The hotel gave us a great stay in all respects. The welcome was excellent and that standard was maintained throughout our short but thoroughly enjoyable stay.
They have carefully nurtured and maintained the heritage value of the property. The garden is well maintained. Very caring staff. Their fire place comes alive in the evenings during winter and it’s a great experience to enjoy the ambience. Great food.
stay was perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful the food is delicious the colonial building is very special and it was a pleasure staying here specially Nishanth, Clive, Gowry, Navodya
Nishanth from front office was polite, helpful, professional, and cooperative. Helped make my stay easy and uncomplicated.
nothing, it was gorgeous
Nishanth was very helpful since the checkin the property is very Scottish and highly recommended for a Scottish experience
The open fires, the bar, the gardens and decent sized room.
Shower temperature very difficult to control (probably easily sorted but we did not mention it during our stay), restaurant service very slow with endless nice waiters asking us the same questions several times but then nothing happens! There seem to be so many members of staff hanging around but everything takes an age apart from Clearing away plates which happens almost before the last mouthful!! Wi-fi was not working in our room on first day and sorting this took a long time with us having to chase every so often as we needed it for work.
Our room is perfect for our family of 4 with very comfortable beds. Shower has very good water pressure. Staffs are all very friendly. Hotel manager comes around to check if everything is up to expectation every time we find dine at the restaurant. On site restaurant is excellent with generous portion. My kids who haven't quite got used to Sri Lanka cuisines absolutely love the spaghetti bolognese and rate it as the best they've ever had. All other food we had on site were also great. The turndown service with heat pack was a pleasant surprise for us.
By far the one thing that I prefer to not have occurred is the 5am chanting from temple nearby. Nothing practical the hotel could do about that though. Otherwise, just a few other very minor points that are not worth worrying about:
1. The location of the toilet paper is a little bit far from the toilet;
2. Shower temperature varies every now and then making finding the optimal temperature difficult at times.
The hotel was really nice in general, great food and a good room! The staff were also super friendly. When it was chilly inside the staff lit a fire. :)
Nice and cozy hotel. Very friendly and helpful personnel. Lots of food in breakfasts and dinners. Having heaters in rooms. Pleasant stay.
The experience was beyond excellent from the moment we arrived. From the GM Dilip to Kalum and the team at front desk, to Tivanka and Vijitha and Saman I think the Bell boys, to the Executive Chef and Ananda and the team along with Pabodi...all made sure our stay was ery memorable and fun. Thank you very much
The experience at Jetwing St. Andrews is like no other. The hotel is a beautifully preserved historical building, and the atmosphere is incredibly calm and relaxing. The staff provide excellent service and always go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome.
A special mention goes to Gowri from Customer Relations, who gave us great recommendations for places to visit in Nuwara Eliya.
The food was on a whole other level-every dish served was fresh, flavourful, and offered a truly unique dining experience.
I’ve already made plans to visit again with my family, and I’m really looking forward to it.
Such a beautiful atmosphere pervades this old colonial era hotel at Nuwara Eliya.
From the moment you are greeted at the bottom of the steps and led to the lobby and greeted with a warm cup of pumpkin soup produced with vegetables from the hotel garden, you begin to realise that this is going to be a different hotel experience to others we have had in our Sri Lankan travels.
Our room, 105, overlooking the beautifully maintained gardens complete with topiary hedges, had a beautiful old world charm where we slept very comfortably on the two nights we stayed. The bed was very comfortable, with an excellent bathroom. The outdoor seating was so pleasant to enjoy overlooking the gardens.
As it was Christmas and Boxing Days during our stay the hotel was appropriately and tastefully decorated with Christmas cheer. The restaurant was spacious and provided some excellent meals thanks to the excellent chef and his team who also took great personal interest in making sure my wife who has a gluten intolerance, had a wide choice of options to choose from.
We find that it is the staff always make a hotel feel particularly wonderful and inviting and in the case of St Andrews, we were met with nothing but kindness and consideration. The cosy bar at night with the roaring log fire was hosted by some really wonderful young men who made us feel very much at home.
A special mention for the smiling and ever helpful Pabodha who looked after us so beautifully in the dining room. Pabodha was such an outstanding example of true Sri Lankan hospitality and as a young woman just commencing her career in hospitality we have no doubt she will have an excellent future ahead of her.
The hotel is so fortunate to have such outstanding staff looking after guests like ourselves. Thank you to everyone who made our stay such a memorable one.
lovely old school hotel, feels like a scottish hotel in a beautiful surroundings above the city. The best part is the fantastic breakfasts.
Located in one of the best hill stations in Sri Lanka, Jetwings St. Andrews is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Courteous and observant staff who focus on the customer experience always and raise the bar on service delivery. Well curated gardens. Impeccable food and a wide spread to suit diverse palates. The hotel has carefully preserved the vintage ambience of more than a century old property. Overall one of the best parts of my Sri Lankan vacation in December 2025.
Amazing stay - friendly and helpful staff - rooms are quiet - breakfast is excellent - good location with a great park - excellent service
Had a beautiful time and the hospitality was amazing! Special shout out to Pabodha that served us. She was very friendly and did her job very well!
Excellent hospitality, very friendly and efficient staff and first class treatment all round. The period charm of the room, decor and balcony adds to the quality of the experience.
Service was fantastic, right from the person who ushered us in to the waiters and everyone else.
Very colonial. The building, billiards table, corridors, rooms and decor. I can’t say anything negative of this place. I’d recommend it to anyone
Really loverly stay in a beautiful Hotel, just like a top Hotel in Scotland hot water bags in bed was a great touch, gardens fireplace also great, would luv to stay again
