Sehr freundliches Personal.
Gepflegte Anlage.
Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden
We had a wonderful time at iberostar Mahari djerba. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
Great bungalow. Large, safe hotel complex with a good range of facilities for our family of 2 adults and 2 boys aged 6 and 8.
Some areas in need of slight renovation e.g flooring in the dining room/gym facilities could have been better maintained. It seemed to be the first good weather week of the season so not all parts of the hotel were open. Dining experience a little chaotic at times but with 2 small kids we weren’t looking for perfection.
Struttura pulitissima e attenta all'ambiente con accorgimenti eco-friendly!
Ci siamo sentiti coccolati e ci ritorneremo sicuramente!
Me and my husband stayed here for 7 nights, half board for some rest and relaxation in the sun. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others but there are some slight improvements that could be made.
Pros:
- Lovely welcome of a hot towel, refreshing drink and a sweet treat on arrival
- Excellent value for money
- The hotel, its grounds and the beach were very clean, modern and well maintained
- Lots of activities for adults, families and kids
- Very friendly and enthusiastic animation staff
- Food was really good and had a large variety of dishes, even for the pickiest of eaters. My favourites from breakfast were the Tunisian eggs: flatbreads and pastries. At dinner, I would recommend the pizza, couscous, chickpeas, flavoured rice, turkey skewers, salad bar and roast chicken.
Cons:
- When checking in, we weren’t given an idea on how long it would be before we could check in, so we stayed in reception and kept having to check if our room was ready
- We weren’t made aware that soft drinks other than water weren’t included with our meals. We also didn’t know if we were allowed to have drinks or nibbles for the special events they hosted
- We felt that we were treated differently by bar and restaurant staff compared to other Europeans (eg French and German) but this may just have been a language barrier
If I was to book again, I would go all inclusive as there are no supermarkets, cafes or restaurants in the immediate area outside of the hotel.
This was our first visit to Djerba, and after a great deal of research we decided on Waves and we were not disappointed.
Thr hotel is spotlessly clean and the gardens are maintained beautifully.
There are a couple of pools with plenty of beds. They have a funny towel system where you leave a deposit, which you get back at the end of your vacation. The only problem is, you have to change your currency for the towels.
There is a nice, air conditioned gymnasium that is open virtually all of the time.
The food was amazing; lots of different options and plenty of vegan options at every meal, including plant based milks at breakfast.
Unfortunately, I observed that I was treated less favourably at the bar from some staff members than French visiting customers. These instances were distressing and did not meet the standard of service I expected from this hotel chain. I am concerned that this treatment was simply due to the fact of being English. I mention this in the hope of resolving the issue, ensuring a welcoming environment for all.
But that was the only negative aspect to such a wonderful stay.
We would 100% return to the Waves in the future.
The hotel is excellent value for money and the food selection is great for an all inclusive, fresh fish, bread, pasta, wood burning pizza oven. All cooked in front of you which is excellent! The rooms are large, clean and very modern. We had an interconnected room which suited our family well. The pool areas are great, lots of choice, and it’s the same with the sports facilities. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, the entertainment staff work exceptionally hard, but they’re not overpowering if you do want to sit and chill around the pool. It’s a really good balance! There is an excellent choice of drinks, and our teens loved the ice cream stand. The stroll to the beachfront is delightful, it’s traditional in style but contemporary in delivery, it’s simply stunning! There are however a couple of things to note -there seems to be lots of improvements happening at the hotel currently- great - although we frequently had to dodge a decorator or plasterer on our way to the pool. This didn’t bother us, we appreciated the extra effort going into to the hotel but some people will be offended by this. The cleanliness in the dining hall during meal times is not great, the floor could do with a quick sweep between sittings, and the place mats collect leftover food in them, the chairs are stained and the laminate flooring is peeling and requires improvement. There is also no queuing system so once the doors open everyone runs to a table and you can be left wandering round trying to find somewhere to sit. It would be much better if you waited at the desk and were taken to a table, then once the restaurant if full you wait your turn for a table. The dark haired spa man was a bit full on and wouldn’t take no for an answer, he came round and asked us every day, and we had already paid for 2 massages! The beach needs a tidy up, there are lots of unused items left in full view, dumped, and the Seagrass completely spoils the beautiful white power sand. It needs clearing as it lets the rest of the hotel down. A few minor adjustments and this hotel is there with the best of them!
