Close to the beach great views friendly staff restaurants near by
Absolutely beautiful hotel! Gorgeous rooms, delicious food, lovely staff and the most stunning views! A perfect hotel by the sea!
Friendly reception staff. Great views & location. We ate lunch in the restaurant which was very good as was breakfast especially the omelette
Would stay again
Disappointing. Was the most I have paid for a 3 night break without breakfast, in a long time. First room had no view, glass doors out to the car park. Room smelt heavily of damp dog. Shower was a death trap. Asked to change rooms for one with a bath and quieter. They did accommodate this with no fuss, and house maid Carol was a star.
Food was generally a “miss” although did had a nice lunch of crispy belly pork and boa buns one day.
Ordered room service of a cheese board. Huge chunks of cheese, crackers, grapes and quince paste ( tasteless orange jelly in slices, ughhhh). No butter, no knife so ended up eating some cheese with a teaspoon.
One evening ordered vegetable curry. A swimming bowl of soupy sauce arrive filled with mange tout, no chick peas or sweet potato as described. Rice should have been pilau, but was effectively boil in the bag white rice. That was all sent back and had deep fried frozen scampi which fell apart and requested new potatoes and it came with peas. Was okay.
Very young staff - would looked terrified if asked about anything, or miserable. The bar was covered in dirty glasses. My sense is they had more business than they could manage on food and drink side.
The hotel has good sea views from its balcony deck and outside seating. Is a precipitous incline down to the sea and the road in a very steep gradient. I did not appreciate this and getting down to the beach before the funicular opened was lethal for an older lady.
Location good.
Great place to stay great ataff
Lovely place. Amazing views and they have done a great job with the outside eating spaces. Staff all brilliant in terms of work ethic and service. Food was ok, portion sizes huge so if you have hollow legs you’ll love it. Downside was being in a room right next to the cellar delivery in the morning. Made so much noise we might as well had helped them unload the kegs. And in no universe is that room worth £240 for a night with no breakfast. Totally overpriced
We had a great time at the spa. Hotel we were given a free upgrade as it was my husbands birthday .
No toiletries supplied in the bathroom.
Bath drain plug loose. Water leaking.
Windows are foggy from outside.
Generally a tired looking place.
The Spa Hotel sits just above the gorgeous coastline with an easy path down to the seaside. It is a slightly steep hill up to the town center, but that's easily walkable. The restaurant was excellent and everyone so kind and friendly. I saw the most spectacular sunrise and sunset at the property. You can't help but fall in love with the Hotel and it's natural beauty in the seaside surroundings.
Some of the staff were very attentive but not all . Our stay was spoilt because of the service at breakfast,
our first visit to saltburn and stayed 3 days.will definitely book again at the spa
Fantastic hotel, lovely staff - very friendly and helpful, especially the lady on reception.
Beautiful room, and a great nights sleep
I will definitely come back again
The service at breakfast was very poor. Waited 75mins before order came
When this was reported to the general manager her response was indifferent at best and never mind she would pass the message to the kitchen but it was sunny in Saltburn !! Never once apologized. This marred an otherwise pleasant stop over.
Another fabulous visit to The Spa. Unfortunately only two nights this year! All the building work has been completed and it’s a wow. Yet again the greatest asset of this hotel is its staff. These are the friendliest group of people who will literally do anything to make sure your visit is splendid. Not everything can be perfect but be sure that The Spa will work hard to reach the top.
Friendly, welcoming check in. Nice big rooms. Very dog friendly. Breakfast was outstanding! So hospitable....explained to the manager that we found our beds uncomfortable, the manager organised new mattresses with no question and a smile. We did find the room to be a bit stuffy as the only ventilation was possible of we kept the french door on the latch, which was perfect during the day but perhaps a little unsafe at night. We used the air conditioninh unit to circulate air in the room which was fine but noisy. On the whole, this wasn't a major issue, we worked around it. The location of The Spa Hotel is unreal - walking distance to just about everywhere worth visiting in Saltburn. We can't wait to come back, it will be the only place we stay. The staff, from housekeeping to management are all an asset to the place. Thanks for having us.
Great room with fantastic view.
A great hotel in a great location with excellent staff that know how to mix friendliness with professionalism. The rooms were spotless so well done to the Housekeeping team. The restaurant is well worth a visit with spectacular views and excellent food. I'll definitely be back soon.
Great sea views
I booked through Expedia having been hijacked on Google Search when looking for the Spa Hotel, Saltburn. Expedia is poor at sending email confirmation. I recommend booking direct.
A beautiful gem! Thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful hotel, in a lovely location. Food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel room was so pretty, tall ceilings, beautiful decor and soft furnishings. Large lovely bathroom. Good hearing and also good air con. I’ll definitely return and recommend.
