Experience was great! Edison needs to get a lot of recognition because he really made our stay better. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Whether it was quickly handling requests, offering helpful recommendations, or simply checking in to make sure everything was perfect, he consistently exceeded expectations.
What stood out the most was his genuine attitude and willingness to go the extra mile without hesitation. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated to providing exceptional service, and it made a huge difference in my overall experience.
Thank you again for such outstanding service!
Thank you, Edison, for your hospitality, outstanding service, and support during our stay at the hotel.
This Hotel Gets better and better every time I stay. The welcome is always very pleasurable, in the heart of el POBLADO you can walk anywhere you want from the Hotel and anything you need is just steps away.
Let's talk about what makes it so great the bed is comfortable, room spacious and nice, room options with jacuzzi is also available but what makes the hotel great for me its the staff by far.
While continuing on my usually schedule when I visit I was invited to an event in the hotel which turned out to be great. Met the Hotel head Chef Yamid who while hosting the event went out of his way to Make me feel comfortable and at home seeing that I was at the event by my self he not only introduced him self to me but sat down with me every couple minutes he had free. Yamid knowledge and love of food was only outshined by his dedication to Ensuring the best the best experience for the guest in his restaurant.
Which brings me to the restaurant staff who also saw me alone and at times uncomfortable being it was valentines day and all and I was the only one sitting alone and all took extra care to pass by and see if I was okay and even talk to me about different things like the food, chef and the wine presenter that was present. It just felt like I was surrounded by friends when ever I saw staff members I did not see employees but instead felt like a good friend was present.
Moving on to the rest of my stay I have to say that the Hotel Concierge or Host Jessica ,who invited me to the dinner was very professional and the architech of my experience as she probably is with all of the guest.
From the beginning to the end she helped me with all my needs and ensured I was comfortable my entire stay. Her attention to detail and work are the reason I now am open to trying New types of food. Previously to staying at the CHarlee I stayed at the four Sasons in Bogota and thought there was no better experience but thanks to the Jessica, Yamid and the rest of the staff at the Charlee Ive been proven wrong. A true testament to the staff being the heart of the guest experience. Please Check out the photos below of my dinner.
I received a free upgrade when I arrived. The room was really great.
The pool was pretty small and it wasn't really practical to use. The restaurant did not have enough healthy choices, although the breakfast was pretty good. More choices on the menu for lunch and dinner would be a big plus.
Breakfast and location
The gym- too many external classes that you cannot use the equipment
Location
Very dark rooms and double glazing not robust enough to keep out street noise
The Charlee is a lovely hotel in a wonderful area. It is listed as 5 star hotel, and the services available and the staff are right on par with that. If you are coming from North America, you may feel that’s its more in line with 4 star, but I will still say it’s a really great hotel with wonderful staff.
We had one of the aqua suites with a hot tub on the balcony, which was fantastic!!! I highly recommend spending the extra on that.
The breakfast was decent, the little bar that came around in the evening was cute and fun.
Overall we really loved it.
Note: they do charge a fee per night per person, this was in addition to our prepaid room rate. I had seen this in other reviews so I wasn’t surprised by it. I believe it was $50/ea per night.
Me encantó el hospedaje en este hotel. El servicio y la amabilidad de todo el personal. Las instalaciones son muy lindas y cómodas.
Súper recomendado y además tiene un rooftoop hermoso porque tiene una vista espectacular de medellín.
There is so much more to The Charlee than what you see online. I’ve stayed all over the city, and the level of service and the 'extra' amenities here are unmatched. Rooftop bar/pool - free breakfast, laundry service! you’re constantly discovering new benefits during your stay that make it feel like a true VIP experience. Easily the top-ranked spot in Medellín for me!"
my TV is stuck on audible Spanish language, whatever function, movement, selection you do with the remote, she's non-stop speaking.
Location
Breakfast, very simple and eggs undercooked
Emplacement de premier choix pour visiter Medellin.
Personnel et bar du denier étage (rooftop) pas très avenant.
Atención del personal, desayuno y ubicación
Nada, todo estuvo perfecto
My wife and I spent 3 nights here, largely due to the positive TA reviews. While the hotel is pretty nice, we found it very inconsistent.
On the plus side, it’s in a great neighborhood - lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. Also, the front desk people and housekeeping were top notch.
We also loved their happy hour. They bring a bar cart to your room around 5-6:00 with a free drink. I have not seen that before.
We didn’t spend anytime at the rooftop bar and pool but they looked great.
Mixed results for the room. I inadvertently got a slight upgrade from a Spice suite to an Acqua suite with a jacuzzi in the extra room. The bedroom and bathroom were fine. The extra room, however, didn’t add any value. The jacuzzi took up a lot of space and really made the suite look dated. The furniture in the extra room was extremely cheap. The only light put off light equivalent to a small candle.
The biggest problem with our stay was the loud music from nearby bars and the hotel’s rooftop bar (one night). We were on the 6th floor so I suspect that a lot of rooms have the issue. The noise was a bigger problem for my wife. She slept poorly every night, even with ear plugs.
A disappointing breakfast was included in our room rate. Not a lot of variety and the service and food were uneven. E.g. hard fruit; some hot dishes were cold; inconsistent service,
For our ride to the airport we made the mistake of booking a taxi through the hotel because the taxi supposedly took credit cards. They didn’t. They also charged us 25% more than our inbound taxi. We should have stayed with our original plan and used Uber.
I liked some aspects of the hotel a lot but probably wouldn’t stay here again due to the noise issues and the below average breakfast.
