If you’re trying to decide where to stay in Petra - stop looking and book this property! First, the location is excellent - across the street from the main entrance to Petra. If you want to go through the “Petra Back Door”, there are taxis right on the street that will take you. The hotel itself is very nice, with modern amenities, a beautiful pool area, and a wonderful rooftop restaurant. The staff across the hotel are equally as wonderful - with the restaurant staff really standing out (even greeting me by name). The included breakfast is a wide and varied assortment of foods, all of which were high quality and delicious. Dinners at the hotel restaurant were also lovely. Very glad I stayed here!

I had a wonderful stay at Petra Moon Hotel and can highly recommend it. The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting Petra, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and everything was well organized.

What impressed me most, however, was the staff. Every member of the team I met was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. Their hospitality made me feel at home from the very first moment.

I would especially like to mention Issa at the reception. He gave me one of the warmest welcomes I have ever experienced during my travels. He was professional, kind, patient, and always smiling—even when dealing with a German with a rather questionable sense of humour. People like him are the reason guests remember a hotel long after they have left.

Finally, I would like to add something for future travelers: despite the current tensions in the region caused by recent international events, I personally felt safe during my stay. The local people were welcoming, respectful, and proud to share their country with visitors.

Thank you to the entire Petra Moon team—and especially to Issa—for making my stay such a memorable experience.

Petra Moon Hotel located near the front door entrance for the famous Petra hike experience is a real good stay for people who want to experience the comfort and warmth of Jordan. The very welcoming and enthusiast receptionist Issa had made our stay remarkable. He engages in conversation that guests would feel safe and at home leaving a postive heart warming impression of the Jordan people. Amer an Abdo also had been very helpful during our stay making sure we have everything delivered on a very professional manner.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est parfait, à quelques mètres de l’entrée du site. L’hôtel est impeccable, les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et très propres. Le restaurant est très qualitatif. Mais le vrai point fort est la très grande amabilité du personnel et sa très grande disponibilité. Un spécial remerciement pour l’équipe du restaurant.

Everything, location, views and staff

Room was comfortable. We were traveling as a family of 3 so we chose the 3 bedroom unit; this was sufficient for our needs. The breakfast buffet selection was very varied and enjoyable. The location is the reason we selected the hotel, close to the Petra entrance. This was especially appreciated after our long Petra hike. We had checked out before our tour and left our luggage with the reception desk. Returning to the hotel after our tour, we found we had time before our wadi Rum pickup time. During our wait, the hotel kindly allowed us to use their swimming pool shower to refresh ourselves before our departure. This was well appreciated.

My stay at Petra Moon Hotel was absolutely outstanding, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The location is fantastic, the hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained. After long days exploring Petra, it was the perfect place to come back to and relax. Everything about the property exceeded my expectations.

What truly made this stay special, however, was the incredible hospitality.

Throughout my travels, I have met many wonderful people, but Issa stands out as one of the most genuine, caring, and memorable individuals I encountered during my entire trip. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. His kindness was sincere, his professionalism was exceptional, and it was obvious that he genuinely wanted every guest to have the best possible experience.

What impressed me most was how much he truly cared. Every interaction felt personal. He consistently checked to make sure everything was going well, answered questions with patience and enthusiasm, and always seemed focused on making my stay as enjoyable as possible. It never felt like he was simply doing his job—it felt like he genuinely wanted guests to leave with wonderful memories of Petra and Jordan.

In a world where great service can sometimes feel scripted, Issa’s kindness felt completely authentic. That is something guests never forget.

The hotel itself is excellent, but people like Issa are what transform a great hotel into an unforgettable experience. He made me feel special, appreciated, and genuinely welcome throughout my stay.

I left Petra with incredible memories of one of the most remarkable places on Earth, and Petra Moon Hotel was a big part of that experience.

I am already excited to return in the future, and when I do, I hope to bring my friend so they can experience the same hospitality that made my stay so memorable.
