If you’re a POC, RUN!
Pros:

I am deeply disappointed by the way we were treated at this hotel. We were given only 15 minutes notice that we had to leave because of a prom event, despite being paying guests. When we calmly asked to speak with a manager to understand the situation, instead of bringing management, they sent security to confront us. Also, there were other guests at the pool and there was no security called on them.

As Black women, the way this situation was handled felt targeted, dismissive, and completely unacceptable. No guest should be treated with intimidation instead of professionalism and respect. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience. As a gold member I am disgusted and disappointed.

Exactly what I expect from a JW
Pros:

We stayed in one of the renovated rooms (Inspired, King Room) with our 2 year old and it was perfect. Location is great and the room was large and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.

Andres Meneses made our stay unforgettable
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, and a big part of that was thanks to Andres Meneses, the concierge. He truly made our experience extra special. Before our trip, I reached out to the hotel for help with beach and dinner reservations, and Andres went above and beyond by calling and texting me ahead of our arrival to make sure everything was taken care of.

He is incredibly kind, attentive, and has such a great attitude. You can tell he genuinely cares about guests. He also helped us with a room upgrade at check in, which really elevated our stay and made it even more memorable. Because of him, we will absolutely be coming back.

The hotel itself was great. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was also very large. The gym was impressive. The only downside was that the bathroom lighting was not ideal for getting ready.

Overall, a fantastic stay with truly exceptional service.

Superb Service and Exceptional Experience Worth Mentioning

My husband and I stayed at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami for two nights for a quick weekend trip to see Loan Depot Park and to explore Miami. We were so impressed with our experience at the JW Marriott Marquis that I wanted to share some highlights. Our check-in with Jules started off our stay, and we were impressed with his professionalism and quick ability to find us an available room. The room we had was a corner suite, and it was decorated beautifully. We loved the scent of the soap, shampoo, and conditioner, and the huge bathroom as well as the amazing view of the city.

We went and checked out the entertainment area on the 19th floor and enjoyed a little duckpin bowling. I wish I had asked for the name of the gentleman at the front desk because he was so kind and remembered us the next day when he saw us.

We decided to grab a bite to eat at The Met Cafe, and we had Diedier (sp?) as our server. We sat at the bar and had a very enjoyable conversation with him. He was such a wonderful server and did such a great job explaining the level of care they take at the hotel to train their staff on safety measures for allergies (since I have Celiac Disease). He recommended the chocolate lava cake which we came back for the following night after our baseball game.

We were so impressed with the level of service and how friendly everyone was at this property so much that I will always look for a JW Marriott Marquis when we travel to other large cities. Top notch hospitality!

Outstanding Concierge Team and Service
Pros:

I had an excellent stay at the Marriott Marquis in Miami. The concierge team, Andres and Nina, treated me like a VIPas they assisted me with my stay on the property and in the city.

Andres went above and beyond. He was professional, and intuitive in understanding the type of experience I was looking for. His recommendations for restaurants, beaches, and entertainment were suited to me and made my time in Miami feel personalized and effortless.

The level of service is appreciated and made the stay all that much more memoriable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Miami, especially if they value thoughtful, attentive service.

Unprofessional, nowhere near 5-star level service

Cons:

Service is a mess. We booked a room for three people (2 adults+1 child) and there was no bed for the child. After this we asked if we were ok with a downgrade… After a tantrum we finally got an upgraded room with two beds. The next day had to wait 20 minutes to get breakfast and another 20 to get back our luggage. Rooms are very old and in need of refurbishment.

From the moment our family arrived at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, we knew we had chosen the right place to celebrate such an important occasion.

We were greeted in the stunning lobby by Andres, and within seconds, he became an unforgettable part of our experience. His warm smile, genuine kindness, and the way he connected with every member of our family immediately stood out. It wasn’t just a greeting it felt like we were being welcomed by someone who truly cared.

Andres went above and beyond by offering thoughtful recommendations for activities around Miami, helping us make the most of our time together. What really impressed me was the personal touch he didn’t just point us in the right direction, he walked us to the elevator, ensured we were taken care of, and made the entire arrival feel seamless and special.

Most importantly, he made my wife feel confident that we had made the right decision in choosing this hotel and that meant everything.

Lovely 2nd time at the Marriott Marquis!
Pros:

We stayed at this hotel last year during a couples trip and had a good time. We chose this hotel again for our more recent trip given our last stay. Check in was quick and we were offered bottled water. The suite we had this time was quite large and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We love the TV in the mirror in the bathroom as a special touch. Last time we were the property, the hotel was very full and bustling. This time, it wasn't so much the case, and it felt nice. The hotel and hotel room were both immaculately clean. Although we didn't use the facilities as much as last time, everything was in good condition. We had a nice and relaxing stay at the Marriott Marquis and won't hesitate to go back on future trips!

Location is good but I personally prefer a location after the bridge. Although the staff was amazing . Resiel & Ivan from valet parking were great and also the lady from the coffee shop.

Pool Closed and 4 pm check in
Pros:

The pool closed on a Saturday at 5 pm and remained closed all day Sunday. Despite my elite status, I had to wait until 4 pm to check in. I enjoy Platinum Elite status and spent $400 per night.
While the Met Cafe Lounge and the Executive Lounge were 5 stars plus, everything else did not work for me

I drove in from Tampa and was having some car trouble. Justo, the valet manager, took it upon himself to be my night in shining armor and save the day. Truly unparalleled service and forever grateful for all of his help!

Hotel seems busy as it doesn't want to be bothered by guests and hardly pays heed to guests services- Avoidable
Pros:

With two stars iam trying to be liberal to start with..
The problem starts, right at the start from the front door men, with unwelcoming staff , who are least caring for guests arriving and helping them out if they are with luggage.Mistakenly I went to Marriott marquis property with the similar address two streets across and I could see the smile and excellent way they were handling guests ; which unfortunately was no where to be seen in this prime of a property.

The Biggest thumbs down was the guest relations and front desk staff.Hsopitality starts with a welcome and a smile , which is non existent .As a policy they have Introduced' AI ' from room phone service , which has trouble understanding other dialects , and is extremely difficult to bypass; only two things that can be a reason , either they are understaffed and overworked or they dont want your calls from rooms.
Very unhelpful and un empathetic staff ( naming a few Shall be Ms Olivia and desk staff doing night duties) were simply unconcerned and unbothered by any complaints and requests . I dont understand how they were trained or probably it could be the ethos of the organization,I guess.
Housekeeping although with a language barrier were always helpful and very kind so full marks to them
Restaurant staff was also good and courteous as expected .
The best part of certain branded and "autographed'chains, which became a brand to start with was always the ethos, guest centricity,courtesy , compassion and the way of handling guests , which I feel was non existent and lacked in all departments.
I would say Avoid and approach other Marriott hotels across the street or some other hotels nearby who pay heed to guests requests .
The culture of 'hospitality' seems dying ; coming from India /South east Asia I can see it stills exists but in a few years it will be thing of the past
