Pros:

Was impressed with the refurbishment. Staff were really helpful but there is a major problem with the functionality of the hotel. Can’t quite pin point it eg my meal was tasteless no flavour. No one asked did we need anymore drinks. Water bottles in the room were opened by previous guests. Maybe the owner needs to employ more qualified staff and if they want to keep the doors open they need to bring price down.

Cons:

All ok

Pros:

The Hotel is beautiful, friendly staff and excellent food.

Cons:

The bed in room 409 was tiny I'm not sure if they are all like that or because our room was quite small but I wouldn't want to stay in the same room again because of this.... if it wasn't for the bed being so small it would have been a 10/10 stay.

North Coast stay
Pros:

Well located hotel, a short walk to the seafront.
Check in was fast and efficient, the lovely receptionist was very friendly and greeted my dog by name.
Bedroom was very nicely decorated, as was the bathroom. Ceramic bowls and a very comfortable bed were left for the dog.
Mini gin, free chocolate, water and tea/coffee and a mini bar that you could pay for items. You also got a voucher for 2 free drinks in the bar. We ate in the bar area as dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant however, it was the same menu. Dinner and breakfast were both lovely.
All staff were fantastic, very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. I would certainly visit again if staying in Portrush.

Amazing hotel, but go elsewhere for food
Pros:

Hotel is lovely, staff are amazing. Food is bland and needs work, heavily influenced by italians cuisine and doesn’t work for the area or the amazing local produce available

Pros:

Breakfast was exceptional. Staff also. Weather was not good but hotel made up for that.

Cons:

Absolutely nothing. If I had to find something. Room was a Lytton warm during the night.

Not great :(
Pros:

My husband and I visit portrush quite a bit and have stayed in the aldephi pre refurb, this was our first time staying here since they’ve refurbed and tbh I don’t think we would stay again unless no other options. There are hotels near by if definitely recommend more such as the Marcus, the bank apartments, Atlantic and the port.

Check in was great - friendly and quick.

Our room was fine, but the bed was very small and not the most comfortable. Nice little touches with some chocolate and gins. The blanket on the bed was very cosy. Nice enough room and had everything we needed! Clean and big enough.

What let us down was the breakfast, the girl couldn’t be more unwelcoming - brought us to our table and didn’t ask us if we wanted any tea or coffee but asked every other table, also every other table got brought out some jams and pastries etc and our table didn’t. When we did eventually get our tea there was no spoons to stir the tea… just not great and a bit poor unfortunately.

Dog friendly hotel so was lovely seeing all the little dogs :)

Bar is lovely and much better than it was before the refurb, nice cocktails. The barman, didn’t catch his name, was lovely.

There are better value and quality hotels locally than the Adelphi.
Pros:

Disappointing stay here. First visit since the refurbishment / takeover by Marine and Lawn. Reception was friendly and was able to check in early, which was appreciated. We had a drink at the bar and the staff behind the bar were excellent and the cocktail my wife got was great. Beer selection is pretty poor.

The room was pretty small and no view, we went for an entry level room so this was expected - but the bed was very small (felt smaller than a double) and it was really not comfortable at all. One of the worst hotel beds i’ve slept in.

Where things went really wrong, was breakfast. On arrival we were shown to our table, the waitress then disappeared. 10 Minutes later they came back and asked if we wanted tea, by this point we were ready to place our order for food aswell. Food came, the tea didn’t - when I had to remind her she muttered under her breath and then went and got it. No apology. The food wasn’t great when it came either.

Now - the thing that pisses me off the most is that everyone else was getting a different service to what we got. I saw other groups be seated, told about the menu, explained that juice is available - and also provided with a tower of what I assume was scones and biscuits. We got absolutely none of that. The girl working in there is absolutely miles off being at a standard of even working in a customer service role at Asda, let alone in hospitality. I seriously cannot get my head around how it is acceptable to be in a service role when you are unable to provide any level of customer service.

So yeah - unfortunately my first time back here will probably be the last. I paid about £190 for the room including breakfast and it isn’t worth that. And by this hotels pricing over a weekend that is pretty cheap.

I recently tried the Hilton, which was far better than the Adelphi - but I also look forward to heading back to the Atlantic and trying there.

Apologies to the staff at the hotel that do try hard and do a good job - but unfortunately overall the hotel is just miles off what they think they are and can charge for.

Dog Friendly Stay
Pros:

We had a fab weekend, Della (our lil dog) really chilled out 😁. Della was not allowed in the dining room so we were set up in the bar for breakfast and dinner which was perfect. Big thanks to Michelle, Abbey, Emma, Jordan and Ivor for their assistance, service, and friendliness while we were there. The rooms were beautiful, and they provided a big bed and bowls.

Disappointing due to the poor nights sleep, but rooms and general decor throughout were lovely.
Pros:

Lovely decor throughout, bedroom was spacious and beautifully furnished.
Breakfast was exceptional and staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Cons:

Upkeep / maintenance - we paid (a not unsubstantial amount) for a one night stay with room upgrade only to find that the windows in our street facing room did not seal properly.
Consequently on the windy night that it was, we had a considerably cold draft blowing in from outside, causing the window blinds to rattle, not to mention all the street noise from the Main Street late night revellers.
