The hotel re opened for the season on April 30- the day we arrived for our holiday . Unfortunately problems started at check in...make sure you email the hotel your details, email is essential or you will be waiting ages, until they receive one from you...even if you are standing at the desk!.As I use a wheelchair I was on the lower floor. My room was beautiful and everything I expected. However the rest of my family were on the 6th ..and all 3 rooms ,and most of the rooms on the floor, the showers flooded due to blocked drains, which took nearly 2 days to fix We were on a all inclusive package of breakfast, lunch and dinner with. snacks and drinks. Only in the last day did they put signs above each meal station to say what it was, this would have made a huge difference when choosing a meat or such and they wouldn't have had so much waste. The food was always barely warm...great choice but not hot, I I was there first off for each meal. The restaurant staff were wonderful and pleasant however. But the most disappointing part was the swimming pool ( it did not open until 11 am and at 7 pm it closed ) have a disability and the pool was not accessible to me because (1) the ladders into it were vertical to such an extent even the adults in our group found difficulty, no slope. (2) But they did have a hoist so I thought great I can go swimming... But no it too was not working! My family booked this hotel because it was disability friendly and so that I could swim with my grandchildren..they also had an indoor pool but that one was empty! All of these things should have been sorted the week before they opened, not during the week. But the final issue we had was with the substandard food they gave to the 'all inclusive ' people at the snack bar ...I got a hotdog there , cold and did not look like a hotdog more like a pale sausage...but another person (not inclusive guest) who paid for their hotdog got a beautiful long hot one, it looked totally different, same with a burger that was ordered by my daughter. My daughter stayed during August last year and it was fabulous she said, which is why we booked it . It is a beautiful hotel and I would say, if it wasn't that we came on the day they opened , it would have been good mid season . They did have a kids club and nightly entertainment which was good.
My advice is just check your hotels opening day, is it always open or just seasonal like this one was, and do not book for opening day!
Instalaciones
Nada
My family stayed here beginning of may for 5 nights. My partner, myself and 2 kids in one room. 6th floor. My sister her partner and 2 kids another room 6th floor, my other sister a room to herself also 6th floor. Almost every single shower on our floor flooded instantly upon use. Maintenance fixed them when contacted but considering we arrived the day they opened for the season I feel that's something that should have been checked and sorted before opening. You could tell which rooms had the issue as the carpet in the hall outside each room had large wet spots. Also the showergel/shampoo holders in the shower are flimsy. Barely stuck on. There was no fan or air con or anything in our bathroom so it steamed up immediately. The room was spotless. 2 big beds pushed together was perfect for the 4 of us. Nice big tv and we were able to use our Netflix accounts very easily on it. Nice balcony with a drying rack for clothes. A bit annoying that there was no chairs to sit on but i assume they have reasons for it even though we could see every other balcony on floors below us had chairs. We heard no noise from music downstairs at all. All staff we encountered were really nice. Staff is not the issue here, the hotel itself was just not up to standard for opening. My sister has stayed before around end of season and had no issues at all. The food wasn't great. We went all inclusive which was handy but not worth it tbh. The food was essentially the same everyday. Maybe 1 or 2 things different but that's it. Staff kept the food trays topped up but unless you went to the omelette station, the food was all cold. They have the food under lights but literally there was nothing keeping the food warm at all. We arrived for meals generally within 30mins of the restaurant opening and everything was stone cold. There was no labels on anything saying what things were so it was a bit of a gamble. Thankfully my kids are happy with chicken nuggets and chips which they always had available. The bananas were not good. I have no issue with a bruised banana at all but these were green on the outside and really mushy inside. The wait Staff were excellent, really efficient and helpful. Plenty of places to sit. A variety of juices in the morning. I wish the juice station was open during lunch and dinner too for kids. The pool bar wasn't great. I asked what non alcoholic cocktails they have. San Francisco, Mojito and Pina Colada. I got the pina colada, really nice. The next day I ordered it again and restated no alcohol. Confirmed there was no alcohol, my kid asked for a little sip so I said yes, she hated it and I assumed she just didn't like the flavour. I took a sip, instant alcohol burn. Had my partner check too. Definitely alcohol. Now she literally barely had a drop and I don't have issue with alcohol or anything I just choose not to drink as I don't like it. But I imagine that oversight would be really distressing for someone who may be in recovery or anything. I wasn't impressed with the food quality at the bar either. Everything seemed microwaved and the menu for people paying and people who are all inclusive is very different. My nephew saw someone go by with a hotdog and asked for one. The other hotdog looked amazing. Big dog, lovely colour, toppings etc... my nephews was literally half the size, grey and stone cold. That's not an exaggeration, the meat was grey. There shouldn't be food differences like that. We've paid enough for all inclusive. Same with the burgers. If paying it looked incredible with lettuce tomato etc.. all inclusive it was like a slightly less appealing rustlers burger. A lot of drink options for paying but all inclusive was a choice of 2 beers. They have a big poster on the front of all the kids ice creams available but they literally had none except 2 basic ice pops. If you're paying there is a variety of different crisps you can get but all inclusive was essentially a handful of ready salted crisps in a small McDonald's style fries carton. Hugely disappointing. All inclusive costs so much more and you're almost made feel like a pauper. The pool area was fine. Not heated but I'm not sure if that's standard so I can't say much. They advertise an indoor pool which would have been great as it rained a bit. But the pool wasn't filled. The downstairs girls bathroom lights didn't work and there were many holes in the ceiling. Also the bathroom floor was completely flooded. The entry to the pool is not disabled friendly. It's a steep ladder , no tiered steps. Very disappointing for my disabled mother who was most excited about using the pool. They advertise it as disability friendly as they have a hoist. Which they do. But they have no key for it. 3 seperate days we asked about the hoist being sorted and everytime we were told tomorrow. Tomorrow didn't happen. The walkway around the pool is crazy dangerous. I counted no less than 9 times that people slipped and fell hard on the ground. The life guard paid no mind to this. One person fell right in front of him and he didn't so much as offer a helping hand up. They also advertise spa facilities. These we were informed are on the premises but are done by an independent company...who weren't there yet. So the spa facilities are not available during may it seems. Why open in may when you're not ready. Kids club was great. Kids were able to pop in and out as they wanted. My kids loved the mini disco in the evenings and the group in charge were great, really friendly and energetic. They have 4 pool tables and 2 or 3 little try to win a stuffie machines. My kids really enjoyed the holiday and that's the main thing but I'd be lying if I said it was worth the cost. Absolutely not a staff issue at all. It was all done to subpar food and the hotel just not seeming like it was ready to be open yet. I'm putting it down to start of season teething problems but I wasn't impressed. As I said my sisters been in September and had an entirely different experience, even she said this time round was a huge let down and drop in standards.
We had a great time here. We arrived on Thursday and found out it was the first day open after a Winter refurb, but we wouldn't have known that as the service was on point. Reception, Bar and Resteraunt staff were all lovely and very helpful. It was the start of the season so it was very quiet around the town. The reteraunt seemed to be very busy at the weekend, I think due to the bank holiday, and guests were queing for breakfast so would advise getting there early if it is busy. The food was really lovely, something for everyone! There are no kettles in the room, but you can hire from reception for 20 euros, and you get this back when you return it. We came with our 9 year old daughter who had a blast in the pool and use of the slides. Nice walk over to Salou, or you can taxi/bus it very easily. We got the bus to Barcelone from outside the hotel, that was really easy (50 euros for 3 of us 1 way). Struggled getting the bus back, so opted for the train( they are doing work on the trainlines so this turned out to also be quite difficuly) - so I would recommend booking it as an excersion, especially if you have kids!

No volveré.
