Pros:

Was not happy with the breakfast. When checking in being told it’s a continental breakfast and you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. Did not say anything like that when booking.

Pros:

Lovely comfortable hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Great location.

Cons:

Please be aware if booking breakfast as part of the package, this only includes continental breakfast. This is also very limited, although nicely made and presented. If you want a cooked breakfast, there is an additional charge, a full English will set you back £14, which is a lot on top of the amount already paid. VERY unusual for a hotel to have this arrangement. Disppointing arrangement.

If you want a decent breakfast don't stay here
Pros:

Convenient location with underground parking just a 5-10 mins walk from the town centre.

Cons:

Since the last time I stayed here they have changed the breakfast to continental style: it's not a buffet though. You get to choose one juice, one hot drink and a one food item. The dishes are small bowl of fruit, cereal, museli, porridge etc or a croissant/toast. I had coffee - one small cup (no refills) and granola one day and fruit salad the next; by mid-morning I was hungry. Other people in the restaurant were complaining about the tiny portions and no drink refills.

Great choice to soak in Chester.
Pros:

Perfect location, staff are lovely.

Cons:

Heater didn't work in room but they got us a portable heater. There was also no soap in the shower gel dispenser. Got woken up telling us we were late for check out but due to a fire alarm during early hours we were given a complimentary extra hour extension on check out which reception were not made aware of because we then woke up at the same time anyway and it felt kind of redundant.

Overall not happy.
Pros:

Lovely big room.
All staff very helpful.

Cons:

Shower would not heat up in the evening or morning. Lukewarm.

Smell of drainage in bathroom.

Reported this before leaving review. No compensation offered for such a big problem so decided I would leave review.

One of my meals not cooked. Couldn't eat. No refund given.

Pros:

Had breakfast booked, got to the hotel and was informed that it was continental only.
Got to the restaurant to observe other people staying we’re having cooked breakfasts. Ordered from the continental menu and was told what I wanted wasn’t available and if I wanted a cooked breakfast I would have to pay more,… which I believed I had already done when I made the booking. Just left.
Booking states that breakfast is included in the price, but not what it is and I have always received a cooked breakfast when I have stayed at the Abode. Ate elsewhere.
