Great location, very basic hotel room. The building it is located in is a bit rundown.

К сожалению нет лифта :( отель находиться во внутреннем дворе невского проспекта. Вид, конечно, посредственный, зато тихо. Номера небольшие, но уютные. Понравилась администратор:) приветливая, отзывчивая. Есть небольшая кухонька, где можно сделать себе кофе, чай. Завтрак лёгкий - яйца, бутерброды, йогурт, чай-кофе. Осталось хорошее впечатление:)

Цель поездки -посмотреть Питер и пригороды. Отель прекрасно расположен в центре города, рядом станция метро,до Дворцовой площади доходили пешком. Вполне пристойный завтрак. Отзывчивый, доброжелательный, приятный персонал.

The hotel seems to be a remodeled apartment, with only 5 not very large rooms and a tiny hallway leading up to a desk. There's free coffee and tea in the hallway, and they'll do your laundry for about 250 rubles. Out of three receptionists, one did not speak any English, another did speak perfect English, whereas yet another one spoke perfect French, but no English! All very friendly and helpful though! The rooms are good, clean and quiet. There's an air conditioner that works very well. The windows are equipped with a mosquito net which is awesome! The Wi-Fi is free and works very well. The mattresses are OK, but not awesome (you feel the individual springs when resting e.g. your arm on it). The fridge is fairly large. The hotel is right on Nevskiy (in a backyard) and the metro station (one of the entrances) is on the same block. Note though that the metro won't take you to the Eremitage, you'll have to walk (20 min on a crowded street) or take a bus, tramway or taxi in order to get there. Note also that the hotel is on the 4th floor without elevator (spacious stairs though). Finally, note that Nevskiy is the mother of all streets. On the same block as the hotel you'll find restaurants, cafés (including Starbucks), shops, grocery stores etc that are open 24/7. I'd definitely come back to this hotel!

Hotel is in the center of the city,really close to the metro station. The stuff doesn't speak any english,but they are really trying to be helpful and are so nice! Rooms are small,but have everything you need. Price is really good and I would recommend it to everyone!

もうちょっと入口が分かりやすくして欲しいのとシャワーの水圧と温度を治せば直好。

Op 4e verdieping, geen lift, maar goed te doen. Vriendelijk personeel, maar communiceren is moeilijk daar men meest alleen russisch spreekt. Centraal gelegen aan de Nevski Prospekt, op loopafstand van veel bezienswaardigheden en vlakbij metrostation Mayakovkaya. Hoewel de buitenkant anders doet vermoeden zijn de kamers netjes schoon.

Мы с мужем отдыхали в этом отеле с 7 по 10 сентября 2015г. Отель нам очень понравился - чистый, удобный. В особенности нам понравился обслуживающий персонал - очень тактичные, предупредительные, добросердечные девушки! Если в будущем нам придется приехать в Санкт-Петербург, то однозначно выберем только Альтбург!

While the staff were very helpful and nice, despite their lack of English, I was immensely disappointed with the hotel for the following reasons: 1. Hotels.com did not mention it was on the 3rd floor of an old building, with no elevator. If I had known that, I would not have booked. 2. Entering the corridor of the hotel gives a terriblly claustrophobic and sleazy feeling. 3. Hotels.com wrongly marketed the hotel as being within one 1 km from all the major heritage places. Everything was at least a kilometer away, except the Metro and Railway stations. I wish Hotels.com and Altburg would be truthful.

Отель удобно расположен, особенно для тех, кто приезжает созерцать и ощутить привлекательность и историческую ценность Петербурга, кто любит архитектуру и хочет понять истоки творчества писателей, поэтов, музыкантов, художников, посидеть в летних открытых кафе, потому что прямо из отеля ты попадаешь в этот особенный мир старого Петербурга.
С бытовой стороны, в отеле есть все необходимое для неискушенного посетителя, а главное, - гостеприимный персонал, забота и уют, что особенно важно после насыщенного хождением по городу дня, прекрасный завтрак.

Decent room and breakfast,good location,3rd floor with no elevator,building entrance and stairwell need some improvement...

Overall good hotel, nice position, 25 minutes of walk to Hermitage and close of the main subway stations. Some good restaurants on the secondary streets but also some grocery shops in the neighborhood.

To find this hotel you need to go throug the arch. It is located in one of the residential buildings. Overall nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms. Would recommend to stay here.

This hotel is more like an apartment, with a hostess. And you have to carry your luggage up 4 flights of steps. But fabulous location to Nevsky Prospekt. This hotel is for travellers that spend most of their time out and about, not sitting in the room.
Wonderful breakfast. The hostess was great; even though she knew little English. For travellers who are flexible and desire location at a reasonable price.....this is it.

Inside the hotel was small but quite good. The entrance and flights of stairs were lousy. Staff were OK but English very mixed. The location was fantastic. The internet picture of the hotel is false advertising (not the hotel). Whether I recommend the hotel depends on who is asking.

Hotel is very nice,location is perfect.Staff was very helpful and friendly. Taking into consideration it's price - perfect!

The good: Perfect location on Nevsky prospekt, a few minutes walk from everything a tourist might need: attractions, good restaurants (at decent prices - try Soviet Cafe), metro, mall, even the train station. While I found the hotel expensive for the service it offered, it was one of the least expensive in the area when I booked it.
The not so good: none of the receptionists (who changed each day) spoke any English. The room pictures on the website are misleading. Only one room has a double bed, the other 5 rooms (standard) have two twin beds. We had to pay extra for the "comfort room" in order to have the double bed. While the room was very clean, the bathroom had a smell of humidity. The rooms are located on the 3rd floor of a regular apparent building and there is no elevator.
I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for an excellent location and clean rooms at a good price.
