Really relaxing stay in great location , nice vibes and good nearby restaurants
Pros:

Really lovely hotel on pretty canal. Feels small and staff are all very friendly in an understated way. Great breakfast cooked to order. We had a triple room with little garden outside . Very nice . Real sense of relaxation. Also great restaurants nearby.

Gut gelegen, freundlich und stylish
Pros:

Sehr freundliches Personal. Guter Spirit im Gebäude. Cooles Design des Hotels. Die Lage des Hotels mitten in Amsterdam und doch ruhig.

Cons:

Vorbestellung Frühstück - Auswahl und Menge schwierig einzuschätzen. Und dann je nach Wahl doch eher teuer.

Pros:

The hotel was perfect. Only 10-15min walking distance from the heart of the city. Very clean and comfortable.
They give us welcome drinks.
It was perfect night

Cons:

I just didn't like the fact that we had to leave after just one night.

Cadre parfait, propreté idem, literie à revoir :)
Pros:

Propreté irréprochable. Personnel accueillant, très beau cadre.

Cons:

Un peu déçue d’avoir un si petit lit pour deux personnes. De plus la literie était assez molle.
L’hôtel n’est pas responsable, mais bcp de portes qui claquent durant la nuit.

Ein wunderbar ruhiges, zentrales Stadthotel
Pros:

Das Frühstück war wunderbar. Es gibt kein Buffet, aber man kann am Tag vorher angeben, was man gerne möchte und bekommt dann alles an den Tisch gebracht. Es ist alles frisch, genug und sehr lecker. Glutenfrei ist gar kein Problem. Das Personal ist total freundlich und zuvorkommend, der Service perfekt. Die Lage des Hotels ist toll, absolut zentral, aber sehr ruhig.

Da gibt es nichts.

Stunning small hotel!
Pros:

Located in a quiet yet accessible area with very helpful staff. We stayed in a large room which was so nice after being in a tiny cruise cabin.

Pros:

The view of the canal from the room was beautiful. The location was great - handy for the station, restaurants, shopping, tourist hotspots but in a quiet backwater with no night time disturbance (outside or in). Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Cons:

The room was shabby, tired and in desperate need of a makeover. Black paint everywhere - all woodwork and doors, the rickety ikea-type storage unit with open hanging rack (with black plastic coat hangers) - even the ancient radiator had been given a lick of black to cover the rusty white original (visible on the top). Walls covered in a dated geometric black and white wallpaper.

As mentioned the multi-function unit provided for storage, hanging, and to house the safe and tea / coffee making facilities was tacky (and largely black!) and totally inappropriate for a 4* hotel (more like something a student would buy for digs). And moreover it was apparent that it has been brought in to replace another more substantial unit since the footprint of that original was clearly visible and undisguised with a great ugly gap in the (cheap) laminate flooring that had been cut to fit around it.

And while we're on the cheap laminate flooring: did no-one consider a rug or two might cosy it up a bit?

Superking size bed was comfortable but had only a king size duvet. Bed was also VERY high (anyone with short legs or any kind of mobility issues would need steps to get on it!

Double room, only ONE spare pillow provided (additional had to be requested).

Furniture (including pointlessly large square table painted black of course) was chipped and fabric worn. Curtains thin and cheap (and unlined).

No English / breakfast tea bags - just a bowl of various fruit teas. Staff member seemed not to understand why that was not an acceptable alternative. After bringing milk (and more fruit teas!) and declaring the hotel had 'run out' of normal tea (!) eventually a couple of tea bags were located.

There's no phone in the room; just a tablet to send a message to reception... I only did this once and despite requesting a reply to confirm receipt, no-one ever responded.

No double glazing or sound proofing of windows which are old (catches very loose) and drafty.
