The location and the hotel setting is gorgeous. Loved it! We were with our child and my in-laws. Everyone was impressed. We also could swim every day in the sea in the end of October - beginning November. I also want specifically to mention and thank the personnel. Despite we were in the end of the season, they were still so enthusiastic, so helpful, so polite and so simply nice after all these months of hard work. Everything was top! Can't think of anything that was wrong, honestly. We were there also during the Halloween, and our child had been upset to miss it in his hometown... So, i can say, the organization of this event in the hotel for kids was also very good and surprising. The guys at the receptions were stars! :) The ladies in the Kids Club, the staff at the reception, the people in the restaurants, the cleaning ladies, the Golf Car drivers (I hope I remembered them all) - everyone were so nice and helpful! We want to come back! THANK YOU!
We just spent our autumn holiday at Candia Park Village and can absolutely recommend it. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency on the very first day, and all the staff were incredibly helpful and behaved in an exemplary manner. The hotel manager arrived quickly, introduced himself personally, called a doctor and then consulted with the doctor to determine where I could receive the best medical care. In the meantime, my children were given something to eat, and even I was given a packed lunch to take with me in the ambulance. All the staff present helped and were very friendly. I was afraid and worried, but I felt very well taken care of. After two nights in a hospital in Heraklion, I was able to return to the resort. They asked how I was feeling and I am truly grateful to everyone from the bottom of my heart for helping me so well.
Regardless of this, the resort is a dream for young and old alike. The pool and the beautiful sea are very close together, and you have a free choice between different pools, the sea with a beach
and the sea with steps. There is a pool bar, a Gelateria, a mini market, a tavern, a great kids' club and much more – the full range of amenities, but without that typical club atmosphere that we don't particularly like. It is laid out like a village, so it's easy to get around. All the staff are friendly and in autumn everything was very relaxed, you don't have to fight for a sun lounger.
So, we will definitely be back and can absolutely recommend it for families.
There is so much Candia park gets right and we thought it was very good value for money. The reception staff are so welcoming, the rooms are great, simple, airy and light, very clean, thoughtful details like the outdoor folding down clothes airer, bowl of fruit and wine in the fridge, lots of hooks for drying things. The bathroom was exceptional. Beds and pillows a little hard for us and one of the sofa beds for the kids needed some padding but quickly rectified. The grounds/gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The kids club is great and staff so friendly. It’s a very family orientated hotel. Pool area is ok although sun loungers get reserved very early so be quick! Ditto down by the beach. Pools are very cold but to be expected in October. And as some have commented it gets very busy and noisy as the beach is small (but lovely) so really the pool is where everyone is. Breakfast buffet was brilliant. The shop and ice cream parlour and Kafe also great. Lovely Cretan night with dancing and music. We took a taxi into Ag Nik one evening which is lovely.
The downsides are twofold. The restaurant, bar and pool staff I’m afraid were not good. Of course it is late in the season and they must all be exhausted (whatever the time of year, guests are spending their hard earned money for their holiday) but they were really so unfriendly, unhelpful and couldn’t be bothered and were either on their phones or vaping under the counter or just generally sitting around and ignoring guests. Even a smile would have gone a long way.
The second negative is the food from the bar. Not very good but also served in cardboard boxes - I’m sure there are reasons but some plates and cutlery would have elevated this experience and justified the pretty high prices. It’s also a shame this bar closes early as if you’re not on half board, dinner options are limited.
All in all this is a great hotel in a lovely area and good value for money, just a few things that could have been better.
This hotel is wonderful. Can't fault it. The site is as described, like a village with a central square and clock tower. Rooms are like apartments with kitchen diner, large terrace, extremely comfy bed, great pillows .. thank you, and modern spacious shower room. Lots of wardrobe space .. housekeeping do a splendid job. The grounds are well kept and extremely attractive. Restaurant is buffet style. As a coeliac, the sous chef identified gluten free options, and there was lots of choice. Food was extremely good. Waiting staff are excellent 👍 front of house, the reception team are friendly, helpful and can do. The pools are well maintained and access to sandy beach from the hotel is a bonus. Sun beds comfy and plentiful. As it's a steep descent from road to reception, we didn't bother walking to get a cab. Taxis are reasonable and we went off to Ag Nic and Elounda. We also decided to get a private taxi transfer to airport because the bus on way in was pretty long. Only thing that was a surprise was the amount of under 5s. I read it was a family holiday but didn't realise for the week we were there, that so many toddlers would be on holiday too with their parents. It is therefore probably best for family groups, perhaps with grandparents. It's truly lovely, but I would need a quiet zone in some part of the complex where I could read my book in peace. I sound like a grumpy old woman, maybe I am lol
We have just returned from our second stay at Candia Park Village, and once again it exceeded every expectation. This place is pure paradise and has become one of our absolute favorite destinations in Greece.
What makes Candia Park so uniquely special is the direct entrance to the sea. The little cove feels like a private hideaway, sheltered and peaceful, with crystal-clear water. Every morning we enjoyed a refreshing swim in the most breathtaking setting — calm sea, gentle waves, and a view that feels like a postcard come to life. Starting the day by swimming in such a spectacular environment is simply unforgettable.
The hotel itself is beautifully laid out in the style of a traditional Cretan village, with charming walkways, flowering gardens, and plenty of space to relax. There is also a very convenient mini market on-site, perfect for grabbing drinks or small essentials, and a lovely ice cream shop that quickly became one of our daily indulgences in the afternoon sun.
We stayed in a „One Bedroom Apartment Sea View“, which was wonderfully spacious and perfectly located. The style was charmingly rustic and authentic, giving it a cozy Mediterranean feel, yet it featured a beautifully renovated, modern bathroom that added a touch of luxury. We also really appreciated the small kitchenette, ideal for preparing a quick snack or a light meal whenever we wanted — a very welcome convenience during a longer stay.
A special thank you also goes to the wonderfully friendly and attentive staff during breakfast and dinner. The service is heartfelt, warm, and personal — they make you feel welcome from the first moment, and it is clear that guest satisfaction truly matters to them.
Candia Park Village is one of those rare places that manages to combine authenticity, comfort, and natural beauty in perfect harmony. After two wonderful visits, we already know it won’t be our last. A truly magical place — highly recommended to anyone looking for a relaxing seaside escape.
I’m currently staying at Candia Park Village – Agios Nikolaos for the second year in a row (October 12–19, 2025), after a wonderful stay during the same week last year. Everything is perfect again — spotless rooms, great service, and warm hospitality.
Special thanks to Vicky at the pool bar for her exceptional service, professionalism, and constant smile. A truly fantastic holiday in a beautiful place with family and friends. Can’t wait to come back again!
Thanks Kyriakos for the massage in the spa of candia park resort. It was really great and i feel very relaxed 😊.
Candia park resort is a great place to be. Very enjoable as a family with all the activities.
Freundliches Personal, schöne Anlage, Qualität des Buffets sehr gut, Strand übersichtlich, Wassertiefe gut für Kinder, wer sich bewegen will Auto empfohlen. Wir würden wieder buchen
We had amazing holidays in this resort. Special thanks to Sophia from the spa facility for providing us with an amazing relaxing experience there. Thank you so much all :)
Emma's massage was my special highlight of our trip. Thank you so much for the relaxing experience. Body Scrub and Cretan massage were both super professionell and the pressure just perfect. Totally recomendable.
The place is exactly what we needed for a relaxed family vacation with our 15-months-old baby. Village-theme residence put us immediately in a very cozy mood. The rooms are clean and very comfy, decorated in a beautiful rustic way. The food is exceptional and very tasty, every day with a different theme. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. Especially chef Minas and bartender Ilias made our stay completely hassle-free and helped with our requests for the baby's food. Altogether a 5-star experience and definitely a recommendable stay!
I had the Cretan massage with Andreas and I highly recommend it. The massage left me feeling rejuvenated and deeply relaxed. Sophia was also very attentive and guided me in selecting the treatment best suited to my needs, ensuring a truly personalized and restorative experience.
Amazing hotel for families, a lot of activities, super friendly, clean, beautiful - overall 10/10!
Very nice hotel… it’s ideal for families… I was fascinated of spa… Mr Andreas was very nice with knowledge on his job and it was one of the best massage I’ve ever had…
This is a wonderful hotel, it is absolutely stunning, the view of the sea is breathtaking and the staff are excellent. We had a sea view suite which was out of this world. There are deckchairs dotted around so you can have peace and quiet, but also the pools are great. Our toddler loved the baby pool and would have spent all day in there! We found that everything is so easy at this hotel - it’s all a short walk to get wherever you want to go, the shop on site is great and reasonably priced. The small beach is private and perfect to relax and with children they can play on the sand safely, with loads of deckchairs and umbrellas. We particularly would like to recognise the staff on reception, who really went above and beyond and were so helpful booking taxis and sorting out luggage etc. one mention is to the amazing staff member who helped us as we left (I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name). Our transfer to the airport was late and we were told they didn’t have a car seat, which we had pre booked. The staff member organised for a booster seat to be delivered to the hotel from one of their transfer services and helped us, calling to find out why our transfer was late. He made such a difference and what could have been a stressful situation, he sorted for us - thank you. We will definitely come back and couldn’t recommend this hotel more.
This resort is so wonderful. Beautiful scenery everywhere. I had a spa treatment with Emma and she was fantastic. It was so relaxing and a great experience.
Very nice hotel, view is amazing! Food is buffetstyle, for vegetarians okay, for people who eat everything very nice!
Had the best massage there - thanks andreas!
A lovely resort with a great private beach and pools. Good location, only a 10 mins drive away from a couple of towns that are well worth a visit.
The staff at breakfast and dinner were very attentive and friendly, particularly Manos - very nice fella!
Alles soweit sehr schön. Die Preise für Getränke und Speisen im Hotel sind sehr teuer.
Wonderful hotel, family friendly, the kids club is super cute, everyone is super friendly and professional, the food is great, the different pools are lovely and the private beach is exceptional and a nic alternative to the pool. Plus it offers wakeboarding, boatrips, diving and more. We will for sure come back.
