Taipei Fullerton Hotel - Fuxing South

My first choice when staying in Taipei.
I was upgraded to a bigger and nicer room this time as a returning guest—a gesture I appreciated. Free breakfast was a good mixture of Chinese and Western options.

I erroneously assumed this is part of the Fullerton chain in Asia. It was not! They just named themselves The Fullerton. Not nice.
I booked the "Fullerton Room" assuming it was the signature room. It was a small room with one side of the bed only 2 ft away from the sliding door to the toilet/ bathroom.
The bathroom has one switch which turns on/off the lights and heating at the same time. It was considerate to have heating in the bathroom but there should be 2 separate switches for personal choices. We were there for 3 nights, 31°C!!! You get the picture.
The breakfast was ok.
No other onsite restaurants.
The one only positive is its proximity to a major MRT station.

Fullerton is my first choice when visiting Taipei.
I have stayed here many times. Love the kindness of the staff, vicinity to MRT, excellent breakfast and many dining options nearby.

I stayed at Taipei Fullerton South with my dad for a short getaway, and overall, it delivered solid value. The entry-level room was modern, clean, and comfortable — nothing overly special, but definitely good for the price. Check-in was fast and smooth, and the receptionist even gave us an early check-in. And the staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

The location is a real plus: just a short walk (under 5 minutes) to the MRT red line, which makes exploring the city very easy. You can even catch a view of Taipei 101 on the walk from the station, which was a nice touch. Facilities like the gym are a bit dated, but that didn’t really affect the stay much.

Breakfast, however, was extremely crowded — it seems like everyone gets it included — and the spread itself was fairly standard hotel fare, nothing particularly exciting. Still, it did the job before heading out for the day. (Although I would skip it and get some exciting Taiwanese fare nearby for cheap.)

For the price, this hotel is a strong value option if you’re prioritising convenience and a modern room. Personally, I’d probably try a different hotel next time — but if you’re looking for budget-friendly comfort near the MRT, this is a very solid choice.

The location is very convenient and steps away from the metro station. While it is on the main road, good noice insulation means you don’t hear the traffic or the elevated trains that go by. Breakfast buffet is just so so.

Friendly staffs, and very good breakfast!

Location, location, location. The hotel is conveniently located near Da'an Station servicing two major subway lines. Taipei 101, CKS Memorial and Taipei Main Station are all a few stops away on the Tamsui-Xinyi line. You can also ride it all the way to visit Tamsui. Use Exit 4 which has escalator access to exit from Da'an Station. There's a 7-11 and a few tea shops between the station and the hotel. Many restaurants, including a soy milk shop, are nearby. My favorite part is there are two SOGO department stores about 15 minutes away by foot; I prefer the food court and the bakery at the Fuxing SOGO.

The staff at the hotel were personable and helpful; I would give the staff 5+ stars. Breakfast was okay as the hot dishes were lukewarm at most. The only real negative was the windows in the room were quite small and dirty, especially on a rainy day with the condensation. It rained almost every day during my stay.

One of my favorite hotels in Taipei. Close to shopping and restaurants. Metro is in walking distance. Hotel offers free coffee and pastry during the day, in a lovely common area. Room itself is clean with a comfy bed.

Very welcming and accommodating stay.

This hotel is reasonably priced and in a great location. The Daan subway stop is only 5 minutes away on foot, and the Daan park about 13 (you can also take the subway 1 stop to minimize walking). The fitness center is lacking, but there's a decent gym called Project Fitness that's about a 3 minute walk that charges 1.5 NT per minute (just use your subway card). If you need to do laundry, there's a coin operated laundromat about 7 minutes away.

The included breakfast buffet includes enough variety to satisfy most palates. There's fruit, salad, breads, some hot dishes, scrambled eggs (you can kindly ask for hard boiled or fried eggs), soup, congee, and cereal.

The rooms are comfortable once the AC and dehumidifier are turned on. There's a mini fridge and they give you a bottle of water everyday, which is nice. And there's coffee, tea, and cookies available on the first floor. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return next time I'm in Taipei!

We booked 2 rooms and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We were also able to have book another night on the day of check out due to our flights being so late. The staff were very obliging.

Very reasonable prices at a great location! It is walking distance to eateries and shopping.

Situated in a great location, 3-minute walk to the Daan MRT station, which connects you to the Brown and Red Lines. A safe and preferred neighborhood within Taipei city.
The breakfast was awesome and delicious, offers a wide variety with fresh ingredients, coupled with attentive service from its restaurant staff, together, creates a great dining experience.
The room was well cleaned and quiet, though a tab smaller than its competitors of the same level, but still spacious and comfortable.
The public area was not as well cleaned compared to other hotels, likely the cleaning crew has arrived yet. When you raised the issue, they listened and took care of it. Some had better attitude than the other.
Overall, it met expectations.
If and only if the pricing is competitive, I will stay there again, as other hotels nearby are bigger, with better service and cleaning.
But I must say, of almost all hotels nearby (within 3 blocks), its breakfast is one of the best.

I enjoyed my stay. The place was clean, comfortable and located very close to public transportation. Service was great! 100 would recommend if traveling solo or couple.

The restaurant staffs were friendly, but the reception staffs were not friendly.

Love the property including staff as a whole.
