Avoid.
Pros:

We stayed here as a Jet 2 Holidays package As a half board deal. The food was exceptionally basic and most of the time reheated left overs. We ate out 90% of the time. The staff were always busy, arguing amongst themselves and aggressive to customers - ourselves included in front of my young children.

The Jet 2 rep onsite works tirelessly to solve issues with other guests. There is a bpattern of complaints. I am still waiting for an adequate response from Jet 2 holidays how they safeguard families on package holidays in such circumstances.

When looking at the reviews , the 4.6 star rating is derived over many years good service when the hotel was under different ownership. It is my knowledge that the family run hotel currently operating the hotel are new in.

Serious advice. I would avoid this hotel.

Never again!!!
Pros:

Very basic hotel definitely wouldn't give it 3 stars on arriving, more a 1 + star rating, staff not helpful or friendly on arrival. Not dropped at reception by transfer and had no clue where the entrance was, as there were no signs.
Not disabled friendly, no help with luggage and no kettle in room, asked for a kettle, but was told to wait until house keeper was in next day, but asked again later and was given one by same lady on reception which was only in the room behind, which took all of 2 minutes if that, to get for us.
Asked if we could exchange for a ground floor room, but was told no because they don't know who may be coming in. But, we asked the Jet2 rep after 2 nights and was moved immediately. On entering the room, the fridge had a towel inside to soak up water. The same fridge stopped working after 2 days and was replaced with a new one.
The room wasn't cleaned on Sunday and was told they don't clean on Sundays, which was a new one on me. Also, no towels were given, although dirty ones were taken out. We complained and was told they only had bath towels but no hand towels. The next day still no hand towels and also only one bed got changed and the other was left un made, the floor wasn't swept and the bathroom wasn't cleaned. On complaining again, the reception said the cleaner is very good, so then we showed her the photos of the dirty taps in the bathroom and mess on the floor, of which she said nothing.
We mentioned one bed not being changed, and she said it will be done tomorrow at which I said, give me the sheets and I will do it myself, at which she said we only have one. Also, mattresses, when stripped, were stained..

As for the food, it is very repetitive and basic, and there is no taste, also mostly cold, drinks machines weren't clean, cups and spoons often ran out, so left people waiting.

No drinks were offered with evening meals as you had to pay for one, which on ordering we were given watered down pineapple juice at 3 euros, after then we bought ours from the supermarket at only 2 euros a carton and refilled our bottles from our fridge and took them with us to our evening meal.

Location and amenities weren't good if you were older or disabled, as you had to cross a main road via an underground tunnel that had steep steps, again not for elderly or disabled. Then a walk to the right and 1st left, which is quite a walk for some people.

On the only plus side, the odd staff member was friendly but not many smiley faces, 🤨but
again, the cats🐈🐈‍⬛ were friendly, which may add another star🤣

I must say I will not return or recommend this hotel, I'd rather go camping and I hate camping😬

Would not go back
Pros:

The hotel is very dated, including the rooms. Our bed was very uncomfortable and it was like sleeping on a brick. The pillows were not great and I ended up with a sore neck each night. We ended up skipping breakfast after 2 days - tinned hotdogs and cheap plastic bacon were among the few options. Dinner was hit and miss. The location was good, not far from the town and beach, and the pool was very nice. They could do with some new sunbeds and parasols though. We were disappointed that the weekend live band was cancelled. We really struggled to find anywhere with good evening entertainment in Stalis unfortunately. Staff at the hotel were friendly but overall we would not go back.

Great holiday
Pros:

My family and I arrived early hours on 22nd September 25. We were given sandwiches and fruit on our arrival which we thought was lovely of them. We stayed for 9 nights. Our rooms were the first on the right opp reception. Yes basic but very clean. There was a kettle in our room with two cups. We found the staff were lovely, our cleaner, reception, bar staff and Katrina the kids club organiser were very friendly. My grandchildren aged 3 and 6 loved it at the kids club. We all found the food lovely, not red hot but a good selection of dishes. To be honest we all agreed that the hotel does need updating, the beds were firm but comfortable, we all enjoyed the food and my grandchildren loved the pools and especially the kids club. For four adults, 2 children and an infant we only payed £1800 for 9 nights half board. To us it was a bargain and that we would go back again. Thank you everyone we had a great time 😃😎

Crete is lovely, the hotel not so good!
Pros:

Positive first, Staff were lovely without exception!
The pool area was kept clean and tidy albeit people ignored the no reservation with towels rule, there were always spare sun beds. Albeit not that comfortable.
Room was basic but adequate

Less positive;
Pestered by semi feral cats at mealtimes, not helped by people feeding them! ( as noted in some reviews)

The food was not good, and to add insult to injury it was usually lukewarm, I saw warm chicken from the kitchen being added to chicken that had gone cold, they did the same with Pork.

The brochures states it's family owned, that's no longer the case, regular visitors told us it has gone downhill!.

I won't be back, to this hotel, there are better more central hotels in Stalis

Could be so much better
Pros:

We stayed in room number 516, it was dated and run down, stinking toilet, ants crawling under the door from the garden, nails sticking out of skirting boards ( dangerous ) absolute flea pit, see attached photos.

With regards to the food it was inedible the worst I have ever experienced anywhere in the world, we were literally feeding the hotel cats with it, and even some of them turned their noses up at it.

We moved rooms for a late check out to room 712 which (as had a lot of other rooms recently been refurbished) the room was faultless really nice, clean, absolutely perfect and would have made our stay more enjoyable, even with the disgusting food that everyone was talking about.

The staff were friendly, the pool and sunbed areas are all very clean and faultless,

Apparently the food was amazing when the hotel was family owned, but since it has been took over the new owners are serving up cheap horrible dishes.

Could be so much better
Pros:

The hotel itself could be so nice but a lack of maintenance and repairs, along with some really dodgy workmanship means it is really appalling. That was our room anyway. The smell from the downstairs bathroom was awful and we had to literally hold our breath to go in there.
The food was terrible and mostly inedible, even the stray cats turned their noses up at some of it when we offered it to them. Cheap tinned hotdogs for breakfast that were swimming in yellow brine really puts you off!
We used the ‘gym’ and to say it was basic is an understatement- the treadmill was out of order our whole stay despite being told each day that it was getting repaired the next day. We did get it for free a couple of days after complaining that we were paying €5 a time for a gym that only had a third of the equipment working.
Good points were the staff - really friendly and helpful. The pools were immaculate and there was always plenty of sunbeds.
We requested a late check out and had to move to another room as ours was booked out. This room was lovely and had obviously been recently renovated - a million miles away from our flea pit!
Like I’ve said, this hotel could be amazing with some TLC and a little more quality with the food.

Dated hotel
Pros:

Very dated hotel, rooms are very basic, no tea making facilities in rooms, beds were a little on the hard side
Hotel is about 20 minute walk to the main strip. Food was average nothing special,
Breakfast was good, dinner was quite repetitive could be more choice of deserts
You have to pay if you want coffee or tea after dinner, even had to pay for a drink of water, I think that's very mean
This hotel is suitable for the older person, as a lot of guests were50+
The pool area needed a good brush and mopping fag butt's everywhere

Total let down
Pros:

Just returned after 10 days in annastasiaHotelcrete
Positives rooms basic but clean
Bar staff and reception staff happy abd friendly. Pool areas ok
Negatives main issue food night time warm at best same menu each night
When i asked for hot food told to use the microwave. Breakfast ok apart from no tea bags for 4 days when I asked for some told finished.this us supposed to be half board. The lady in the restaurant is rushed off her feet by herself trying to get clean crockery and top the food up as well as filing juice etc. No wonder she never smiled. We have been here 7 times never again. The biggest issue is the manager no people skills at all not even a good morning.who ever now runs this hotel needs to take a good long look at the managment, entertainment ahd and staff morale. Whilst there six couples who had like us been there many times said never again shame. This is a honest review as myself and partner visit greece at least 3 times a year so not what to expect firvwhat you pay.

Would not recommend
Pros:

Rooms were basic but cleaned regularly. No tea making facilities in room. TV was old style and not working. Food was awful for breakfast. Garlic mushrooms, chips, carrots and anything else that was left over from night before. Location is not great. You have to go under dodgy underpass or risk life crossing main road to get to shops, restaurants and beach. Staff were not the friendliest. Prices at bar were through the roof, €22 for 2 gin and tonic. Things are a lot cheaper if you risk crossing the road. And food is amazing if you eat out. Would not recommend. Apparently the good feedback they get is mainly from previous owners. They changed about 12-18 months ago.

Good value with lovely pool and location, though food and staff could improve.
Pros:

The rooms were basic but clean which was all we really needed for our stay. The TV’s do need updating as they are the old box style and extremely pixilated so couldn’t be watched.

The pool area was lovely, with plenty of space to relax. (No lifeguard but that didn’t matter to us).

The location is just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, around 10/15 mins walk. Transfer time from airport around 1hour but that was with drop off at other hotel’s .

The food was on the simple side with not a lot of variety, but what was served was ok. If you went for tea a little later there also was even less to choice from.

For me, the staff were the downside. They weren’t unfriendly, but it often felt like they weren’t very interested in conversation and sometimes like asking for something was a bit of a bother. A warmer approach would have made a big difference to the overall experience.

So for that reason I wouldn’t return,

Not like it was...
Pros:

I am sad to say that the hotel has gone a bit downhill. Ive stayed here 7 times now, but, whilst most is acceptable, there are things that need looking at.
Firstly, the hotel is clean, rooms are clean. We had a family room which is spacious and comfortable.
Food is one thing that now lacks quality,on one evening unacceptable even. Not enough choice variation anymore.
Some of the gardens havnt been maintained, and look a bit tatty, although some areas were nice still.
Some members of staff were complaining about being overworked.Maybe because they know me,but they shouldnt be complaining to holidsymakers.
Sadly, Two members have left, who were almost invaluable to the running and atmosphere of the hotel.
However, most were still friendly and doing their best.
A few of the regular holidaymskers who have stayed several times, like me,have made the same comments.
I still love the hotel, but it needs to update and move up again, before it loses more regulars.
I would stay again, but not until it sorts the mentioned things out.

Could be much better
Pros:

Anastasia
Upon arrival we were somewhat disappointed. The room was very basic with nowhere to be able to store our suitcases and the beds were very hard. The pool areas were good and are a positive to the hotel.

Pros
-The housekeepers keep the rooms very clean and are friendly
-Reception staff are helpful
-There are three pools, all with a relaxed vibe. No sunbed wars, always beds available.
-There is a football pitch and mini golf
-Air conditioning included

Cons
-It was advertised that there was a kids club and outside kids play area. The play area listed on the website has been totally removed. The kids club was more of a supervised crèche. Jet2 agreed this was mis-advertised and have now changed it on their website.
-We were in a double/twin room which was very basic with an 80s style TV and rock hard beds. I believe some other style rooms may be better?
-Food was average at best. Breakfast was better than dinner. Some better organisation (eg knives and forks easily available easily if you were the second sitting to a table) would help improve the dining experience.
-Kettle and safe are chargeable. We knew this so brought our own kettle.
-the staff clearly work hard however some of the waiting/bar staff appear visibly stressed and were quite abrupt. They seemed to be more friendly to people that were spending lots at the bar such as big groups or those who were regulars, but if you weren’t buying loads from them they appeared quite curt. We witnessed staff arguing and definitely didn’t feel they were very welcoming which we’ve never experienced in Greece before.

Neutral
-Entertainment was ok-really depends what you’re looking for. The Greek dancing night was good.
-Location. It’s nice and peaceful but a little bit of a walk into the main stalls strip (10-15 to the edge, 25 or 30 to the centre). We didn’t mind this as enjoyed the walk but if you have reduced mobility it would be tricky.

We paid £2300 for two adults for 10 nights and got a free child place. For this money, I don’t think it was worth it especially as we had specifically wanted facilities that are no longer there.
