Real Marina Hotel & Spa

Nice hotel, but, not 5*. Reception area looks 5* with loads of comfortable seating and a bar (that was never open). 3 lifts so very little waiting. Carpets in corridors look like they need a deep clean, they’re not disgusting but a clean would help.
Bathroom nice but a bit worn, toilet seat loose from when we got there until we left. Does the cleaner not report back? Weirdest taps I’ve seen anywhere in the world, and they mostly leak! Carpet threadbare next to door onto balcony.
We were half board but I think this hotel is more for bed and breakfast. The evening dining arrangements were near the pool or at the pool bar, consequently one night we were mixing with pool stragglers, some of whom were smoking. Same limited menu every night, after a few days I didn’t need it, I just knew what was on it.
Upside was the food all very nice.
Breakfast all good. Loads of
choices and served in a proper restaurant.
Not enough sun shades at pool and just enough sun beds. Get there quick in the morning. Towels reserving sun beds for hours and no one there.
Nice sea front walk to a few shops and a lot of restaurants.
This all sounds a bit negative but this is a nice hotel that just needs a few bits of refurbishment and tweaks here and there to maybe be a true 5*.
Staff outstanding. No need to name names, they were all excellent.
Would I return, yes, but only B&B next time unless there’s a proper restaurant for dinner at night.

Such lovely staff. Bright clean rooms. We have been many times before. A great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxed stay and an easy holiday.

Seaside location. Proximity to the old town.
Comfortable. Accessible. Good breakfast!

Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und die Matratzen waren gemütlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet war umfangreich und der Kaffe war super. Am Wellnessbereich und Pool gibt es nichts auszusetzten.

Staff were friendly and rooms were bright and clean

L'hôtel est bien situé face à la lagune. La chambre est confortable et spacieuse. Le petit déjeuner offre un choix incroyable et la piscine est top : vue sur la lagune et bar/ petite restauration.

Well we’ve been back a week after a fantastic stay at this hotel.
We upgraded our room from Park View to Marina View at very short notice, a big shout out to Sara on reception for accommodating our request.
All the hotel staff were really friendly & proficient.
Our room, 305, overlooking the pool & Marina, was spacious, clean & well presented.
Breakfast had a wide variety of hot & cold food, various juices, coffee and a glass of fizz if desired.
The roof top pool was great as was the pool bar & staff.
As mentioned in previous reviews, yes it is a little tired around the edges, but shouldn’t stop you from staying here.
A really nice touch from the management team was the free lunch & drinks for the staff that worked over the Bank Holiday. Reward staff for going the extra mile & they will give their 100% for ever.
Highly recommend & thank you for a great stay.

1st experience of this hotel. It is just fantastic. Location just short walk from anywhere in Olhao. River, marina directly infront of the hotel. Worth extra few pound for ria view and balcony.
Room was beautiful. Big big bed all the toiletries you need there. Im fussy but everything was good quality. Excellent hairdryer. Pillows weren't great but they did alright.
Pool bar fantastic and staff were outstanding from drinks to food in bar. Staff walk around pool bring you what you need. They even get umbrellas to shade you from the sun. Sun loungers comfy. As usual sun bed huggers have towels in bed from early but not turning up till lunch time. Hotel needs to address this.
Breakfast was magnificent. Staff so helpful and friendly. Food choice was amazing.
Hotel is spotless. Big thank you to reception staff who helped my husband organise flowers for our wedding anniversary. Hotel also added in beautiful dessert and champagne.
Ive have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone. Olhao is 10 mins from faro airport. We had a brilliant hoilday. We will be back.

Room and location very good

Pool was nice but dreadfully under stocked with sufficient sunbeds and parasols that lead to aggressive behaviour of guests much to dismay of staff who were extremely supportive in finding equipment for guests wherever possible
