Colonial Charm
Pros:

We chose St Andrew's for it's history, it mainly lived up to our expectations.
The public areas, in particular the bar, snooker room, and parts of the restaurant and lounge have a fantastic patina and ooze old world charm. Our bedroom and bathroom were comfortable but showed a couple of signs of the age of the building - some inconsistency in shower temperature and the washbasin being in the bedroom rather than the bathroom.
All aspects of the service were fantastic, we particularly liked the hot water bottles in the bed at night (it's chilly almost 1900m above sea level - there are electric heaters in the room as well), and appreciated the staff lighting the fire in the lounge around mid afternoon.
Our only real criticism is that the dinner menu in the restaurant was somewhat underwhelming. On the other hand the breakfast buffet is superb.

The best hotel experience
Pros:

St Andrews Hotel is such a beautiful place to stay. The setting is serene up in the mountains surrounded by tea plantations and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The room is comfortable with a lovely view from the balcony. We enjoyed cocktails and dinner. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. I want to return to Sri Lanka just to stay here! 🤍

It was truly a memorable experience 😍
Pros:

We had a wonderful one-night stay at Jetwing St. Andrew’s, Nuwara Eliya. The hotel is beautifully maintained and has a charming atmosphere, clearly showing the great effort of the resident manager and the entire team.

A special thank you to the F&B team ( Sangeeth, Arshad, Janith, Thakshila, and Mangala ) for their warm and attentive service. Our dining experience was excellent because of them.
We would also like to appreciate Ms. Gowry, the Guest Relations Executive, who was fantastic and frequently checked on us to make sure everything was perfect during our stay.
Even though it was just one night, it was truly a memorable experience. Highly recommended! Thank you.

A lovely overnighter at Jetwing St Andrews Hotel
Pros:

Lovely old colonial building, with some nice fresh room renovations. We stayed in a “ Heritage” room. Beautiful gardens and surroundings. The staff were charming and attentive. Overall service was excellent. One minor issue with the shower not draining away, a staff member attended promptly but the issue was only partially resolved so I suspect the next guest would have had a similar issue. Breakfast was excellent. We didn’t eat at the hotel in the evening so can’t comment on the restaurant. A nice, if unexpected, touch was the delivery of hot water bottles just before bedtime 🙂Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to other travellers.

Classy and colonial
Pros:

Such a classy, old school hotel with plenty of colonial touches. We stayed here during a tour and the only problem was that we only stayed one night when two would have been even better.

As it is our 25th Wedding anniversary, we were greeted with a decorated, upgraded room with a garden walk-out. We were also given the most exquisite chocolate cake - the Sri Lankans know how to make good cake!! Dinner was a set menu but with options for each course. We had to forego the soup course though as we would have been too full for the cake.

As with all other Jetwings that we stayed out during the tour, the staff couldn’t be any more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. As this was “Little England” it does get chilly in the evenings but they delivered us two hot water bottles.

Such an amazing experience - would strongly recommend (and two nights if you can)
