It was budget accommodation in the center of a bustling city. The staff both friendly and helpful. Both character and location are precisely what will prompt my return visit. Than you

The perfect base from which to explore Cairo
Pros:

I always have a great time at City View Hotel. The team are friendly and the hotel clean - what more do you need?! Nobody visits Cairo to stay in their hotel (I hope!) so this is the perfect centrally located base from which to experience the city.

Good budget option
Pros:

Good budget option. Location is perfect... very closed to museum, subway, restaurants, shopping area. Hotel is "vintage" but clean and in good order. Staffs friendly and helpful.

Value, friendliness and perfect location at the City View Museum Hotel
Pros:

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Cairo, the **City View Museum Hotel** offers a unique and inviting experience just a short stroll from the iconic Tahrir Square. This charming hotel is not part of the luxury chains, but rather a delightful local establishment where guests are treated like family. The warm and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.

The hotel boasts an abundance of character, with well-appointed rooms that feature numerous power outlets and excellent lighting—an often overlooked detail that enhances your stay. While the amenities are straightforward, they are thoughtfully designed to meet your needs. You get a carefully prepared breakfast, ensuring a satisfying start to each day.

City View Museum Hotel also serves as a convenient base for exploring Cairo, with various excursions readily available for those looking to delve into the city's rich history and culture. Although I didn't take advantage of the excursion services, flexibility is a hallmark of their offerings. For travelers seeking an affordable yet comfortable place to stay in Cairo, where they can quickly feel at home, City View Museum Hotel is undoubtedly a fantastic choice.

Very strange experience. Be aware.
Pros:

I booked to stay at City View Hotel. When I arrived they put me on the phone with the reception. The person on the other end told me that my room was in another building of the hotel which is 2 minutes walk down the road. He said someone would accompany me there. We walked to the building, and to my surprise it was a completely different hotel: called Amin Hotel. I didn't book at Amin Hotel and told the guy at the reception. He wasn't concerned nor did he understand my concern. I told him it's not right to move guests between hotels like that which he didn't seem to understand. If I was a woman, I would not have accepted being moved between hotels as it is potentially dangerous situation. When I Google Amin Hotel it comes up as a completely separate hotel, with poor reviews. It is a 1 star hotel, but the City View Hotel (which I made my reservation) is a 3 star hotel. The room was basic and small, but fine. The shower didn't have a door or screen, so when you shower water goes everywhere and then you have to clean it up or risk slipping and breaking your leg. The TV didn't work. The breakfast was terrible. There was nobody who spoke English so nothing was clear or communicable. The food offered was stale and of awful quality. You don't get to choose what to eat, but rather get given a few pre-selected things. There was no fruit, no yogurt, no juice. I pre-paid the hotel US$15 for a taxi to take me to the airport at 4am on Monday, but when I went down my taxi was not there.

Just great
Pros:

This hotel exceeded expectations by far. I had booked it because of the location and price and having stayed there 5 days I am certain that I could not have found a better place to stay , even at a higher price.
The view of Tahir Square is unbeatable but the rooms and the service are exceptional. In all fairness the bathroom could do with updating but this is easily forgiven in view of the price. The hotel has a genuine Egyptian feel about it, and the breakfast on the balcony overlooking the square is an experience in itself.
All in all unbeatable at the price.

Pros:

The City View Hotel was a safe and convenient place to stay while I was in Cairo. It is centrally located. The food, I thought was mediocre. There were a lot of packaged items for breakfast and the restaurant served meals that were adequate but the quality wasn’t that great. I think if the hotel wanted to improve it should revamp the entire kitchen in terms of what is available for breakfast and the quality of their food, in comparison to better restaurants and types of cooking. Also more variety of choices for meals would have been nice. The one shining star for me was Hassan, who arranged my travel for the entire country. He listened to and took in my preferences, my limitations, and my sensibilities. He listened in a way that supported me as a person and as a unique traveler with unique needs and wishes. I felt deeply seen and heard, and the conversations we had were very affirming, meaningful, and helped me understand how to navigate the country in a way I couldn’t have known or done on my own. All the arrangements for drivers and guides were punctual, and professional, as well as friendly and positive. I encourage anyone staying at the City Hotel to ask for Hassan to help them plan their trip in the way best for them. Thank you, Hassan!

Pros:

I have stayed here many times and that is why I come back.

The staff are good especially Hany the day time Manager and the lovely chef.

I was in touch before I arrived with the hotel driver via WhatsApp.

I sent him my flight details etc. He assured me that the hotel car would meet me at the airport.
He did not show up and he didn't answer my WhatsApp message.

Not a great start, I was disappointed as it was supposed to be a free shuttle for a three night stay. I had to make other arrangements late at night after thirty hours of travel.

I also asked for a double bed and overlooking Tahrir Square. I received a room overlooking the gas station and a room with two single beds.

Slightly disappointed with this stay.

Pros:

I like the place, the location the staff are good. I saw some of the cockroaches, but they changed my room right away, and they sprayed and cleaned. Overall it’s amazing, close to cairo museum, nile river, cairo tower, tahir square. More or less 20 minutes drive to citadel, St. Simon Monastery, khan el-khalili,

Good Cairo stay
Pros:

Nestled in the bustling heart of Tahrir, this charming gem of a stay proved to be an absolute delight! Despite its age, the building carries an inviting and mesmerizing character, a true testament to the timeless appeal of its surroundings. The room, a cozy haven amidst the lively pulse of the city, was spotless and well-kept, ensuring comfort that whispers of careful attention and warmth.

The staff, oh, they were the heart and soul of hospitality! Friendly doesn't quite capture their spirit; they were like guides, friends, and helpers all rolled into one, always ready with a smile and eager to make the stay not just excellent but unforgettable. Their approachability and assistance added an extra layer of ease and enjoyment to the whole experience, making it feel like finding a home away from home.

The location? Simply impeccable. Situated in Tahrir, it felt as though the city's vibrant life and attractions were at our doorstep, waiting to be explored. The convenience of being so close to the heart of the action yet able to retreat to a peaceful sanctuary was indeed the best of both worlds.

And then there was the breakfast – a culinary voyage into the rich tapestry of Egyptian flavors. Each morning was greeted with a spread that was not only delicious but offered a taste of local culture and tradition, a perfect start to a day of exploration and discovery.

Look no further for anyone seeking a stay that combines comfort, convenience, and a touch of local charm. This place is not just a stay; it's an experience, a gateway to the wonders of Tahrir, and a delightful chapter in the travel diary of any wanderer.
