Villa Ilios

My partner and I have just returned from an amazing stay at Villa Ilios in Halkidiki. This perfect little place is only 5 minutes walk from the beach front and main town. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants that will appeal to most. Our recommendation would be to visit the old square where you will find some great food. Villa Ilios is run by an amazing host and owner Sam who cannot do enough for you. He made our stay very special. It's an intimate hotel with 10 rooms so people get to meet up and have a friendly drink which is unique in my opinion. I recommend this wonderful place for couples and families to stay and enjoy a great experience. 10/10 from me.

The hotel is clean and comfortable and very easy to get to. 'Fira bus station is a 10 minute walk. Area is safe and has great amenities too. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. Daily room cleaning is also available. Kettle and mini fridge in the room is a great addition. Pool is clean and well kept. We went swimming twice. Staff are really nice, very lovely and always ready to help, especially Irene! She answered all our questions and Villa Ilios really made our stay in Santorini fantastic!!

Just down the road from the capital Fira with its breathtaking views of the Caldera, wonderful shops and decent restaurants.

Everything you need is a short walk from the Villa.

Room was spotlessly clean with very efficient and very quiet split type Air-con. Perfect.

There’s a small pool area that is great for hanging out and relaxing for a while at the end of a sightseeing day.

The Villa does not serve breakfast but this is not a problem as there is a fantastic bakery just down the road behind the Karterados Bus Stop.

They have seating there or you can bring your breakfast back to the Villa and sit by the pool.

A very delicious large Ham and Cheese croissant with a latte coffee is less than 5 Euro. Breakfast in Santorini for 5Euro is a bargain!

Bus services go right past the Villa and Service most of the island, including the Airport, for a maximum fare of only 2Euro.

The bus goes from right outside the Airport Departures and stops just down the road from the Villa at Karterados.

Easy walk to the Villa even with luggage and this option will save you a lot of money as Taxis are expensive.

This is great value reasonably priced accommodation, given its location and we were impressed at the high standards.

The owner is a lovely lady who will always help and give advice for tours and attractions.

We will definitely return one day.

We spent a week at Villa Ilias and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The accommodation was kept spotlessly clean and the garden and outside seating areas also really clean and tidy.
The landlady/host was super helpful and always willing to assist. We couldn’t have asked for more.
The pool area was lovely with comfortable sun beds always available and sun all day around the pool, until about 6.30
The local area offers a lovely taverna, other grill restaurants, a bakery and a supermarket all within 5 mins walk.
Would certainly recommend.

Excellent staffs with their supporting attitude !

This place was spotless. It is no frills but we are budget travelers. The staff was very helpful. The only downside was that the location was noisy. I slept with earplugs at night to solve that.

Everything was great and better than the photos. ( google for updated pics) For the very good price you won't get a 5 star accommodation, but you will get exceptionally clean rooms with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and a lovely clean pool area. it is beside a busy road but traffic noise didn't trouble us. No food or drinks available on site but supermarket, bakery and cafe bars within a 2 minute walk. Wonderful helpful staff. 10-15 minute walk to center and bus station ( steady incline)

Hotel is quite good & comfortable but I did not appreciate when I was asked to wait outside in the heat for a long time when I had turned up early and early check-in was not possible. The least I expect from a hotel is to allow a wait at the Reception area. I was specifically told that I could not wait in the Reception area.

This was my second stay at Villa Ilios. It’s still great! Ideally located between Fíra (the capital) and Kasterados, there are comfortable rooms with terraces, and a swimming pool! Eirini is incredibly friendly, helpful and fun to talk to!:-) There’s a bus stop closeby and parking is easy. Good value too!

We stayed at Villa Ilios for 3 nights in a great studio apartment.The room was perfect with a spacious clean bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette and an extra bed. Housekeeping was meticulously done daily. Special thanks to Irene for a warm welcome 🙂

Pros: very close to Fira bus terminal (easy to get to from airport/port), comfy beds, balcony, pool + sun beds, very friendly staff, clean rooms
Cons: bathroom is small, shower water is hard to contain and gets everywhere

Very good little hotel for price. Staff very accommodating, owner organised early morning transfer to airport for us for 20 euros. Rooms cleaned daily and the cleaner does a great job. Hotel is on a busy road however the shutters on window block out the majority of the noise at night. Easy walk to get into main cliff of Fira and to main bus station. Would recommend eating gyros at yogis just up the road.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Ilios! It was by far the most affordable hotel we found close to the Fira centre. It is a short walk (10 minutes) from the centre where the main bus station is located and an even shorter walk (5 minutes) from a cheap supermarket and some restaurants. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel that will get you to and from the port or airport easily, the staff will give you a timetable. The outdoor sitting area by the pool took us by surprise and was lovely to spend time in. The staff were always friendly and happy to help with any issues. The wifi also worked quite well. The beds were a little hard, but certainly not the most uncomfortable beds ever. There is a little noise at night from the road outside, however not very significant (light sleepers may find it difficult). I would definitely recommend Villa Ilios!

A small hotel with great staff and clean rooms(small bathroom). Walkable to the main tourist streets of Fira (10mins.) ; also on local bus route. Shops /cafes/ restaurants/food market 5:00min.walks.. I would definitely stay there again.

Visited this gem for a five night stay. Was in Fira so the central location drew us to this villa. Little did we know that the service and ambiance was beyond our expectations!
The rooms are small apartments: a lovely bedroom with tv, balcony and a comfy double bed, a kitchen with all amenities and a very spacious bathroom with fabulous shower!
The pool is very relaxing, great area as only 7 minute walk to centre.
What I was really happy with was the amazing service. They greeted us and booked all that we needed (tours, restaurant reservations). They even helped me surprise my boyfriend with cake and champagne on his birthday!!!
Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

Santorini is expensive so this hotel offers a good budget option. On the positive side you have price, position, swimming pool and pleasant patio, rooms with balconies, pleasant staff, adequate sized rooms. On the negative no shuttle service so you will need to organise yourself (we used Notos travel-excellent), busy main road with noisy trucks and motorcycles, tiny bathrooms (although room 9 is an exception ).
On a Sunday checkout we were not thanked or wished farewell. The regular staff were not around, possibly this was the first time we had met the owners!
Notwithstanding that this is a well located budget option.

Villa Ilios is in a really good position, close to Thira Centre. Room was a bit small ( especially for 3 people), in general structure is not so modern, but if you decide to stay in this Villa it will be easy to enjoy night life in Thira and visit others places in Santorini. I reccomand this place to those people who doesn’t care so much about rooms, but want to stay in a really comfortable position to visit the beautiful Santorini.
