Breakfast was amazing piping hot and couldnt fault it well done to the cook everything was perfect
Parking area good, though poorly lit. Room good but curtains were see through and didnt prevent any early morning light. Problem with wifi, staff did all they could, and was very helpful.
Big problem with directions. Google maps took me to Hero's Place and a cul-de-sac that was difficult to turn around.
The worst hotel stay I’ve had in years, from the initial booking I got conflicting info from staff about a late check in due to being at a wedding, then I had to request the key safe code for my room and wait around for it late at night as it was never sent.
The bed was not at all comfortable! The curtains were not blackout so was woken VERY early by the sun, the bathroom didn’t have an extractor fan so the mirrored walls quickly steamed up and the condensation never disappeared so you couldn’t use them to get ready without getting a towel soaked wiping them down.
The cleanliness left a lot to be desired, dead insects and stained carpets. The walls were also paper thin.
The breakfast was pretty sub standard, bacon and sausage barely cooked.
I wouldn’t ever stay here again!
Nice quiet location and good breakfast. Signs of refurbishment underway but there was no disturbance from this.
Excellent stay
The property is in a need of repair, the staff were friendly. It felt a bit unsafe at night, and we were told by multiple people that the location is used as council housing, there were definitely some unsavoury characters around.
A truly terrible hotel experience!
Issues/problems in no particular order;
1) The wall of room 105 to the one next door must be paper thin!
I could hear the person in the next door room snoring loudly and constantly, apart from when they were coughing or using the bathroom. I could also hear everything from their bathroom as well! By 1.45 am I had not slept and decided to leave. Therefore I had a 2 hour drive home in the dark when I was extremely tired!
2) The room is shabby, with scuffed paintwork and tiles
3) The carpet has several unsightly stains
4) cobwebs, including on the outside of the window, which could easily be wiped away!
5) A shabby, uncomfortable, tatty bed and mattress (although the daddy long legs seemed to like it!)
6) A shower head which is very high up for a shorter person and cannot be lowered
7) Security - the staff explained about the door being locked at 9pm on Sundays and showed me how to do the entry code (they were very helpful, friendly and patient) However, when I returned at 10pm the door was unlocked. When I left at 2pm the door was still unlocked - not really very secure!!!
8) I could also hear a TV (from downstairs?) and heavy footsteps of people running around
Northop Hall Hotel had beautiful grounds and loads of parking. It was a little out of town so you would need a vehicle. The room was comfortable but if you have heavy luggage…be warned that there was no elevator!
Overall, it was a great stay for a night. The staff were lovely!
Stayed whilst working in the area,
Hotel set in Beautiful grounds, had a nice view room,
All sraff were great,
Especially cook at breakfast.
Would recommend hotel for a stay.
Beautiful location, well kept grounds. Room small with limited surface areas for storage. No bedside light.
The hotel did the job, but two issues, the first major one is the location does not correlate with the map on the Hotels.com site, which indicates it is in Mold town centre. So when leaving Mold after visiting, I was surprised to see a 15min journey, meaning I was 30mins from the location I was visiting on Saturday. Secondly, small shower gel and shampoos still provided, not eco friendly.
Stay was fine, basic room and we couldn’t get anything to eat or drink at the hotel so had to drive out
The positives: Lovely check in lady, large room, very comfortable bed, dog friendly, most areas recently refurbished, access from A55. For the price, this place is excellent.
Breakfast was good, I had a freshly cooked breakfast, toast & a yoghurt. Decor is generally fresh. Plenty of parking. Nice, spacious grounds. Large dining room.
The parts for improvement are, glasses in the room/bathroom, a hotel info pack (I had to call to check the breakfast times as forgot & nowhere to see it). A bit more cleaning of communal areas (some cobwebs in the windows in the dining room).
It was very quiet, only a few people staying. I really hope the refresh brings more people in and they could consider opening the bar/restaurant in the evenings.
All in all though, I'd definitely stay there again. Great value, lovely grounds and genuinely the best sleep I've had in a long time on the comfortable bed.
The place will no doubt be beautiful once the refurbishment is complete. Set in beautiful grounds. However in the interim it has the feel of a cross between Faulty Towers and the marie celeste. No staff on site after 9pm and everyone left to fend for themselves. A couple of guests got locked out because the outdoor entry code was not shared with them by the receptionist. Saw them banging on the door.
Room was ok, reception staff were friendly and showed us to our room. Breakfast was awful took an hour and a half to be given a menu and then had to remind the guy to take our order and everyone around us said the food was awful and we are wasting our time so we went elsewhere
Lovely welcome from the staff Told us a little about the history of the hotel.Lovely comfy room-very spacious.Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning Definitely stay again Thank you
This was booked for 3 of my colleagues, on arriving to the first the bed collapsed when a bag was put on it, the room was changed only to then have the shower spray water all over the bathroom and into the main room.
Next room didnt even have a wardrobe just plastic hooks on tge wall that couldn't even hold the weight of a T-shirt.
Turn out the hotel is also being used as a bail hostel.
Pleasant stay, room was spacious and comfortable, windows didnt open which as well as making the room stuffy seems unsafe in the event of fire. Quiet, lovely surroundings.
It was lovely.
Interesting location
