We had a spacious, individual chalet in the adults only set of 12 chalets. Air con, ceiling fan, coffee maker, fridge, some crockery and cutlery, insect screens and a huge bathroom. Spotlessly clean with indoor and outdoor showers and a lovely deck. Small infinity pool on the beachfront. Family set of chalets has its own pool. The restaurant is really good. Complimentary breakfast included hot menu items and espresso coffees. We biked and paddled - the resort has good bikes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards for free use by guests.
Beautiful resort!
Great location and nice sized, comfy rooms. Only downside were some of the restaurant staff getting upset if you dont provide 5 hours notice for dinner, even though restaurant was always quiet. Overall though a minor blemish on an otherwise great resort.
What i really liked was being right on the beach, the privacy from others and how comfortable it was for the 7 adults and the 2 young children. The beach was safe, with plenty of kayaks to use for free. We all felt very comfortable. Lots of lounge chairs on the beach. Everything you needed was provided for from a washing machine, pegs, dish washer and all the comforts of home. Big BBQ . A big deck and two huge up stair varenders with big tables on all decks to hang out on. I would choose this accommodation next time I holiday in Rarotonga if I am going with all the family. 5 bedrooms, Two bathrooms and big family area. you can't go wrong with this choice.
Nice property and staff. Bedsheets had yellow stains from cloth hangers. Might want to invest in new linnen
Amazing stay! A credit to the team at Tamanu, we had a fantastic time and can’t wait to come back. Also the management meet and greet and cocktail was a great time. Food was also very good and the room was great. Such a great island to explore around.
This property was lovely but the wooden bench in the bathroom and kitchen had some water damage, also the water xame
Dropped in for lunch while walking the beach, great spot in the heat of the day. Pretty good food and a full bar. Chilled vibe with great staff.
We had the club sandwiches, pretty good. Other choices on the menu photo i attach. Lovely palm trees out front and a lazy cat
The staff were so helpful and friendly. Food at the restaurant was amazing, beautiful relaxing stay. Thank you.
Our stay was amazing! We would definitely stay again. The accommodations were beautiful and the rooms were clean. The restaurant was very nice and the staff was wonderful! We would highly recommend this gorgeous resort!!
Very nice, great outdoor shower nice pool, perfect view as we had a beach front bungalow. very friendly staff. Room did have a dodgy switch on the PowerPoint but other than that couldn’t fault.
Snorkelling not as good as raro as a bit murky but could have been due to current and recent rains.
.
Ripper Resort on a magnificent Island. Fabulous Local Staff. Room was excellent.
Friendly staff members. Good selection of breakfast and drinks. Good spot for snorkeling and walk on the beach.
Resort quite nice, separate family, adult. Beachfront rooms misleading. We paid additional for this and it was not beachfront. I asked about that and the service member said, "yes, it can be confusing, not actually on beach, but closest to beach." Found resorts in Rarotonga took groomed their beach, not so here. Some staff more helpful than others. We asked to book spa treatment and were told to go on line, that's why they gave us free wifi. Water pressure for shower not good. Room itself very pleasant, good breakfast, nice happy hour, small, but nice pool, good spa specials and services.
An absolutely lovely spot on a spectacular island.
From the moment we arrived it was a great experience .
The perfect end to our Travels Downunder.
All staff were really Friendly . Our Beach room was really Beach !
Great relaxing with a Cocktail.
Steak night was Fantastic and the Specially made Pepper Sauce a dream !
Thanks again

Everything about Tamanu Beach Resort is absolutely perfect! The location is great for snorkelling, swimming, relaxing and sight seeing. We stayed in a bungalow right on the beach and woke to stunning views and sunsets every day. The facilities and pool are excellent and very well maintained. Our bungalow was luxurious in a beautiful Polynesian style. The restaurant served delicious food with authentic local cuisine and many additional options to suit all palates. The resort hosts a week night happy hour and a twice weekly 'Island Night' which includes a delicious buffet meal and stunning performance of an Aitutaki legend, including traditional Polynesian dancing, drums and songs, definitely worth booking in for that. Tamanu Beach provides pushbikes, snorkelling gear, kayaks and SUPs for guests to use and also offers a scooter hiring service.
I cannot praise the resort staff enough! We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and decided to have a 'Renewal of Vows' ceremony on the beach outside our bungalow at Tamanu Beach Resort. Mimi made planning the event very easy in the weeks leading up to our event. Both Erin, Mimi and their team made sure our ceremony went perfectly, including the most beautiful arbour under the coconut palms on the beach, stunningly handcrafted ei katu and neck lei, our celebrant and of course a wonderful Polynesian string band. We were privileged to meet Helen Henry and her husband Johno, what an amazing couple! Helen along with her family, created the magical Tamanu Beach Resort and Helen has written a beautiful book about her island life titled 'My Kotuku of the South Seas'. It is wonderful to read about her life in Rarotonga and the dreams her family had that built Tamanu Beach Resort.
We loved everything about Tamanu Beach Resort and will definitely be back.
Wonderful
This resort is exactly what it says - casual luxury. From Nat the friendly barman to Jackie the head housekeeper, the staff are amazing. The accommodation is large, clean and transports you immediately on holiday.
The restaurant has great food and wonderful service. Island night is a must. The restaurant team are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. On Wednesday nights there is free cocktails with the General Manager Aaron. Nat does a top job.
The resort is located on a stunning beach with swimming, snorkeling and water sports.
This year is our second visit and we will return. Perfect for families or couples.
