The fantastic view of Ping River.Quite and natural place. You can here birds sinning song in the morning.Wifi very good.parking is safe. You can borrow a Kayak to row on Ping River. I strongly recommend to stay at Bannamping Riverside village.
It was a little disappointing to be honest. The pool was under construction. The neighbourhood has nothing to offer and we booked the place to relax and swim for couple of days. Instead there was a whole lot construction, dust and noise from it. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere in this situation was not fun. To pay this much for not being able to relax wasnt cool and I would have expected some sort of refund or notification before hand about the pool condition. Apparently the motor in the pool has been in repaid for 2 months, so that's plenty of time to give people a heads up. The choice of food there is limited and expensive compared to rest of Chiangmai also. We had to hire a car and do day trips so we didn't have to stay there which increased our expenses. Not worth it!
We were hoping to unwind and enjoy quiet and nature along the river. There is definitely river and nature, but unfortunately it was not as "unwinding" as we had hoped. This place could be really great if the restaurant was as advertised, and the guests recognized it is a place for quiet and relaxation. Don't go to this place if you are looking for this. However I must recognized we were there during Chinese New Year. The other guests during our stay were in large groups, with the whole family (grandparents and kids included) and were inconsiderate of the others staying there. If you are a family who loves to run around a make a lot of noise, this may be the place for you.
All this aside, I think if you timed the stay right, it has the possibility to be a very peaceful place. The local staff is very accommodating and pleasant. The breakfast is Chinese food as the owner is Chinese. If you don't want Chinese food for dinner, you must request Thai food in the morning. Unfortunately we weren't informed this till our last day, so we scooted into town the other nights for dinner. The scooting is really a great time if you have motorcycle experience. You can always rent a car, but I would highly recommend having one of the two so you can leave when you want.
Great place to relax. We loved it and will return. For some reason nobody told us about shuttle bus to Chiang Mai and no meals apart from breakfast available. They had some meals delivered to us or you can walk 3 kms or catch a ride to the night market for dinner.
ok, its a bit out of town but its a great quiet place with great rooms and nice garden. It was perfect for us and after you have been to the hectic town its a great place to calm down. Breakfast is great, staff is friendly and helpful and if you rent a scooter, it will take you 15 min to go to town.
This is a moderately priced resort overlooking the Ping River about 1/2 hour outside of Chiang Mai. Our family of four only spent one night but enjoyed the small pool and view from our veranda. The gardens are lovely, room was spacious and well appointed, and the staff very helpful. Breakfast, included in the tariff, was very generous, though dinner service was a bit slow. They have three one-person kayaks and several basic bicycles (all free) if you wish to paddle on the river or pedal a few kilometres through quiet countryside into the village, where there is a nice food market (and a 7-11).
We loved our 3 nights here! It was quiet & peaceful. The best thing was the AMAZING staff, they're all so lovely & helpful. It was about 30-40 mins out of the city; but we didn't mind. We hired a scooter & loved the ride into town!
Lovely bungalows overlooking the ping River. Ande and her staff were very attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay, a great way to kick off our thai adventure. Probably the only downside was being out of chiang mai which meant taxi fares to and from but this didn't bother us as we stayed in town later in the trip.
great service
Good ,very friendly owners and staff ,loved our stay there
I love peaceful and the nature and I spend time for 6 days. I love it
very quite. nice place to get away from the noise. great breakfast and dinner. 400 baht to airport. around 600 baht and 30-45 min from Chiang Mia. can ride motor bike or pedal bike for free. takes 15 min to seven eleven/small town/a market on pedal bike.
they were great and even put us in a nicer room upon request a little out of town though.
Very friendly staff. Boss speaks German an gave us good advice. We rented a motorbike. Free bikes (bit old, small, but ok). Breakfastbuffet and eggs any style. Lovely dinner in the beautiful restaurant by the river. Don't forget moskito rellepent. Rooster in the neighbourhood... Nice pool with fresh water. Many ants around (also some in the room). Taxi Service from and to Chiang Mai was perfect! Laundryservice too expensive. Do it by yourself or outside. Location a bit outside of Saraphi. We enjoyed the dinner usually at the hotel (we recommend the homemade coconut ice cream!!!). Quality and price are perfect!
Great service from all the staff. Lovely hotel. We were made to feel extremely welcome and valued.
Everything about our stay was wonderful...Anne and Toi were always so helpful and fun!! Toi was always encouraging us to try new dishes, arranged a rental car for us and was there for anything we needed. Our bungalow was wonderful, with a deck overlooking the river. A perfect, quiet oasis, not far from the busyness of Chiang Mai...We would highly recommend it.
Surprisingly charming little hotel by the river. A little difficult to find at first but once you are there, you are transported away from the hectiness of Chiangmai.
The owners were very welcoming on our arrival and staff were very nice. Reading the other reviews most guests seem to have had a similar experience. The bungalows are very spacious and clean. The garden is well kept and I love the proximity to the river. The food on the menu is very nice as well although maybe a bit pricey.
If I want to stay objective I need to point out the following:
A one way journey into town will cost you 400bath. A similar journey in Bangkok might cost you 100 bath. We had dinner at one of the market stalls for 2 people with drinks for 110 bath and bought a large rice paper umbrella for 70 bath to give you an idea about the taxi fare...
Although the main asset of the hotel would be the remoteness we did not experience the peace and calm we expected. Across the river a house/building is under construction. I had a banging headache by the time the builders left the construction site. Some people in the area also felt it necessary to increase the volume of their music during the day. After 6PM it became all quiet though.
Although I love the hotel I don't believe it would suit everyone.
Good food, quiet relaxing, great for families, couples or singles, reasonably priced restaurant serving a good choice of quality fresh food, free transport to ban Taiwan, and 400bits to city of Chiang mai, can get a bike and sidecar ride to saraphI, then bus to Chiang mai, Anne and Toy, are very helpful, can organise good tours for any one, we love them dearly at this resort, would love to return.
Spent and enjoyable 2 days at Baannamping towards the end of an 8 day cycling trip. I found the staff to all be very accommodating and happy to help. A nice place to relax and unwind.
