As others have stated didn't get room i booked, although I emailed hotel prior arrival to confirm. Arrived late at night, went to reception but told to come back next day. Lady at reception confirmed my e mail but said room booking was admin error! Eventually moved to a swim up room. No hairdryer. Reception advised not all rooms have hairdryers, yet they claim to be a 5 star hotel. I was told to buy one from the supermarket! Food lukewarm, drinks awful. Ended up eating in Lindos most nights. At checkout charged for bottle of wine we already paid for. I asked to see copy of their receipt, it wasn't my signature but no apology from reception.
Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Lindos Royal Resort. Alles war sehr gepflegt, das Personal freundlich und die Atmosphäre entspannend. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊
My friend and I stayed at this hotel as it was highly recommended by Tui.
In reality it was extremely poor, rundown & dirty.
Our room was basic but clean, the balcony was filthy. We immediately spoke to the Receptionist and requested another room but they said this wasn't possible.
The rest of the hotel was dirty with broken tiles and a lot of basic maintenance and cleaning required.
The drinks from the bar were disgusting.
Wine poured from a pump and dispensed into paper cups.
How Tui rate this hotel 5 stars is a joke and a con.
My fiancé and I were looking forward to the holiday of a lifetime, but instead we ended up with a nightmare straight out of Fawlty Towers. It honestly got to the point where you couldn’t make it up.
We arrived late at night and were taken to “our” room. It was beautiful and at first we were delighted — until we stepped onto the balcony and noticed a very obvious lack of a swim-up pool. We had paid a significant amount extra for this, both as a treat and for health reasons. We walked back up the steep hill to the main hotel to report it, only to be told there were no managers available overnight — which already felt ridiculous. Tired from travelling, we made an appointment to return in the morning.
After what turned out to be our one decent night’s sleep, we headed to reception and were met with several other couples already waiting with various complaints. We waited over an hour for our turn. The manager was apologetic and offered us two alternative rooms to choose from. Luckily, I picked the one that faced the sun — but it was sheer luck.
Then began the non-stop disasters. We were plagued by mosquitoes and bitten relentlessly. The fridge didn’t work, the outside area was dirty, and the walk down to our section was full of broken tiles, trip hazards, and unfinished, damaged areas.
A few days in, our neighbour and I noticed that the pool outside our rooms seemed to be draining. We reported it and it appeared to stop — only to wake up the next morning to find it almost empty. This was on top of mould, filthy tiles, and more damage. I have many photos of all of this.
To be fair, the food was decent and the servers were friendly and pleasant. The drinks were a bit grim but bearable. I became too ill to use any of the larger pools, but my partner said they were okay. However, there were many drainage and plumbing issues throughout the hotel, including our shower smelling like a urinal and the apartment opposite us having a sewage leak from upstairs.
The problems became a running joke between us and other guests, but the truth is they really did spoil what was meant to be a relaxing break after a very hard few months.
The island itself is beautiful and well worth visiting — just not the Royal Lindos. At best, it’s a 3-star hotel, nowhere near the 5-star standard we were promised and expecting. Many areas looked dirty, uncared for, and badly in need of a proper upgrade. Our room and bed were fortunately clean, but I heard horror stories from other guests who weren’t as lucky.
I honestly can’t emphasise this enough: expect a 3-star experience and you’ll be fine, but 5-star it absolutely is NOT.
Paid for a certain room type and was placed in another. When I queried it at reception I was told I had been “upgraded”. I think not, we ended up changing rooms twice and stayed in the third room offered only because it had storage space. This hotel is falling apart. Only one electric socket in the room is not five star, electric cables hanging out of the wall is not five star, no plugs in the sink is not five star. Very limited storage space, cupboard doors won’t full open, furniture falling apart, no shampoo in holder, door key card didn’t work, no water in the fridge, WiFi keeps dropping out. I could go on and on and on.
This hotel would be hard pressed to deserve even two stars, and I told the manager to her face. She looked me straight in the eyes and said it was five stars. The annoying thing is, because they label it “5 stars” you have to pay five star tourist tax which is €15 per night, so that is an additional €210 to be paid in cash on arrival. Whereas, if it were correctly labelled as a two star hotel it would be an additional €7 per night.
Loud BOOM BOOM music plays all day by the poolside and in the restaurants. One night we all went for a themed dinner in one of the restaurants, we couldn’t hear ourselves talking. We asked politely if they could lower the music so we could hear each other, we were ignored. The restaurant food is only ever luke warm, the alcoholic drinks are awful. There were eight of us in our group and we were all in agreement when we said we would never return. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the poolside bar girls at the evening bar were really nice and pleasant. Otherwise I would warn everyone to steer well away from this expensive two star hotel masqurading as a five star hotel.
The open buffet, the beach, the staff, the massage place, the night shows and the cats!
Rooms could've been cleaner. They don't use a vacuum cleaner, only sweep. I didn't like the sign of "do not feed the cats" at the bus stop. The reception could give information about the bus stops and hours before you ask for it.
La restauration etait vraiment bien, tout etait tres bien cuisine et bon. RAS.
Les repas etaient varies.
La plage etait avec des galets et pas de sable.
Beaucoup de vent.
Il ny avait pas d animation le soir, un peu triste !
The resort is lovely. The areas are clean, the rooms are clean. There is a choice of pools and the slides pool is located at the back. Shame they are not at the front but it is only a short walk to them just cannot not be seen from the 3 main pools. The food that on offer was one of the best buffet I have had. The choice of food was really good. The restaurant was very cleanThe snacks were much the same as any resort pizza chips doughnuts. We really enjoyed our stay. Lindos village is a short taxi ride away. Full of shops for gifts of varying price ranges. Plenty of restaurants something for everyone I think. All in all it was a really good holiday. Good holiday for relaxing. The entertainment was ok not great but I suppose it depends on what is expected. All the staff were very hardworking probably not the friendliest but they worked very hard. Some did smile and say hello especially the young man serving tea in the morning. (George?)
Exceptionally poor standard of hotel. Visited as a family of 4 generations. Hotel is not fit for purpose. Hazardous areas throughout the hotel. Leaks in bar areas causing floors to become very slippy, roof fell down in pool bar during stormy weather. Pools dirty, no lifeguards. Food fine but repetitive. Drinks poor stick to beer. Stench of sewerage at pool bar and adjacent to our seaview junior suite. Needs fully refurbished definitely would not recommend not suitable for young children.
Left with bug bites , headache due to falling down steps , everyone of us was sick at some point.
The staff in restsaurants and bar were nice but had an air of desperation for the season to end and run for the hills. I dont blame them. Not for the faint hearted but if you like a challenge of endurance then this may be the hotel for you !
We stayed at Lindos Royal as a family of 13, 3 generations ranging from 5 to 70 years old, staying in 4 apartments. The hotel was superb, rooms kept very clean and tidy as well as the whole complex. Lots of different pools and areas to sit and bars for snacks and drinks. It was my first experience of booking all inclusive and this type of holiday in 50 years, and I wasn't sure it would be for me, but I have to say that it was fantastic, food was plentiful, a huge range and great quality throughout. The drinks are ok and available as you want them. The staff were wonderful and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The temperature was a perfect 25 deg C daytime, and 18 deg evenings. We didn't book the holiday as a package and the hotel cost was surprisingly good booked separately. I would recommend the Lindos Royal to anyone.
We booked this holiday through EasyJet and as always the flights and transfers were excellent.
arriving at the hotel it felt clean, classy and five star and I am sure in It’s day it was. We were given a family room and not a superior double, the hotel staff were very good and swapped our room the next day. The rooms are a little tired but clean, although there is an awful smell in the bathroom most of the time and it wasn’t me..
Note - 25€ for a safe key.
Remember also as classed as first class, the tourist tax is 15€ per night per room.
Our first full day (Sunday 26th October) breakfast was good and there was a grill station for fresh eggs, omelettes and sausages. There was plenty of hot food and it felt like it was to be a good week food wise. Well by Tuesday the grill station had closed and by Wednesday the Pizza & pasta station had closed. The food choices become less and less as the week went on and to be frank, not acceptable for any hotel, let alone a 5 star. Coffee station was closed all week, there was only one themed restaurant available to book. Nice food but was very rushed. Literally stopped eating the starter and the main was out. Oh and by the way, you have to pay for the drinks in the theme restaurants.
There were plenty of sunbathing areas and the pools were clean and tidy, the hotel had a great outdoor set up but as the week went on, they literally shut everything down around us. The kid’s entertainment disappeared on the Monday. The evening entertainment was ok but held in a horrible small room with very poor choice of lighting and mould on the ceiling. In fact all activities were non existent after Monday apart from at night. The all inclusive alcohol was shocking, to the point we did not bother and went out all but two nights of the 7. You can buy good alcohol from the bar upstairs but let’s be honest, you go on an all inclusive for a reason. Unless you paid for a drink, all drinks were served in plastic beakers, even in the evening; which we’ve not had before.
As the week went on and the hotel was shutting down around us, we felt like we were getting in the way. Our water in the room stopped working twice and the hot water stopped twice also. The TV was on the blink and a couple of other small issues cropped up. There was constant building work taking place from day one. With drilling, grinding and banging. There were building supplies in our corridor from the day we arrived.
The beach area set up for the hotel, with sun beds and umbrellas were all taken away by the Tuesday also.
There is a shop on site and a mini market down by the beach.
Lindos town is stunning and we had 3 lovely meals out in total. The views from the hotel and across Lindos (separate bay) are absolutely stunning and well worth some of the pain but if you book this hotel in the very last week of the season, just be prepared. And before the holiday snobs, say what do you expect for the last week. We do the last week every year but have never had anything like this.
Would like to say the reception staff, porters and cleaners were absolutely lovely and very helpful.
3 days before shutting down, the fire extinguishers were stripped from the walls, that is very concerning.
Our last day and we were due out of the hotel until 10pm. They literally lifted the tables, chairs, sun beds, umbrellas, water coolers and anything that moved. Even the bins and put them into storage. All bars near the pools were closed and stripped bare and we had to go up to the main bar by reception for any drinks or food. This started by 10am, with the place emptied by lunchtime. Absolutely shocking.
I don’t find pleasure in giving such harsh feedback and if you look at other reviews, I have given on many other trips, I always try to be fair and consistent.
The photo of the food, is the food on offer on the last day due to shutting everything down.
I hope the hotel takes the time to read this and not take bookings in the last week of the season. On a final note and although I have already stated, the staff were absolutely lovely people.
Die sauberen Wege und vielen Pools - aber
Essen miserabel - laut wie am Ballermann. Vor allem an zwei nebeneinanderliegenden Pools zwei verschiedene Musik! Da wird man irre! Das gehört ins Angebot rein! Keine Ruhe - Strand gruselig. Ich bin nach drei Tagen abgereist obwohl ich 3700€ für 7 Tage bezahlt habe.
Very disappointed in this hotel it’s tired and needs upgrading. The food was awful and cold, Iv never ever had such bad food at an all inc hotel and we stay at a few every year. Drinks again awful we ended up paying for drinks in the lobby bar, you couldn’t even sit in the calypso bar due to the vile smell. I’d never stay here again.
