
- Breakfast buffet is decent but does feel short on variety. Furthermore, the fermented bamboo smell is inescapable. We ended up just having breakfast in the Horizon Club lounge to escape it.
- The changing room & shower facilities for the pool/fitness centre are pretty run down and uncomfortable. Ended up going back up to the room in wet swimsuits to shower.

The restaurant staff , the small one , not the buffet
Location is closed to one train station. If you arrive late in the day, this hotel may be your best choice.
Az étterem jó volt
A személyzet felháborító volt, nem segítőkész és nem szimpatikus
This was our 20th anniversary holiday trip and also my wife's birthday. The hotel staff did all possible to make our stay superb and unforgettable. Everything was to perfection. The staff in the executive lounge were the best we ever met. The facilities were spotless clean and functional and the good old Shangri-La was shining with style and elegance to make us feel like in paradise. We had an exquisite birthday dinner in the Chinese restaurant and the food was outstanding. At the end of the meal the staff surprised us with a birthday cake and candles for my wife. The food and drink selection and quality in the lounge was first class. Dishes changed every day, and the famous local Guilin noodles were freshly hand made by a chef. Heavenly!!!
The location is perfect and the view over the Shangri-La garden/park and the river onto the mystic Karst formation priceless. The rooms were spotless clean and comfortable, elegant and spacious. This was one of the very best hotel stays in our extensive travel experience. Surely we will come back soon. Thank you to all wonderful people at Shangri-La that made us very happy. We want to thank MS Anne the General Manager, who came to see us in the lounge, for her kindness and excellent management of the staff and functions. Our special thanks for all-time best care, friendliness and service go to Daisy (you are the very BEST), Juliet, Hugo and the second young man in the lounge (sorry we did not catch your name correctly, Daisy pls. let him know)
We hope to see you all again soon.
Kind regards from Singapore

That we had to leave so soon and could not stay longer!
The staff were awesome. I am Australian and my wife is Chinese. She was born in Guilin. We were visiting my wife’s family in Guilin.
This is the second time we have stayed here and this trip was just as awesome as the first one. The hotel staff are all friendly right down to the cleaners. The rooms are clean and extremely comfortable.
I don’t eat western food when I’m in China but they cater for all nationalities. The restaurant is top class and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Nothing. It’s almost perfect
The hotel is clean and well maintained.
