Pros:

Emplacement idéal pour visiter Matera, et une vue incroyable. Hôtel atypique avec ses chambres dans les grottes. On a l'impression d'être au siècle dernier mais avec tout confort d'aujourd'hui. Petit déjeuner copieux et un personnel aux petits soins.. un calme absolu.

Service de navette, parking/hôtel est parfait et aucune attente.

Cons:

La chambre est un peu sombre, mais normal dans une grotte 😉.

Unforgettable experience in a unique location - watching the sun rise over the ravine was rapturous
Pros:

Unique property in a stunning location and very sensitively restored to preserve all the amazing history, culture and character. Breakfast spread was exceptional and staff were unobstrusive but ever present. Due to the setting, the rooms are missing a few modern conveniences like air conditioning and standing showers but this was more than offset by the superb character and ambience of the property. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Cons:

Rooms had air cooling systems but not air-conditioning so we had to adapt as the Materans do, by closing all doors and windows to the sun, and taking refuge in the shade - the steps and rock-hewn nature also meant accessibility is not what you get in a modern hotel, but that is to be expected and we managed well, with the kind assistance of staff.

A place to unplug and step back in time
Pros:

We loved the romance, history and novelty of this place. Our family played cards by candlelight, perched over the river in a centuries old cave. The breakfasts were delicious. What is not to love? We unplugged and wandered endlessly through Matera at night. It was something out of a dream. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Cons:

Our son's bed wasn't attached to the frame and the bed literally ejected him and he flipped out of it. The smell in the cave is pretty dank - but IT'S A CENTURIES OLD CAVE - so take that with a grain of salt.

The Most Unique Experience In Italy
Pros:

First of all, this was the most unique experience as we stayed in a "luxury cave" - for real..!!!! You will never know an experience such as this as Matera dates back 9,000 years. Btw, a luxury cave , with all the modern day accoutrements.!!! The breakfast was the best we had in all of our Italian travels.

Cons:

Absolutely nothing. Everything was as unique as impressive..!!!!

No A/C in room, it is hot in July. it was not too bad because the room is build with sillar and had tall ceilings.
