The most beautiful palace in the best possible spot in Matera
Pros:

Absolutely amazing palace next to the Duomo ... the room was massive the ceilings were high and the bed huge.
It ticked all the boxes and the breakfast delicious.
We paid for parking in their courtyard and it was worth it, they parked the car and it was super convenient.
What a beautiful spot.
I would highly recommend

Cons:

Honestly nothing but for travelers looking for perfection this may not be for you as it is not styled to perfection.

Pros:

We had a very enjoyable stay. The property itself is truly unique, set in a historic building with an incredible atmosphere and character. Staying here felt like an experience rather than just a hotel stay. For the architecture, ambience, and overall setting, I would definitely give it 10/10.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. There was occasionally a small language barrier, as some team members mainly spoke Italian rather than English, but this was never a significant issue and certainly didn’t affect our overall experience.

The Wi-Fi was quite poor, but I don’t consider this a reason to lower my rating. Given the property’s location in the historic cave district of Matera, I understand that internet connectivity can be challenging, so this is something I can overlook.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Matera, making it the perfect base for exploring the historic center on foot. The hotel also offers a private courtyard parking area, which was extremely convenient, although it costs €30 per day and is not included in the room rate.

Overall, I would happily stay here again if I return to Matera, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable stay in this beautiful city.

Cons:

The main reason I’m giving a 9 instead of a 10 is the breakfast. While the quality was good, the variety was somewhat limited. More importantly, there was clearly a shortage of staff. A single person was responsible for preparing coffees, serving guests, clearing tables, and constantly refilling the buffet. It was simply too much work for one person, which resulted in delays and several items not being replenished promptly. I believe adding another staff member during breakfast service would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

Une adresse exceptionnelle qu’on aurait presque envie de garder pour soi !
Pros:

Situation centrale mais au calme. Le confort des chambres. La superbe salle et le buffet de petit déjeuner. L’aide précieuse du voiturier pour garer la voiture dans la cour fermée de l’hôtel.

Matera lenyűgöző! El kell tölteni ott egy éjszakát de inkább kettőt. Különleges a város esti fényekkel kivilágított atmoszférája, Utazásaim egyik legcsodálatosabb élménye. A szállodai szobából panoráma a városra, és egy tetőterasz, ahonnan lélegzetelállító a táj. Mi május 2-án voltunk, akkor nem működött még a tetőteraszon a bár, de a látvány gyönyörű volt. Csodálatos élmény.

Cons:

Érthetetlen volt számunkra, hogy csak egy fent rögzített zuhanyfej volt. Hiányzott a kézi tusoló. Talán csak férfi vendégekre vártak? Hihetetlen, hogy így újították fel a hotelt. Nem gondoltak arra, hogy kézi tusolót is tervezzenek. Érdekes, ez téma volt a a vendégek között, az asztali beszélgetéseknél. A nők hiányolták. Mi is.
A hotelhez autóval nehéz eljutni. Küldnek előtte pontos leírást, de izgalmas az óvároson, turisták között eljutni a hotelbe. Ott aztán már szépen beparkolja a személyzet az autót. Utólag már szép emlék, de előtte izgultunk.

Ubicación excelente. Edificio muy bonito. Experiencia especial el poder dormir en un Palazzo renacentista con historia.

Cons:

Falta mantenimiento. La llave de la puerta no funcionaba (tuvieron q venir varias veces y conseguimos hacer un apaño pero no se podía cerrar con vueltas y no era tan seguro). El teléfono tampoco funcionaba. Bañera bonita pero incómoda y muy poco práctica (tenías q agacharte para no echar agua fuera de la bañera). Se echa de menos una ducha.
Falta de variedad de frutas en el desayuno.

Cons:

Non ci è stato comunicato che dovevamo lasciate la chiave in reception prima di uscire, quindi al nostro ritorno in nottata abbiamo trovato il portone d'ingresso chiuso in quanto in reception non avevano la nostra chiave e pensavano che stessimo in stanza. Siamo stati quasi "rimproverati" per non aver lasciato la chiave ma, appunto, non sapevamo di doverlo fare.
La pulizia della stanza non era eccezionale, c'erano cumuli di polvere negli angoli e macchie di umidità sulle piastrelle della vasca da bagno.
La colazione poco assortita.

La posizione e la location d’epoca molto ben mantenuta la possibilità di parcheggiare dentro l’hotel.

Cons:

Qualche carenza nella pulizia della stanza. Forse un po di polvere.
