Perfect
Pros:

My family (myself, husband and two small children) stayed here for two nights at the tail end of our trip to Cartagena. This quaint hotel is a few steps from Plaza Trinidad in Getsemani. Lots of restaurants and action steps from the front door, but the hotel itself is super quiet. The ladies who run the place are so kind and hospitable, especially Yobelda and Lizabeth. On the ground floor there is courtyard area with couches where you can relax, along with a small dining area where you can eat a fresh cooked-to-order breakfast (fruit, bread, juice, coffee, granola, yogurt, eggs) is included in the rate (breakfast starts at 7am). On the top floor there is a massage area and pool with loungers. There is also a private bathroom and shower up there so you don’t have to go back to your room. When we stayed, there seemed to be at least one other family with children, a couple, and a trio of friends. There was space for all of us on the rooftop by the pool without feeling overly crowded. The rooftop also has a direct view to Castillo San Felipe in the distance. One day we also ordered lunch (fish, rice, plantains) and it was delicious. You do have to knock or ring the bell every time you leave the building and want to re-enter and you do have to leave your room key with staff when leaving the building, but it was no big deal to us. This is definitely not a party spot, which was perfect for us. The ladies at check-in did take security seriously and requested to see not only the passports, but birth certificates, of our children because of the different last names. Thankfully we had copies, and again, not a big deal to us, but worth mentioning so others are prepared when visiting. We hope to be back again soon!

Pros:

This is a private house transformed in “boutique hotel” with 5 rooms. We had probably the largest, sold as a suite (which it was not), and quite nice and well equipped although the bed was quite narrow and the shower anemic. As far as we could see, some of the other rooms looked like lacking windows... the patio is nice and breakfast pretty good, the swimming pool very small on the roof. Towels were lacking each time we went there. Service and welcome was minimalist and certainly not very friendly, which was a surprise given the style of the hotel. Location is good. Our stay was certainly not unpleasant but in general we found this hotel below our expectations. Not cheap.

Lovely place in the charming Getsemani area
Pros:

Stayed with a friend 1 night at the Casa Santa Ana Hotel Boutique - Spa, which we both enjoyed very much. They welcome you with a free drink of your choice. They have a lovely roof top pool, which was a perfect way to cool down in the heat. They do some lovely massages and facial treatments, which we unfortunately didn't have time to try.The Garden and breakfast is gorgeous and the staff cannot do enough for you so can only recommend this place.

Charming boutique hotel hidden in the middle of vibrant Getsemaní
Pros:

Charming, comfortable and caring! We stayed for a total of 5 nights during the Christmas/New years period and we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to enjoy our stay in Cartagena. Hidden amongst the vibrant colour of the Getsemani area, this hotel offers all of the necessary functions of a standard hotel whilst doing so in a charming and personal way.

From the moment we arrived we were given a cold flannel and a welcome drink to enjoy and cool off in the comfortable open-space living room. After checking in, our bags were taken to our room for us. This was exactly the warm welcome we needed after previously staying in another hotel in Cartagena and walking in the blazing heat to get to Casa Santa Ana.

Excellent Hotel in Great Location
Pros:

The location is wonderful- right near a lively plaza, good restaurants and walking distance to the older part of the city. We LOVED our room, the breakfasts, and the staff was very helpful in their service and giving us directions on places to go.

We got massages on the roof one afternoon and they were excellent. Highly recommend this service. We were also so thankful for the pool as Cartagena is a very hot city and we took dips throughout the day after exploring the castle and walled city.

This is a very nice place and really makes you feel like you're in a special, old part of the city. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel and Great Location
Pros:

This place is amazing! We stayed for a total of 3 nights and I did not want to leave!!!

Service is amazing. As soon as we arrived in the late afternoon we were greeted with a very warm welcome and escorted to the open space living room of the hotel, (unlike all the other check-in experiences we've had, this was the best) treated to a drink of choice and a small gift bag and about 15/20 minutes of just hanging out in the open courtyard taking in the view of the nice hotel, we were escorted to our room. This action definitely made us feel very welcomed.

Our room was on the second floor. Very nicely decorated room. Bathroom was good too but water pressure was weak and it took a while for hot water to come through but we did not mind that since its hot in Cartagena and the cool/warm shower was good.

The room was equipped with AC and a fan and both worked great for the hot weather!

Breakfast was made to order from the menu and everyday there was a new type of juice being served at breakfast, we got to try different juice everyday which was great!

Staff were very hospitable, friendly and very accommodating. Hotel was always quite and we did not hear any noise coming from within the hotel or outside the hotel even with the Trinidad Plaza just couple of steps away.

My only comment would be the access to the hotel. Every time we had to leave, we had to leave the key in the hotel with one of the staff and they would have to unlock the front door for us and when we would come back the door is locked so we had to use the intercom to ask for someone to open the door for us. This was a little annoying especially if we had to get back very late at night and we still had to wait for the door to be opened. Wished there was a card access or something similar to ease the access of entering the hotel.

I would definitely stay at the hotel again!

We were cheerfully greeted at the front door by staff. The hotel is centrally located to most eateries and just outside of the Walled City. We absolutely loved, loved, loved our stay at the Santa Ana Hotel. Highly recommend. You wont regret it.

Clean hotel but risk of being overbooked and moved to another property without warning.
Pros:

My experience was not positive. I arrived late at night and they had overbooked the property and sent me to a sister location. New room was NOT comparable (small, poor decor, towels given to me were wet) and they overcharged me more than price online for this night. I got my money back from the travel site NOT from Casa Santa Ana. It is true that Casa Santa Ana is clean and in a good location but this error (and overcharge) really makes this an unsatisfactory stay.

Would give 6 stars if I could
Pros:

I just stayed here three nights, on a trip with friends. My friend found this boutique hotel online, and it was wonderful in so many ways.
1) Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Laura is the owner and speaks English (helpful to me). She was available by phone and whats app before and during my trip at any time. Her staff were super friendly with good senses of humor! The extra touch was today, when we had trouble getting a taxi to the airport (there had been a rainstorm- taxis were in high demand- the taxi they booked for us cancelled)... so they gave us a personal ride to airport to ensure we did not miss our flight.
2) The hotel itself. Cute, old house with interior patio, recently renovated. Rooms are nice, good AC. Breakfast cooked to order. Pool on the roof was amazing relief at end of hot and humid day of sightseeing (look for the parrots swarming around a nearby tree).
3) Location- in the hip neighborhood, right off a lively square!! But quiet, calm, down a side street. You can walk to the walled main old city in 10 mins. But this neighborhood is hipper I think!

Note that while the hotel is AWESOME, it is dependent on the utilities/ infrastructure of the city of Cartagena. A few times the wifi was down- not their fault. So go with the flow!

Pros:

Casa de Santa Ana is a family-owned boutique hotel in the heart of a lively neighborhood just outside the Old City. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Visiting Cartagena during a rare heatwave, with temps in the 90’s F, the AC in the room was a welcome relief. And they serve the best coconut limeade in the city!
