Pros:

The hotel location was perfect.Hotel service was also good, clean.It was a vintage property.Although need little renovation nd in house restaurent.However we are satisfied and will visit nxt time for sure.

If you're considering Pine Ridge Hotel based on the photos, I'd strongly advise lowering your expectations. The images are extremely misleading and bear little resemblance to the actual condition of the property. What appears online as a charming heritage stay is, in reality, a poorly maintained building with damp walls, musty smells, stained surfaces, and a general lack of cleanliness.

The hotel enjoys a prime location in Chowk Bazaar, but that comes with a significant downside that many reviews fail to mention. The area remains active late into the night, making it difficult to get a peaceful night's sleep due to constant traffic and market noise.

The property undeniably has character. The British-era architecture and vintage furniture hint at what could have been a truly memorable heritage hotel. Unfortunately, instead of preserving that charm, management seems to have confused neglect with authenticity. Aging furniture, deteriorating interiors, and lack of upkeep do not create a vintage atmosphere—they create an uncomfortable one.

Cleanliness is where the experience becomes particularly disappointing. We found pigeon droppings on the curtains, sofas that looked as though mould and fungus had settled in permanently, and washrooms that were in a condition I'd rather not describe in detail. Basic hygiene standards appeared to be an afterthought.

The hotel also leans heavily into stories about being "haunted" or "spirited." Frankly, the only thing haunting this place is the complete lack of maintenance. At least a ghost might have added some entertainment value to the stay. Instead, guests are paying a premium for a property that trades on its history while doing very little to preserve it.

What makes this especially frustrating is the wasted potential. The architecture, location, and heritage value are genuinely impressive.

Stay was somewhat okay but not great because of the poor maintenance of the property.

Location of the property is very good. Size of the room is okay.

Curtains are very old and not in good condition. Maintenance of furniture particularly sofa sets is not up to mark. Bathroom needs immediate upkeep.

Good stay with happy memories.

Their restaurant is not good, also it's overpriced. They don't have any breakfast option with their own restaurant. No slippers, no complimentary water bottle and no telephone (intercom) in the room.

the beds were pathetic. I asked for king size bed or queen size but they gave two single bed joined together . Mattress was pathetic. We said to change it but for no response . Telephone was also out of service. 24 hrs light was also not there

Only the location. There is immense scope of betterment. Disgraceful management.

Cons:

The room was 206. The room service was only once in 4 days. No drinking water given .. everyday asked.. not provided. I bought myself. Last day given after standing in reception for 10 mins. Staffs were disgusting except the person, I guess who was a manger who was communicative and helpful. I asked for a definite room. It was not provided nor given importance after asking several times.

Bathroom shower not working properly. Ph. Not working. Zero room service, even after asking several times.
I have stayed here before but nothing improved. Same situation. TV is working like a possessed one. Loose connection. I have to hold myself to work. The ventilators are open and 108 wires pass through it. Privacy hampers.
No hangers in room. No hook for hanging clothes.

It should charge as HOMESTAY rate and not charge the price declaring as HERITAGE PROPERTY. The location is good and that is why I chose.

Pros:

Read a lot about those Haunted stories and all in social media but it was overall value for money stay just at prime location and view of mountain from room was stunning. Though their was unusual sound of heavy things being dragged on at night but if you can ignore it u r good to go. And don't expect much of maintenance as i asked for room spray but they couldn't provide.
