Albatross Ocean View

The hotel was very beautiful with great views of the ocean. The staff was very accomadating. With low tides in the mornings we were able to walk along the beach.
This a secluded beach best for couples. Our suite was ocean front with the best views of the ocean

Beautiful small hotel, large rooms with multiple views, located directly by the sea, nice pool. Nice beach, if you want to do something you need a hire car or private taxi

Unser Aufenthalt im Albatross ovean view war einfach fantastisch! Alles, von den Zimmern bis zum Service, hat uns begeistert und uns die Möglichkeit gegeben, uns richtig gut zu erholen. Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer und die Qualität des Essens haben unsere Erwartungen getroffen. Doch das herausragendste Merkmal dieses Hotels ist zweifellos das Personal. Jedes einzelne Mitglied des Teams war äußerst nett, zuvorkommend und verbreitete trotz ihrer vollen Arbeitstage stets gute Laune mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht. Ihre Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft haben unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht.

I really enjoyed my stay at Albatross. My room was very spacious and the view was great! They cleaned the room in a very good way and all of the staff (cleaners, restaurant, reception) was great! The masseuse was actually one of the best I’ve tried. The pool kept very clean.

The beach is nice and with the pool I don’t see any problems with the tide making the water go out from the beach for a while. Go to the pool or the pier instead then.

It’s a quiet area with not a lot of restaurants more than hotels. All inclusive or full pension is to prefer.

The downsides is that I’ve wished for curtains that keeps the light out from the room. You get the morning sun super early and a bit hard to sleep. The people in the bar might need a bartender course… unfortunately the drinks were no good (to have syrup in the bar is an advice for example).

But over all I’m very happy with my quiet, peaceful stay and may come back

We spent 5 nights at the Albatross in October. Apparently, this is the low season so they don't have full services in the restaurant. It would have been helpful to have that information indicated on the website in advance for us to make a fully informed decision.

The rooms were spacious with a large bed and small table with one chair. The bed was quite hard but we appreciated the mosquito netting and the effort of spraying twice per day to keep the bugs to a minimum. The bathroom was large and they provided shampoo and a hair dryer. There was some nice seating on the patio out front of our room that we utilized and enjoyed.

The beach has significant tides which we knew about but when the tide was in it was a great spot for swimming. There was a company on the beach that offered water activities but we just enjoyed relaxing in the water and by the pool. Both had super warm water. The property and grounds are very nice and well maintained.

The food was really where we were disappointed. The breakfast buffet had very limited options. We ate there two nights for dinner and found the food to be very basic. Perhaps for families with small children, it would be a good fit. For us, it was very mediocre.

The staff were all very sweet and the manager checked in regularly so that was great. They took excellent care of us and bent over backward to make our stay pleasant. The location was nice and we were able to get around to a couple of other restaurants - including the Jetty at the Dongwe Beach Club which served an incredible meal.

The 4 stars are really due to the lacklustre food. If eating nice meals isn't a priority for you then this is a great spot to stay.

The staff at this hotel is in one word, “awesome .”
Frank, Samson, Moses, Johnny, Benjamin, Innocent, Monsli, and housekeeping. Everyone went out of their way to provide the best service. Frank helped me organize tours. I had problems with the safari I booked, but Frank fixed things for me.

L'hôtel Albatross nous a permis de passer de merveilleux moments tant en bord de mer, de piscine, dans son restaurant et évidemment en chambre. Toutes les chambres donnent sur la piscine et la mer. Toute l'équipe a été aux petits soins pour nous et nous les remercions encore. Ne pas oublier de se laisser aller aux massages tonifiants qui sont proposés. Moment de bonheur supplémentaire.

The staff is amazing and very kind, the food is really good and also the rooms are clean.
I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Zanzibar.
There are also beach boys there in front of the hotel that will propose you some activities, I’d recommend to visit Nakupenda, Prison Island, Stone Town and go in the Blue Lagoon for snorkling.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Albatross! All of the staff made us feel so welcomed and treated us as family! We loved our surprise dinner on the beach. We highly recommend anyone wanting to get away for a bit to stay here! Would definitely stay here again!

The Albatross Ocean View staff were the so friendly. I arrived 12 hour later due to delays in flights and I found Stella from reception and the security guard waiting for me. They were so happy that I had finally arrived even if it was midnight. The room was large and everything was comfortable, just a word of advice though it would be good to have a fridge in the room. All the staff were friendly even willing to get me a coconut even if it was not in the menu. I highly recommend staying in the Albatross.

When you enter this property you seem to have arrived in heaven. On the beach, airy, quiet and personal - large room. Only minus that stops this place from getting 5 stars is the food. The food was quite bland, and despite a large menu, you might want to mix it up with going to The Rock or the small restaurant next door. Regardless, I would highly recommend this place.

I like that the property was next to the beach and had a nice pool. I didn’t like their food, it was not buffet. Breakfast was buffet but same food everyday. There was no food variety on the menu to choose from without having to pay extra. I had paid for all inclusive but there was limit on alcohol and had to pay to have top shelf drinks which were regular imported drinks. I would not recommend the resort. It was not worth what i had paid.

Albatross Ocean View is a wonderful small hotel. The whole staff is very friendly. Food, rooms and service are also excellent. Very familiar atmosphere. The staff also offers support in planning trips in Sansibar!

The most beautiful view/ amazing silence/ perfect rest

-Cainik told us at All Inclusive that there is a limit on hard alcohol and beer of 5 pcs per person day (not for mixed drinks), but after contacting the accommodation with the amazing Samson, it was explained to us and of course we were granted and no restrictions applied to us, I don't take it as a negative, it could have been communicated earlier, for a while I felt that someone wanted to deceive me

- We highly recommend this hotel to everyone, excellent and very tasty fresh food in the restaurant, amazing location right on the beach, pool right on the beach, amazing view, great staff. They changed our room to the best one free of charge, because it was our honeymoon, and they also made our last dinner right on the beach. Samson or Frank will do everything for you and you were satisfied

Loved the place and it was my second time going. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the stay is perfect. All the rooms face the ocean. Will keep going back as value for money.

We stayed at Albatross Ocean View for 10 days and we had an amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful, the room was great with spectacular views, the pool and the beach were awesome, the food at the restaurant is delicious, and the staff is absolutely amazing (namely Musa, Sauda, Gi, Ino and others)! We had full board and it was definitely worth it; the food, as I said, is delicious, with pretty much everything being homemade, including the bread, the jams, the sweet pastries, etc. The staff was super attentive, friendly and helpful; they even made us some donuts to go for our super early flight and also prepared a very nice surprise for our last night! The cleaning staff was great, as our room was cleaned daily and it felt super clean all the time. I could spend a long time praising everything we liked in this hotel, but I can say that all in all, it was absolutely perfect for us, and we definitely recommend this hotel if you visit Zanzibar!! Thank you very much for making our stay so memorable!!

So, this is a short review I should have done a long while back. It popped into my mind just now. The hotel has changed it’s name since we stayed. However, I wanted to mention I have had many massages over the years and if Emma still works here this was the best massage. I would also like to say that Samson, the manager at the time of our stay, was wonderful.
