We stayed at Marriott Vacation Club Pulse, South Beach for 2 nights in July as a family. While the location is excellent, we left feeling that the overall experience didn't quite justify using Marriott Vacation Club points.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It's right in the heart of South Beach, just a very short walk from the beach, with countless restaurants, cafés and shops nearby. Everything is easily walkable, making it a great base for exploring Miami Beach.
Our room was mostly clean, and the bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. However, there wasn't much of a view, and the bathrooms are starting to feel dated and could definitely benefit from refurbishment. Unfortunately, I was also bitten quite badly during our stay, which took away from the experience.
Check-in was straightforward and efficient, although there wasn't anything particularly memorable about the service.
One thing to note is that there is no pool. Under normal circumstances this probably wouldn't have bothered us because the beach is so close, but during our visit South Beach was covered in large amounts of sargassum seaweed. That made the beach much less enjoyable than we'd expected, so not having a pool became a much bigger drawback.
We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but we'd highly recommend Motek nearby for a great meal.
Overall, this hotel's location is undoubtedly its biggest strength, and if being in the centre of South Beach is your priority then it does that very well. However, considering the room quality, lack of facilities and our overall experience, I didn't feel it offered good value for Marriott Vacation Club points. Personally, I probably wouldn't stay here again.
We stayed in this Marriot property as hotel gold club members. The advantage of this hotel is proximity to the cruise ports in Miami and it’s surrounded by well known restaurants. One of the restaurants located just infront of the property is Havana 1957 a famous Cuban Restaurant.
It has a small lobby and only 6 suites/rooms that have views of the beachfront. The lobby that has a reception desk is quite cosy and has muted colours.
Our room was quite underwhelming compared to other Marriot Vacation Club properties that we have visited.Except for two lamps in the living and bed area and some pin lights in the small kitchen, the open layout is dimly lit.
The room was very nice. The happy hours and special events were great including the salsa dancing lessons.
This property is nice overall. I liked my experience there and I would go back to this location again if I am back in Miami. The room was very spacious and the staff very friendly and accommodating. I liked that the Havana 1957 was right downstairs and that it was across the street from the beach and on the strip. The one thing I will say I absolutely did not like is the sales pitch at the concierge desk upon entry. The lady was a great person and felt very warm, but I am on vacation and do not want to be lured into a 90 minute business meeting about properties. This feels like a timeshare deal and unbecoming of Marriott. However, maybe I am not fully appreciating the Vacation Club experience. If that is your thing, have at it. I just wanted to be left alone.
Amazing location, just in front of the sea/beach. Miriam is very professional and she makes you feel at home.
This is a fantastic hotel nestled in the middle of South Beach, but yet not as busy as other parts of Ocean Drive. We were close enough to everything that we could walk wherever we needed to go, and the beach was right across the street. The room was wonderful with a very comfortable bed. We ended most nights on the 5th floor patio to unwind.
A special thanks goes to Edward, Haley and JC for making the stay all the more enjoyable. We are looking forward to the next time we can return!
Great location on Ocean Drive - we loved this hotel, it was our first time, but will be back. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms spacious. The rooftop for the happy hour is a nice touch and very pleasant to sit and look out to the ocean. We enjoyed the coffee each morning and went for a lovely bike ride early one morning; you can use the bikes for a small charity donation. The beach cart is fantastic. But what makes this hotel even better is the staff - big shout out to Jesse, Jesus and JC who made our family stay so special - always friendly and smiling - nothing too much trouble. Thank you!
Excellent location, right on Ocean Drive. Easy access to everything, and the ocean is just across the street (to watch the sunrise). No need for a car. One can walk to most of the restaurants. One can Uber or take the hop-on, hop-off for other attractions. Historical building. Clean. Our room (very clean) faces a quiet alley, with little view, which we did not mind. Given the building's historical layout, I don't believe any room has an unobstructed ocean view. The rooftop lounge facing Ocean Drive is between the ocean and the top-floor rooms. The rooftop is a nice place to sit and watch the ocean in the evening. The staff was excellent. We will return.
We love this hotel. It has such a boutique feel and is well equipped and clean. We made use of the beach trolley with all you need to have a relaxing day on a fabulous beach which is literally over the road. So many plus points to this property and very helpful welcoming staff. You are on the front with so many restaurants and bars to choose from - a genuinely brilliant hotel.
Right in the Art Deco section and close to the beach. Great restaurant, activities, happy hour every day, special pop-ups. Friendly staff.
The only minor thing was that the mattress was a bit worn and slanted to the sides and the pillows weren’t the most co fortable but everything else was great.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Vacation club! The close proximity to the beach was exactly what I desired from my stay in Miami Beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms and lobby were very clean. The 5th floor terrace was also a great place to chillout and take in the scenery. Would Highly Recommend a stay here!
I spent a night at this MVC location before embarking on a Norwegian cruise out of PortMiami. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, since the property is on the smaller side compared to other MVC locations, but overall I thought it was an excellent value and really liked the boutique feel. It’s conveniently located in the heart of South Beach, right across from the beach and a couple blocks north of the Versace Mansion. Despite its size, it has many familiar MVC amenities like complimentary laundry, bicycles, and a schedule of guest activities. Perhaps the best offering was a complimentary beach cart in the guest room that included Tommy Bahama chairs; I had never seen this offered before, but I thought it was fantastic. In the evening hours they had an included happy hour with a variety of drink options, which I really enjoyed. The building also has a rooftop seating area that overlooks Ocean Drive and some of the ocean; I liked the plaque on the rooftop about the history of the building.
I booked the standard king guest room and was surprised by how spacious the room was - they probably could’ve fit a second king bed in there. When I checked in, the front desk agent told me I had a really nice room and she thought I would enjoy it; when I opened the door, I was shocked to find my room had a large balcony overlooking the rooftop area with a slight view of the ocean in the distance. Since I didn’t even realize balconies were an option at this property, it was definitely a pleasant surprise. Both the room and bathroom were nicely decorated; the room included a fridge and microwave, as well as dishes. There were complimentary water bottles provided, as well as a nice little welcome gift for Marriott status; this was a small gesture that was much appreciated and added to the boutique atmosphere of the property. As mentioned above, the beach cart in the room was a game changer. Overall, I thought this MVC offered a great return for the money spent and would definitely keep it in mind for the future.
Location is fantastic.
Extremely noisy, no sun light in the rooms, amenities super poor.

High pressure sales experience. They wanted a decision right on the spot. When I declined their offer their sales person got very huffy with me. Then the Manager stopped by and walked me through 3 other offers they had.
Would not recommend them to anyone. The location I stayed at was OK - no restaurant on site - only served finger food. Only 1 night of entertainment available during our entire stay.
