Difficult stay with room semi flooded by spa. Great management with moving us into another room. Bed in the room we move

Pros:

The view was this hotels only saving grace. I would also add the gardens were well maintained, and the food was of a good quality.

Cons:

Everything else. Hotel gives "Bates Motel" vibs. Reception staff didn't seem to have any authority and had to check with the owners they didn't seem well trained. Again, the restaurant staff were better. I actually only stayed the two nights managed to get the other nights refunded after the owners approved. It's very old-fashioned, not really a hotel by modern standards very dated. The rooms hadn't been cleaned that well I had to point out things to the cleaner. The photo below is of the air vent in the bathroom after it had been cleaned before it was thick with dust. I tried to use the trails, but they were blocked with fallen trees. The gym has some weights but not really a proper range of equipment. Booked well thought I'd booked a massage, but the reception staff had put it on the wrong day even after ringing the spa manager to make sure there was availability...so no massage 🙄..I was offered a massage fir a couple of days later but by now I'd had enough.

When you need a break from the business
Pros:

The environment. Quiet.
The staff were amazing from the front desk to waiters, thank you.
I needed space away from home and it was perfect for me to be grounded. The room I had was number 5 and I had a view of trees. I needed peace and I got it.

Good break from city
Pros:

The location is good, sraff are wonderful and the food was amazing. Overall a good stay.

Cons:

Just the weather during the stay which is out of everyone's control really. No microwave in room 11 but not a biggy.
