A fair view ?
Pros:

The location, the decoration.
Breakfast is good.

Cons:

Absolutely no view at all; the window gives on a wall that is a meter away.

Sehr schön
Pros:

Lage & Personal

Cons:

Schon sehr alt & die Details nicht 4 Sterne würdig aber für Irland OK sowie auch die Preise über € 300,— / Nacht!

Functional Rooms with good location
Pros:

Stayed here for one night. The hotel feels like it may be family-run, although I could be mistaken. While the room was clean and functional, it is noticeably dated. Finding a VCR and CD player in the room was quite surprising—they take up space and make the room feel neglected rather than nostalgic.

The biggest disappointment was that the photos online don’t accurately reflect the current condition of the rooms, which sets expectations higher than the reality.

Overall, it’s a functional place to spend the night, but not somewhere you’d choose for the experience. I’d only recommend booking it if you can get it at a very competitive price.

A home away from home.
Pros:

This is my 3rd time staying at this wonderful hotel. The breakfast was amazing, the attention to detail in the decor and cleanliness is top notch. The staff (especially Jim and Ann), are so warm and welcoming. It’s definitely becoming my home away from home.

disappointing and over priced hotel
Pros:

location was good in the center and there were some friendly staff members (Noreen and the young man from the reception)

Cons:

We were surprised to read all the good reviews as this did not match our experience, honestly it felt like a day time robbery. We were looking forward to this but when we arrived we saw that the hotel is much smaller and less spacious than in the pictures. The high price we paid did not match the offer in any way. We have been to many 4 star hotels in Ireland, which were much cheaper and better (half the price and with spa, restaurant open for dinner etc etc). The American lady at breakfast was impolite, the breakfast concept was matching the standard of a hostel with coffee pump and one item to select from the list amongst other things. It was also surprising that there was no lunch or dinner served at the restaurant. The room allocated for us would have been too small to fit us all and too hot in the summer so then we got an apartment which was fine, very old but definitely not worth the price we paid. We could not open the windows as there was an oil pump outside in front of the window so the place smelled like oil afterwards. If this would have been cheaper it would have been acceptable but for this price we do not recommend unfortunately.

Great location but watch out for the dog surcharge
Pros:

Location was great, breakfast was pleasant, room was large

Cons:

€30 surcharge per night for a small dog is exaggerated, shower was leaking, overall price I paid was too high for quality of service received

Top marks for service & quality in the middle of Killarney town
Pros:

Booked a room at the last minute. I called to check availability and was answered by the very friendly owner. On arrival a short time later my husband & I were greeted warmly by he and his equally attentive wife. We had an air conditioned room in a lovely, traditional style hotel with wooden floors in the bedrooms, thick carpet on stairs and lovely lamps and furniture throughout. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and served on beautiful China, no non descript, plain white crockery at Fairview. Next morning check out was dealt with by a family member from the next generation, who was just as pleasant as his parents. My message to him was to stick to what they are doing so wee - quality service in a lovely, traditional right in the middle of Killarney with 3 euros paid for overnight parking. 10/10 all round
