Gold Suites

It is windy due to the hotel being at the highest point but that is also the reason for an amazing view! Our room was great view and the service was really good as well with in room breakfast! The hot tub was not as hot as we expected.

The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay and made us feel very welcome.
The only con was the lack of a spa which appears as a facility on the app and on their website. It was a big reason why we chose this hotel. It's not a deal breaker, our stay was lovely but we were never informed of this and when I asked about it before arrival, my question was ignored. So if you are looking for a spa hotel, this is not it.

Not a good experience. Toilet didn’t work, then told to use the public bathroom that looked like a janitor’s closet and they would fix our issue “tomorrow”. Issue was not fixed until midday so half our stay was without a working toilet.

The hotel staff was incredible! The room and the views were absolutely amazing. You honestly will not receive the same treatment and hospitality from another hotel; the staff was friendly, attentive and went above and beyond! Thank you everyone at Gold Suites for making this a trip to remember!

A fabulous stay.

We had a fabulous stay at the Gold Suites in June 2024. The views from the hotel are jaw dropping, the staff is so kind and helpful, and the rooms are well appointed and comfortable. In keeping with the luxury concept, you’ll get welcome drinks and nightly turn-down service and lots of fresh towels and such. We got the room with the private pool. It was so very lovely.

We struggled to decide between staying in world-famous Oia (where the famous blue-domed buildings are) or where Gold Suites is. We are SO glad we chose Gold Suites due to the droves of tourists and cruise line day trippers in Oia. We didn’t have to deal with any of that obnoxious level of tourism. There are good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel that are also cheaper than Oia.

Know that taxi rides are bracingly expensive between towns on the island, but it’s easy to get around if needed and the hotel will help with transfers. However, you may find that relaxing at the hotel is all you need!

Room was great - only thing I would change is to let people know that hot tub is one temp and which view you get when renting room.

We loved our stay at the gold suites. We were on our honeymoon and had the best time. The room was spacious and we loved the outside balcony area. The location of the hotel was great and we did not have a lot of steps. The staff were all amazing and always willing to help. The view from the room was spectacular. It was that santorini moment. The breakfast is served by time slots so if you need a certain time slot the next day go early to book yours so it doenst fill up. The portions are on the smaller side so order a bit extra.
The only downside I would say Is the hot tub wasn’t all that hot so we could not enjoy it as much. The shower was also a bit cold. Despite those two things, I would recommend the hotel and recommend staying here.

Excellent location with great sunset and Caldera views. Junior suite furniture very shabby , sofa was stained, water from shower didnt drain away properly and came back up through another drain in the bathroom and flooded it sometimes. Bed was very comfortable though. Cocktails and snacks were great from the pool bar. Outlook immediately in front of hotel had building materials thrown on to it from a building site literally next to our junior suite (although there wasnt any active building going on during our stay), which could have been camouflaged better. Staff very friendly.

Had a wonderful 5 days with Gold Suites. The room service was very good and accommodating for a vegetarian, the bar made killer cocktails, and theres plenty of food options within 5 min walk of the property. We reserved the Gold Suite and loved the spacious room, private pool and absolutely stunning view. The spa options were also plentiful, really enjoyed the cliffside massage and honeymoon treatments. The staff were super friendly and helped so much with room orders, ordering taxis, and giving reccs. There were a few issues, our in-room safe didn’t work and our shower’s hammam was a bit weak. Overall, I would definitely stay with them again.

Gold Suites made our stay very pleasant. The staff and the hotel were amazing and it smelled so good. I loved our view and the pool. Gold suites is a reason why our vacation was so wonderful, thank you very much. The staff treated us so nice and made us feel special. I definitely want to come back. I also liked the restaurants close to the hotel and the close bus stop and shops.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Gold Suites. The location was great and our particular suite offered us a lot of privacy, which isn’t easily guaranteed given the topography of the area. The views of the caldera are stunning and the property connects directly to the pedestrian path that runs from Fira to Oia.

That said, there were some things we didn’t love so much, particularly given the $600/night price tag. Reception wasn’t very helpful; WiFi was often spotty; no bath mats were provided for the shower. The breakfast was good, but they utilize a delivery slot time system and bring your order to the room. If your preferred time slot on a given day is not available, then you may be left having breakfast at odd times. When we politely requested some more drinking water, they were oddly very reluctant. Lastly, the “hot” tub was more of a “warm” tub, and when we asked about increasing the temperature, we got the runaround and it never happened.

Our stay at the Gold Suites was absolutely wonderful, relaxing and quiet. Maria and her staff went out of their way to help us with everything. View from balcony, served breakfast with caldera view and stunning sunset view were just perfect for our getaway. Hike to Skaros Rock below Imerovigli or Oai was one of the best things to do on Santorini to see dreamy view of aegean sea and make us feel "on top of the world". Location is just perfect to get to many great restaurants nearby or in downtown Fira. We wholeheartedly recommend Gold Suites for anyone 's stay in Santorini island.
