Pros:

The area. And it was a lovely old place with character
The waitress Stephanie was great. Without her the staff were dull

Cons:

Unfortunately it needs some tlc and also there was a wedding on and 1 o lock in the morning we had children running and people talking out loud
With the window open it had a dreadful smell coming thru there

Passable property, don’t look too hard for issues - if you’re a history buff this is the stay for you.
Pros:

The rooms are very big and high ceiling, it was very quiet, with a nice view of well kept gardens from the window.

Cons:

It’s in need of some tender loving care and some money spending in it.
The bed was quite lumpy and springs kept digging into our backs.
The water pressure in the shower was not good enough, the tap in the sink had more pressure.
The property is clean but needs more than just cleanliness, it needs rejuvenating a bit more and some consideration I think.

Pros:

A beautiful building with very friendly and helpful staff

Cons:

Inside the hotel is in need of a face lift. It looks very tired which does somewhat ruin the hotel.

Pros:

Lovely hotel. Stayed for 1 night. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. They really looked after us with our dog. Superb evening meal, good options if vegetarian or vegan too. Breakfast good. Yes, hotel is a little tired around the edges but our room was comfortable and clean. A beautiful oak staircase and panelling leading upstairs. Some lovely features. Beautiful gardens.

Disappointed
Pros:

The grounds were beautiful, the bed was comfortable, the chips were nice

Cons:

The general disrepair of the property, cobwebs in our room, old tatty mismatched furniture, pipe on show throughout the room, no sealant round the bath, door thresh hanging off, room felt like a nursing home, our room was main fire exit so if the alarm went off everyone would have to escape out of our room, very dated, food was just ok, drinks expensive

Convenient stay for family but woas property is
Pros:

Love the location and grounds. The bar is nice and very reasonable and we enjoyed the food at the restaurant

Cons:

We have stayed here multiple times in the past. The problem we had along with other family members who were also staying too was that the water pressure was dismal, infact at one point the hot water on shower stopped flowing and I couldn’t wash my hair. Also we had the deluxe room and there was no ironing board and I couldn’t find the hair dryer. Eventually found it in the secretary desk which was the last place you would look for a hair dryer. Staff are very nice, if they just address some maintenance issues it would be great. We had just come from a 13 th century hotel in Greece that had amazing facilities and water pressure so it is possible to have modern conveniences in ancient buildings
