Through our travels my wife and i have never witnessed such qualitative breakfast thank you so much.
Nothing could have been better everything was excellent
I went to have lunch on the back terrace with my wife, as I had a meeting at the hotel a couple of hours later. Arrived at 1200. Ordered at 1220. My wife ordered a wrap, and I ordered a simple noodle dish. Only about 6 guests in the whole place. 1245 no food. 1300: no food. Asked what is happening multiple times. Told me it is "on the way". 1315 no food. 1330 no food. 1345: No food and left. Takes 7 minutes to make a noodle dish at my favourite Thai restaurant. How long does it take to make a wrap? 5 minutes? Hopefully this was a "one-off," and it was not a special occasion. But really? What the hell is going on? We never got any kind of explanation, but multiple claims of "it is on the way" rang hollow. Will give the place a miss from now on.
As my title mentions - The Sheraton Kampala ticks all the points and sometimes even exceeds them. Stayed there for 6 nights on a business trip recently. Bill was footed by my client, so have no idea of the tariff.
One of the oldest hotels in the capital city (estd. 1938), it is spread over a vast area of 9 acres. The rooms are well curated and every possible amenity is provided.
Breakfast is an elaborate affair. There are Indian dishes in the breakfast buffet - usually uttapam or idli - but you can always request for a masala dosa to be specially prepared for you. The young ever-smiling Ugandan chef Emma gladly obliges.
For those pining for desi food, all restaurants offer a 'Taste of India'. The food was delish and ample for one person, to say the least.
They have a strict no-smoking policy though. The only place you can smoke is at an outdoor corner on the ground floor. Uganda is largely a smoke-free nation - I hardly saw anyone smoking there. Lighting up in public places is not allowed. Highly commendable and worth emulating in India.
For those looking to buy their tipple, walk down 5 minutes to the gas station down the slope.
Have the Rolex (short for 'rolled eggs') - Kampala's favourite street food. Wildly popular and affordable, it consists of a vegetable omelette rolled inside a warm chapati (a flatbread). Much like the Calcutta egg roll.
Enjoy your stay in Uganda. It is a lovely country, great weather, and the people are some of the friendliest I have ever encountered.
Only downside is that the traffic can be horrendous during office hours!!!!!!
Great location and facilities. Entertainments most evenings and good food, breakfast particularly good and a mix of African/Indian buffets in the evenings or Steak/Fish choices . Lovely gardens for a city centre hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.
Le service
The ambience is great, the coffees and pizza too but, the service stuff can be so intrusive, looking in your laptop and documents and getting unnecessarily personal which is disappointing. Some are gossipy and others flirtatious with guests, it's too much uncalled for friendliness especially the flirting.
This hotel's reception desk staffs are both inefficient and they also play sleaze when it comes to chek-in process. They are not upto the post and simply infested the area only to create customer dissatisfaction. Get them gone !

I booked a stay at Sheraton Kampala Hotel for my sister as a much-needed break, and the experience exceeded all expectations from start to finish.
From the moment I spoke with Richard the F/O manager, everything was handled with genuine care and attention. He kindly arranged a room upgrade and also helped organise a beautiful birthday surprise for her. The room was thoughtfully decorated, a cake was prepared, and the staff even came together during breakfast to sing and celebrate her birthday, which made her feel truly special and valued.
My sister has been going through a particularly demanding, and this getaway was meant to give her a moment of peace. The hotel team delivered exactly that and more. She had a completely stress-free and restorative stay, and I’m sincerely grateful to Richard and the entire team for their warmth, professionalism, and kindness in making her visit so memorable, we shall see you soon.
Very nice clean hotel - good location and facilities
We were in a room over loud music - kept me awake. This seems.to.ve a common thing with Bookings.com reservations that give you rooms in loud ordinary place. Staff made a mess of our room service order hot drinks all wrong and said it would be 20mins for hot chips - took just over 1 hour for order.
