I appreciated everyone who worked at the Hotel, the close walking proximity to historic places and shopping
I had a view of the parking lot. Room was clean, but small.
Close to shops and historic sites. No coffee in the room. No breakfast
Be aware they charge a resort fee gor the airport shuttle that is advertised as free.
Pick-up, Check-in, Service and rooms nearly perfect. Nice helpful persons at reception. A charming place to go downtown Sitka
Very friendly staff
Room was below hotel room standard, staffs were careless about guests service or directing the guests to the room area.we ask a question regarding dining and the response from the staff was it all on the table and you can read yourself. Front desk staff was more interested in chatting with other employee. I would not recommend others to stay at this hotel. There is more better options to stay.
Ernie's Saloon, which shares back parking lot next to our room, was loud and rowdy until 2:00 AM every single night we were there (4 nights). Never got any good sleep.
On Sunday, we arrived around 10 am to drop off our bags. The front desk staff didn’t say “hello” but immediately told us “check in time is 3PM.”
They allowed us to store our bags in a closet.
That’s fine.
We returned around 3 PM and were told the room wasn’t ready and to return in a few hours.
We returned at 7 PM and the room still wasn’t ready.
We waited another 20 minutes and were told the room is finally ready.
Upon entering the room we found it in poor condition. Body hair was in the bathtub, the room had an odor, and the room wasn’t the deluxe room I booked.
I told the desk there was hair in the bathtub and that we were staying somewhere else.
A member of the cleaning staff, clearly upset, said they could reclean it. We had already been waiting 4 hours past check in and didn’t want to wait longer.
We worked with the excellent customer service rep at Expedia about a refund. The hotel would not reimburse us in full due to their booking policy. We booked two nights, so they refunded us half.
They did not uphold their part of the bargain— a reasonable check in time or the room I booked — and the cleanliness is severely lacking.
If you want to have a good time in Sitka, stay at a different hotel.
The town is very walkable. You’re spending a lot of money to see this beautiful place. You don’t deserve to have your vacation ruined.
I don't know what the circumstances were that cause us to be unable to check in before 5:00 PM. Too few people on duty? The beds were very comfortable, but it was warm in the room, and so we had the windows open. That made the night time partyers a continuous wake-up! The shuttle to the airport was very good...got us there in plenty of time. One thing that would be nice in the bathroom would be a shelf near the sink. It would have been very helpful for getting ready to meet the world.
Rooms not ready after 6pm; only 1 housekeeper struggling to clean 17 rooms. Noisy tavern next to the room till 2am. Minimal staffing.
Nice place to stay near downtown
The mattress needs to be replaced. The restaurant is excellent and the hotel staff was very helpful, but the hotel needs some upgrades.
pleasant stay in heart if town. staff very friendly. very small town feel.
Ok property but room not worth $284/night. Looked like a Hotel 6 room
The staff was great! Quick to help out each time needed. They offered great recommendations and helpful e had good conversations.
Well, I’d say just read the other reviews…The staff is the worst I’ve been around and I’m a lifetime Platinum member of Marriott, so I’ve stayed in many hotels across North America. Would not return if it was the only hotel available.
Hotel is close to the airport and offers a free shuttle which is a plus. Front desk clerk was nice but dry, sarcastic responses to our questions. Wasn’t certain if she was put off by our question about storing luggage until our room was ready or if she was trying to be funny. Maybe i wasn’t in the mood for that type of humour at the moment. Night clerk was super nice and very friendly when we returned after dinner.
Our room assigned was an “accessible” room. Thankfully we don’t need this type of room. No way a wheelchair or walker would be able to navigate in the room. Just a heads up if this type of room is a requirement for future travelers.
The location is great. Walking distance to everything, including amazing hiking trails. Be sure to have All Trails or a similar app. Enjoy the beautiful views, hop on a bus to the cruise port and take a kayak trip or other excursion.
Was okay for 2 night stay. Others travelling with us had problems in their room ours was fine. Showers at night hot but cold in am. Only coffee free in breakfast room food ie breakfast sandwiches extra
needs a deep clean… pick up van was featured a hostile driver who deliberately droop my baggage on my foot… you can keep this overhyped dump…
