We chose St Andrew's for it's history, it mainly lived up to our expectations.
The public areas, in particular the bar, snooker room, and parts of the restaurant and lounge have a fantastic patina and ooze old world charm. Our bedroom and bathroom were comfortable but showed a couple of signs of the age of the building - some inconsistency in shower temperature and the washbasin being in the bedroom rather than the bathroom.
All aspects of the service were fantastic, we particularly liked the hot water bottles in the bed at night (it's chilly almost 1900m above sea level - there are electric heaters in the room as well), and appreciated the staff lighting the fire in the lounge around mid afternoon.
Our only real criticism is that the dinner menu in the restaurant was somewhat underwhelming. On the other hand the breakfast buffet is superb.
We had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was amazing and everyone was so friendly. Definitely a place I’d visit again – highly recommended! 🙂
Excellent stay. Could not fault anything
Beautiful colonial hotel. Immaculate gardens. Took you back to a bygone age.
Food and service first class. Would definitely recommend
Wonderful welcome after a long windy beautiful road trip. Attention to detail is touching. The hot water bottles delivered to our rooms made us smile (we’re from Scotland so right at home here!)
St Andrews Hotel is such a beautiful place to stay. The setting is serene up in the mountains surrounded by tea plantations and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The room is comfortable with a lovely view from the balcony. We enjoyed cocktails and dinner. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. I want to return to Sri Lanka just to stay here! 🤍
Good service rooms value locations
A very beautiful hotel- so relaxing and chilled. Lovely decor, background music, very comfortable room, very tasty food and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Nuwan is charming and made our pre dinner drinks and afternoon tea experience a pleasure. Would definitely St Andrew’s to friends and would love to come again.
The property is so beautiful. It was my second visit to this place. The rooms are so aesthetically done, the staff is great. The whole property is amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome family stay. Great facilities. Lovely attentive staff. Beautiful gardens and historical buildings. Short walk into town. Restful peaceful stay. Highly recommend.
The food, ambience and service were superb.. a very friendly “ old style” property surrounded by wonderful gardens and views down the valley.
We had a wonderful one-night stay at Jetwing St. Andrew’s, Nuwara Eliya. The hotel is beautifully maintained and has a charming atmosphere, clearly showing the great effort of the resident manager and the entire team.
A special thank you to the F&B team ( Sangeeth, Arshad, Janith, Thakshila, and Mangala ) for their warm and attentive service. Our dining experience was excellent because of them.
We would also like to appreciate Ms. Gowry, the Guest Relations Executive, who was fantastic and frequently checked on us to make sure everything was perfect during our stay.
Even though it was just one night, it was truly a memorable experience. Highly recommended! Thank you.
Lovely old colonial building, with some nice fresh room renovations. We stayed in a “ Heritage” room. Beautiful gardens and surroundings. The staff were charming and attentive. Overall service was excellent. One minor issue with the shower not draining away, a staff member attended promptly but the issue was only partially resolved so I suspect the next guest would have had a similar issue. Breakfast was excellent. We didn’t eat at the hotel in the evening so can’t comment on the restaurant. A nice, if unexpected, touch was the delivery of hot water bottles just before bedtime 🙂Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to other travellers.
First class service,
Good food.
Different experience, roaring open fires, hot water bottles.
It was really careful and very good in every aspect
We spent two nights at this hotel last month and we left thinking we should have stayed longer. The setting is lovely, beautiful gardens, lots of lounge space, attentive staff, good food, large bedrooms with comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. It has it all
Such a classy, old school hotel with plenty of colonial touches. We stayed here during a tour and the only problem was that we only stayed one night when two would have been even better.
As it is our 25th Wedding anniversary, we were greeted with a decorated, upgraded room with a garden walk-out. We were also given the most exquisite chocolate cake - the Sri Lankans know how to make good cake!! Dinner was a set menu but with options for each course. We had to forego the soup course though as we would have been too full for the cake.
As with all other Jetwings that we stayed out during the tour, the staff couldn’t be any more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. As this was “Little England” it does get chilly in the evenings but they delivered us two hot water bottles.
Such an amazing experience - would strongly recommend (and two nights if you can)
Thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality at this venue. Clive and Gowry were very attentive with their customer service. Namal in the restaurant was extremely helpful and thoughtful. The bar staff were informative and provided useful suggestions on things to do. Would recommend!
