Pros:

Cons:

Relaxing stay in an incredible building
Pros:

We loved our stay at Syrou Melatron. The hotel is gorgeous and meticulously styled, as was the bedroom. The staff were super lovely and helpful and we had amazing breakfasts every day. The only disappointing thing was that we didn’t stay longer! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Pros:

Cons:

Il n’y a aucun café ou bar proche de l’hôtel.

Great value for money. Very old world Syros
Pros:

Breakfast was sizeable and served on a wonderful terrace. The hotel is an architectural gem and the rooms were very well restored (my room had an uninterrupted sea view).

Cons:

It is the off season and so understandably the evening wine bar on the terrace was closed.

Schönes Hotel, gute Lage
Pros:

Pros:

+ Top Ausblick, Meerblick vom Zimmer
+ Zimmer mit viel Charme
+ Leckeres Frühstück
+ Gute Matratze

Cons:

- Hellhörig zur Strasse
- laute Klimaanlage

Classiest hotel in Siros
Pros:

The hotel is located along Kassou, in the Vaporia district, just further up from the magnificent Church of St Nicholas. It’s located in the neo-classical mansion built in 1857, so there is a bit of history there. The building is often used for advertising shots due to its original features and location, as was during our stay. There is no parking in the vicinity of the hotel bar some tight spaces near the Police HQ further up or a large municipal (and free) car park about half a mile away.

We stayed in Room 2 on the ground floor, which is probably the grandest room in the hotel. It was a mezzanine arrangement, the main bedroom with a huge bed on the lower floor and two smaller beds on the upper. Both rooms were sumptuously decorated and there was plenty of seating available. Being on the ground floor we were close to the street although double glazing and heavy curtain muffled any outside noise. There was a large wardrobe with a safe box.

Coffee-making facilities were provided.

WiFi signal was good, AC worked perfectly.

The bathroom on the upper floor was rather tight and separated from the main room by glass partitioning. Slippers were provided.

Breakfast was served on the terrace on the second floor, which doubles as a bar in the evenings; we used a small lift to get there. You chose items from the menu and they were served by friendly staff. In common with all hotels in Cyclades, any coffee was a payable extra.

The hotel did not provide evening meals although with a plethora of restaurants downtown, within walking distance, there was really no need for one. We mainly patronised restaurants in the Kiparissou area – they served great food and were excellent value for money. For that romantic atmosphere we went to Mazi restaurant, just off the main square.

Location great, obnoxious staff and they serve drinks on rooftop after 8.30pm
Pros:

When you select the room configuration and actually pay, it’s well after that you receive communication from the hotel that that configuration is not available so travelling as two male friends they have us a double bed only.
You receive only once on arrival coffee pods in your room and water thereafter nothing. The bar opens on the rooftop 8pm - 11pm and when we asked as we like to have a pre dinner drink they reply it’s our schedule and it’s hot. No for real, like we have no interest in creating a revenue stream and are happy for our guests to go and buy cocktails from the hotel just up the road who open at 6.30pm. At breakfast we watched a lady request her eggs that were too running be told I am not sure we can cook them more we need to ask. We were horrified.

Cons:

Purely the location the staff all consistently obnoxious and it’s clear the actual owners don’t step foot in this building.
