Pros:

The breakfast was good other than that it wasn't a pleasant stay.

Cons:

The staff were generally unhelpful. The building is old and the rooms and bathrooms are dated. The floors creak throughout the building. I arrived very late and had to wait until a member of staff woke up and came to answer the door. The beds are ok but the pillows and duvet were very light and didn't offer a good night sleep. I think I would choose a larger chain during my next stay.

Pleasant outside in the sunshine, but rooms and facilities need much love.
Pros:

Looks beautiful. Great setting. Friendly staff.

Cons:

Rooms and stairways needed tlc. King bed was just two singles pushed together. Hot water took ages to appear. Water pressure was very weak resulting in poor shower and extremely long wait to fill bath.

Pros:

The staff were friendly. The location was ideal. The building in itself looked lovely but the feel is very much a hotel time forgot

Breakfast was also nice.

Cons:

Every step the floor creaked, the floor boards were uneven. The shower made an awful high pitched noise when using it. The hot water was scolding hot which burnt my husband there was no sign to say be careful. Not sure if it was because it hadn't been used for awhile but there was also a strong egg smell when using the bathroom for the first couple of times. And lastly the bed was a divan base, very soft mattress with a wooden bed frame from a completely different bed around the base. When sitting up the head of the wooden frame broke, I had to put it back together the remaining frame was very flimsy, not really sure what the point was. Our room was at the bottom of a set of stairs so very noisy and did not feel like a private room.

Not my cup of tea and a bit expensive.
Pros:

Location was nice - I think it would be better in the summer when the gardens are in bloom. Staff are lovely.

Cons:

The suite I stayed in is not what I would call a suite and the garden view was not pleasant. The breakfast was very limited.

A great house but needs some work!
Pros:

A beautiful house with lovely staff

Cons:

The noise of a generator/boiler, a constant humming. I couldn’t sleep!
Also, a towel rail wasn’t fastened to the wall properly and fell off. The shower also came apart, and the tv control didn’t work.

Gorgeous grounds, regal interior and friendly staff
Pros:

I love the look and feel of this Hotel. The grounds are beautiful and layed out very well. Parking is in abundance.

The interior is very in time with the building and finished nicely.
The room I stayed in was a very good size and looked nice.
I had a breakfast included in my stay and was very nice. You get a cooked breakfast and choice of jams toast and cereal and fruit

Cons:

In regard to my room I did request 2 single beds, which wasn’t given. I didnt mention this as after a long drive I didn’t want to move to another room.
The bathroom looked clean but the plastic panels make the bathroom look very cheap, there was also a lot of damage to the panels in the bathroom which didn’t look great.

The bed was a little uncomfortable, it was a water bed feeling mattress. Sitting on the mattress my bum sunk straight to the bottom. Laying on top of the mattress was okay but only when I was comp still and not moving around. Unfortunately i fidget a bit and whenever i fidgeted it meant trying to get comfortable on the mattress again each time
