This was the fourth visit for the wife and I to St George, dating back to 2014. Our 22 year old son and 19 year old daughter came back in 2014 and 2015 when they were aged between 7 and 10. Myself and the wife came alone in February 2023 and our youngest daughter, aged 9, was here for the first time. The thing about Xperience St George is a lot of guests return.
We arrived late into dinner, just as we did back in 2023. Back then, there was a small selection of food left out for us to eat and the dining room was left open so we could finish and leave at our leisure. This time reception informed us we would be fine for dinner and we would be given time to eat. Arriving at the dining room 10 minutes before closing, we took plates of main courses and got sat down. Within about a minute we were informed we would have to be quick as the dining room was about to close. Not a very positive start, considering this went against what we were told at reception. The dining room were well aware we had just arrived. Nevertheless we endeavoured to get some desserts and were finally left to sit down and eat.
Being a party of 5, we had 2 rooms next door to each other. Unfortunately we were only provided with 2 beds in each room, so politely asked for another bed to be placed into one of the rooms. This was sorted out very quickly and isn't a big deal, just need to point it out, as I know management read these reviews and we never got asked to fill in a review at the hotel. The room also only contained 2 towels, the room cleaner realised on the 2nd day and started providing 3. The rooms are a little outdated and showing serious signs of wear and tear. However, I reckon management will be onto this and a revamp will be imminent. It isn't something that bothers us, we just get on with our holiday. The room is just somewhere to hang our heads on a night.
The only other negative to point out is the situation in the dining room with queueing. This is a guest problem, but I believe management need to address it, to avoid any nasty situations. Whilst queueing with my young daughter we actually witnessed an altercation that got physical. Western Europeans will join the back of the queue and make their way down patiently to the end. Eastern Europeans and native Egyptians are more likely to grab a plate and nip in and out of the queue, selecting what they like. I aren't here to claim one is right and the other is wrong, they are just opposing cultures in this regard. The altercation saw a French man actually push an Eastern European lady. I didn't see all of it, so don't know if things had got physical with his wife/girlfriend first. But being as they argued in English I got the gist about pushing into a queue. Luckily it wasn't too bad, I don't think it affected my little one, but I did feel the need to explain to her what the issue was.
Now all that is out of the way, I have to harp on about the staff. Every single time they all go above and beyond looking after guests. The staff at the St George have always made this hotel and I doubt that will ever change. From front of house on reception, right across to bar staff and cleaners, they all put in a shift. Making your stay special, remembering your face and what you like, or don't like,
Myself and my son took the bus to the coral beach one day, the snorkelling was good. Unfortunately, the waves not so much, so we didn't get as much time as we like. Obviously, we understand it is safety, so I definitely aren't complaining, it's just bad luck that the red flag was flown.
The entertainment team were fabulous, Mido managed to get my 19 year old daughter to get involved. He is a very special man, because she is very shy and reserved and I didn't think for a second I would ever see her get up and join in on the club dance. She was also high fiving him when he passed, the man has charisma in buckets. Mido was also responsible for taking us on a night out, Karaoke, at The Hard Rock Cafe in nearby Naama Bay. None of us were ever getting up to sing, but it was a nice change and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Debbie usually ran the mini disco, which my 9yo loved. She joined in most nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rue spent a lot of time with my littlest one also, painting her face, running the kids club. They definitely formed a special bond.
The shows on the night, after the mini disco were standard shows you find on these Egyptian holidays. We only went to 2 or 3, but enjoyed them, before heading to our beds.
So, overall, once again we loved our time at the St George and aren't ruling out a 5th visit. I have only scored it 4 out of 5 this time, I am sure the previous 3 would have been the full 5 out of 5. I have to take the one away for the negative experience upon arrival. This is no reflection on the staff, who I would always give 6 out of 5.
We have now returned home after staying at the St George Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.
The biggest issue was the food. It was very poor quality, repetitive, often cold, and at times inedible. Because of this, we spent over £400 eating outside of the hotel, which completely defeats the purpose of booking an all-inclusive holiday. Even when we did try to eat at the hotel, the standards were unacceptable.
The rooms were very dirty, and the bedding was particularly uncomfortable. The sheets felt itchy and were visibly bobbling, making it unpleasant to sleep and raising concerns about cleanliness.
The atmosphere around the pool and sunbeds was chaotic and unfair. We observed that staff would reserve sunbeds for certain guests in exchange for tips. This was done by removing towels from beds already reserved by other guests and then guarding those sunbeds for people who had tipped, which caused frustration and tension among guests.
Guests were forced to get up as early as 5am to try to secure sunbeds, and despite this there was a physical fight over sunbeds during our stay. This escalated to the point where the police were called and attended the restaurant, which is shocking for a hotel that is meant to be relaxing.
On our first day, an ambulance was also called to the hotel, which set a very worrying tone from the start of the holiday.
The only positive of this hotel was the bar staff, who were consistently friendly and hardworking. In particular, Ibrham was amazing and deserves recognition for his service.
Overall, this stay was stressful rather than enjoyable. Between the food issues, dirty rooms, uncomfortable bedding, unfair sunbed practices, significant extra money spent outside the hotel, aggressive behaviour from other guests, police presence, and emergency services being required, this has been one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.
We have genuinely stayed in better 2-star hotels than this.
Based on our experience, we would rate this hotel 1 out of 5 stars.
First time to Sharm. Without exception every staff member is lovely!!! Great room although housekeeping is very basic! Don’t wipe sides or tidy anything. Just bed, towels quick sweep.
Fridge in room noise. Aircon fab. Hot water loads! Food good always something to eat lunch deffo better than evening.
Breakfast was cold everyday. Lukewarm everything and no microwave! Toaster kept breaking and no one sorted it. Staff in restaurant amazing!
They need more signs!! Signs for bbq food to stop people walking through tables to look! And put what he’s cooking! Only 2 cabinets for kids. But biggest thing is it’s all lukewarm at best! Not good.
Pool lovely, grounds lovely.
The dj at large pool you can’t understand a word he’s saying.
Lounge music drab and loud Egyptian noise. So no one hangs around. Change a few things and it’d be perfect.
Coral beach trip, no swimming as blustery day! Filthy dirty tanned in beds down a shabby road. Awful. At least clean it up!
No where to walk from hotel as all dirty dusty broken paths.
But weather was fantastic! .
Hotel is lovely food is amazing can’t wait to go back in February entertainment spot on especially rue she was brilliant with everybody taking time to talk and also getting us playing games she a credit to the hotel
One of the best resort in Sharm el shaykh and it is situated near go bus station which is 15 minutes walking distance and apart from that the resort is one of the most organised resort I have stayed in whole of Egypt!
The employees here are very professional and hard working they always on point never had a complain whatsoever.
The rooms are pretty spacious with beautiful balcony with the view of the pool side which is so relaxing 😌
Everything about the resort was top notch I wish to visit Xperience st.George again in the future.
We stayed at Xperience St George Homestay for 11 days and we had an incredible time and experience. The rooms were tidy and constantly kept clean by the staff, the room almost had everything you needed, you had to request an ironing board at reception but it arrived quickly regardless.
The food was lovely and everyday was different with a lot of variety. We also tried the Indian restaurant above the main dining area and it was great, the food was lovely and good prices, definitely worth a try at least once during your stay at the hotel.
However, one thing that made our stay at the hotel amazing and a holiday to never forget was one staff member and the lovely animator Rue. She was always so positive, lively, energetic and never failed to entertain us. Rue went above and beyond to make sure me and the family were okay and she would always come up to us with joy, happiness and laughter. It’s also worth mentioning that on my last night before my flight home, Rue spent a lot of time with me and it was very special, I’m grateful that she did that because it shows how much she really cares!
Out of the resorts I have visited, the animation team here at the hotel have been the best. I would also like to mention another animator, Debra, she was amazing, friendly and always kept me and the family entertained and happy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Stay – Truly Above and Beyond
We had heard mixed reviews about the St George Xperience in Sharm El Sheikh, but from our personal experience, we can honestly say we had an incredible 10-day stay.
From the very beginning, the staff went above and beyond to make our holiday special, especially when it came to celebrating my partner’s birthday. Every single member of the team was attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. The staff work incredibly hard from around 7:00am until midnight, with only a short break in between, and their dedication truly shows.
The service throughout the hotel was excellent. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and everyone was always happy to help with a smile. A special mention must go to Mr Mahmoud, the manager, who does absolutely everything he can to ensure guests are happy and that any issues are resolved quickly and professionally. His commitment to outstanding service really sets the tone for the entire hotel.
The hotel itself is fabulous, well maintained, and welcoming, making it easy to relax and fully enjoy your stay. We felt well looked after from start to finish and genuinely appreciated the effort made by the whole team.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend St George Xperience to anyone visiting Sharm El Sheikh. We would happily return without hesitation
Very clean very helpful food is amazing choice entertainment is very good and everyone is so welcoming and they can't do enough for you
From start to finish, easyJet made booking our holiday a breeze! The website was super user-friendly, and we found an amazing deal to Xperience St George Home Stay. The flights were smooth and on time, which is always a plus.
As for Xperience St George Home Stay, what a gem! The location was perfect, with stunning views and easy access to local attractions. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.
But what really made our stay special was the exceptional service. Soli, Debbie, Rue,Amir and Olivia went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and were always happy to help with any questions or requests. We can't wait to book our next holiday and return to Xperience St George Home Stay!
Had a fabulous week there, Mustafa is absolutely fabulous we never had an empty glass, Mohammad by the quiet pool bar was also amazing drinks always ready and Debbie from entertainment was just lovely. Had a brilliant time can see why people go back year after year. All the staff are truly amazing think we found a hidden gem at that place. Sad to be home now. Free shuttle to naama bay and old market and also to coral beach and sandy beach all worth a visit. Download indrive app and you can get taxis for a couple of quid pretty much anywhere. Thanks for a great week, we will hopefully be back in march.
Visited hotel for 8 nights last month
Had a wonderful time
The staff were very friendly, pools clean
Had a quiet and entertainment team pool
We sat by entertainment pool as like the music and activities
Tip the pool man and he will sort out towels and beds for you
Had shuttle buses to sandy & coral beaches
We went sandy beach, just be aware of some people pushing in when getting on bus, some people are just rude and ignorant!!
Again tip the towel man at beach and he will sort out a good spot
Nice bar at beach but take own cups if you want a decent size beer !!
Entertainment team were very friendly, but at night was held in marquee so be aware of mosquitos
Food was basic but had good choices every day
Lunch always seemed to be nicer than dinner
Rooms were basic but cleaned every day
Would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing holiday
Oh and the weather was 30c every day
The resort is well organised and the animation group was amazing! Shout out to all the girls, they were ALL lovely, in particular Oliwia and Deborah, which are the ones I talked to the most, they were very nice, kind and inclusive! <3
I had a wonderful stay at this resort! The structure is excellent, everything was perfect – from the rooms to the food and the atmosphere. The entertainment team was amazing, always full of energy and fun. A special mention goes to Amir, whose smile and good vibes made our days even better. Truly recommended!
My experience at this hotel was wonderful because it's a beautiful and clean hotel. I also enjoyed the delicious food and liked the swimming pools. What I liked most was the animation team, especially the lovely girl, Rawan. It was an exceptional and more than wonderful experience.
Nice hotel with with 2 pools one quiet decent restaurant but bar area limited with no decent area to sit outside in the shade when you have had enough sun
So, you decided to spend your holiday at St. George hotel.
You'll get a day cleaned room with everything, what you need for living here except shower gel, shampoo and toothpaste); two safe pools on this territory; free bars; fun, attentive, patient animators (all guys are good, but Ahmed, Olivia and Rue are the best); two beaches where you can go to by free transfer (they locate a bit far away from the hotel, but if you like going for a walk)...); restaurant with varied food on site.
This place will be perfect for a relaxing holyday
Great week away!!
Just back from a nice chilled week away with the husband.
Room was nice and clean, plenty of room and had been given a ground floor pool view.
Bathroom was a little dated but was fully functional and I particularly liked the walk in shower so had no bath to try and climb into. Room was cleaned daily and had kettle with coffee sachets and tea bags/creamer.
Bottled water was provided.
Room had a king-size bed and a large single. Both very comfortable.
Food was nice and plentiful and I am very fussy. The drinks are local spirits etc which I didn't have if honest as I prefer a beer.
You can book the 'beachy bus' at reception for the next day, there are 2 beaches sandy beach and coral beach which we didn't visit.
Sandy Beach was nice, it has a bar and a small snack bar but we didn't try the snacks.
The staff were superb. Couldn't do enough for you even if you hadn't tipped them. So pleasant and polite.
The weather was gorgeous, a very nice 30° most days. We mainly stayed around the 'quiet pool' which was nice and clean.
We had visited this hotel around 10 years previously and would definitely return after this visit.
Well done 👏
As I was responsible for our holiday booking of 9 family members, I researched and read reviews on this holiday prior to booking. I understand how people have different views but blimey, this hotel was simply awful. I often read reviews and think perhaps people have high expectations on a "cheap holiday" however, this holiday was not cheap, school half term for 6 adults, 3 kids (3 rooms in total) was £8500.00 - an average price in my eyes. This is our third time in Egypt (second time in Sharm).
Reception area: Not so bad and staff were pleasant.
Pool area: Could be cleaner
Gardens: Very well maintained - constantly clipping/mowing
Rooms: Very bog standard, beds hard/bed linen stained/ shower pressure rubbish and leaking/ Hairdryer not working. The cleaner was fabulous and did his best with what he had to work with.
Food: Erm ..... YUK! Now i'm not fussy at all but everything was luke warm. Rice, pasta, beans, chips. Not a clue what the "Fish" was but it looked very grey and in large cubes/chunks. I tried the soup which was the consistency and taste of water. I did have one half decent meat stew, looked awful but actually tasted ok. Breakfast was garbage, ate cereal all week. Positive note, the bread is nice.
Drinks: Do even go there! I like a beer on holiday and I drink Gin & Tonic or Wine at home. The drinks are watered down majorly at this hotel. Didn't get tipsy all week as I feel there is no alcohol in any of the drinks. The wine was like petrol. No snacks at the bar either as advertised.
Entertainment: Daytime activities ok. Night time, don't bother, simply shocking. We were sold a trip by entertainment to Hard Rock cafe of £20 each for all inclusive drinks. When we got there, the drinks menu was the same as hotel although the food was not a bad price and was welcomed after what we had been eating at this hotel.
Location: In the middle of nowhere. We had a walk but didn't really get anywhere. Taxi to Nama Bay or Nabq is your best bet (watch out for rip off taxis), unless you like going bed early.
This hotel had quite a lot of locals in when we stayed, I think there was some kind of seminar happening? However, the locals sat on sun loungers drinking tea until late so if you wanted an early night it was loud.
Beach: Hotel has two beaches, i can only comment on Coral beach as we didn't go to the other (sandy Beach). We were advised it was their sister hotel, however there were no hotel, just what looked like beach huts? The place was filthy, toilets disgusting and dirty. We stayed an hour and half until the next available bus came. The sea was nice with the colourful fish but the place was rough.
I would not recommend this hotel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful Hotel & Exceptional Service – Xperience St. George Homestay
I had an amazing stay at Xperience St. George Homestay in Sharm El Sheikh! The hotel is absolutely beautiful — well-kept, peaceful, and full of charm. The staff were welcoming and always went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect throughout my stay.
One of the highlights was the fantastic shuttle bus service to both Naama Bay and Old Sharm (Old Town). It made exploring the area so easy and convenient, allowing me to enjoy the beaches, shops, and local culture without any stress.
The pool areas were lovely and relaxing, with plenty of space to unwind, and the food selection was great with something for everyone. Overall, it offered excellent value for money and a real sense of comfort and care.
🌴 A wonderful hotel with exceptional service — highly recommend for anyone visiting Sharm El Sheikh!
Cool stuff, normal restaurant experience, very energetic animation team with great spirit especially (Amir). thanks for the great time 😍
