The hotel, rooms and overall ambience was high quality and traditional. The rooms, in particular the bathroom and bed were top notch.
The staff we super helpful and a "shout out" to Mark, even though it was very busy he was very visible and kept the place running smoothly.
Cooked breakfast was basic, just fried, didn't feel like there as much local produce in it.
The cold selection was perfect though.
The tiny lobby was beautiful and thats the only good thing i have to say
family room was not good at all!big room tiny beds. so uncomfortale. sheets were terrible. upon arrival - not enough towels . . per person. water in the shower were not hot enough. no toielt paper at all . terrible breakfest. fridge not working
Perfect location. Staff were amazing, very professional, friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was superb both quality and quantity.
Surprisingly, there is nothing I can say I didn’t like about the hotel.
Location and staff were very friendly
Lovely staff and great location
The staff were very helpful and friendly
There was a lot of outdoor noise
Warm and cosy - decor was stunning and staff so friendly.
Our bedroom was a bit on the small side
We had 2 breakfasts during our stay. On day one the fries, large and small we're both very greasy and barely warm. We said nothing and agreed on day day 2 we take a safer option of scrambled eggs and toast. However when we were served there was a dollop of burned scrambled eggs on cold plates. Toast consisted of 3 rounds between two us. I have attached pictures of served eggs and also burned areas. My wife's looks like its got brown sauce on hers but it's burned egg. We did speak to a manager who was very helpful and wanted to replace our breakfast, however we're really pushed for time and refused him. The receptionist lady was very helpful and asked about our stay, she apologized when we told her. Hopefully this will help better the breakfast experience for others, we were going to book for dinner on day one but based on breakfast we dined elsewhere. Considering the cost of this hotel for stays it really should be better, 4 of us cant be wrong. considering the quality of rooms and staff this issue really lets it down. we have stayed nearby in Elephant rock hotel and difference was palpable.
Lovely rooms and hotel in general
Very disappointed with dinner and had to wait along time for breakfast to be served. Asked for toast several times, never arrived
My daughter treated me to afternoon tea for Mother’s Day .I love an afternoon tea so I have had a few, start with the positives the setting was lovely the red sail room it was well decorated and relaxing. The sandwiches were well filled. They didn’t ask us if there were any fillings we didn’t like so two of us didn’t eat them all. My daughter had ordered a vegetarian option they didn’t check this and gave her the main option and it had to be changed with only one sandwich option . The scone was pre buttered and the other half had jam and cream on it so no option to add what you liked. The pastries were small and looked nice but had very little taste to them they were frozen ones . We had to ask for our Prosecco and a top up of tea so over all a bit disappointing . They could improve this with more savoury options and more attention to detail.
Beautiful room and breakfast was excellent. Bar and restaurant area was really lovely.
Some street noise at night
This hotel is first class. The staff are unbelievably good. Michelle on reception is fantastic at her job, remembered us from a previous visit. Alex on breakfast even remembered my breakfast preferences. It’s the small details like this that will make customers return time and time again. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough ten out of ten!!
Lovely large room with a sea view.
A bit noisy on Monday morning as it is close to main street
Cant wait to come back,
Michelle you are a legend!! Thank you so much for not only being a great receptionist, but for making us giggle on what was such a sorrowful day for us. Thankyou.
The decor. The location
