Good location
Location
Breakfast situation is a rip off and confusing , booking says including breakfast , then get told continental but only have a choice of a couple of items , second coffee is chargeable
La grande chambre
English breakfast pour qualité for 14 pounds
Very nice amenities and close to the center
The bar wasn’t stocked, but was due to the time of the year with staff parties
Bedroom lighting
We obtained a free upgrade to a suite
Nothing really
The location is very good, only a few minutes walk into the centre of Chester.
Unfortunately, by booking through a third party agent the breakfast included in the deal is the continental version although a cooked breakfast is available at an extra cost of £14 per person per night. The continental breakfast was poor with the option of one choice from three sections two of which were fruit juices and hot drinks with a supplement payable for refills. Parking is a staggering £20 per night and in hindsight I wish I'd parked on one of various public car parks in the area. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and have noted a steady decline over the years and will not be visiting again as there are a number of better establishments in the area offering better value for money.
Modern and clean
It’s quite noises at night with bins or heavy trolleys moving at night.
A lovely continental breakfast with option to upgrade to hot breakfast at an extra charge. Friendly staff.🙂
Nothing
Room was good, very spacious and clean
Nothing
Good location
Breakfast took 40minutes to come, asked for water while waiting didn’t arrive, and coffee came out with the breakfast, sitting with no drink for 40 minutes, also they charge you for breakfast when you book then only offer you continental and charge you £15 per person extra for cooked breakfast
Location, accommodation and staff all very good.
When booking bed and breakfast in the UK I expect a cooked breakfast and not continental.
The free breakfast only applies to a continental not cooked. No salt and pepper in the jars for the second time.
Some staff display a bit of an attitude. TVs could be updated.
Great location and a disabled parking spot allocated ahead of our arrival. Room was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly.
Check in was very slow due to only having one member of staff. We had arrived at the hotel before the room was available. Whilst bags could be stored perhaps we could have been checked in at this point as the room had been allocated.
Continental Breakfast options were extremely limited. No meat or cheese options available. No free top ups of coffee (or tea) was surprising.
The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space, the bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and towels it was also very well lit.
The bedroom area did not have enough light
The views over the racecourse were superb.
Would have preferred a cooked breakfast instead of continental included in price.
