Children aged 3 to 14 years are welcome to the pool, under the supervision of an adult, from 10:00 to 11:30 and from 14:00 to 15:30. From January 1st 2025, the access will change to be from 07:00 to 10:00 daily.
Children aged 16 years and below are not allowed to use the gym, hammam, sauna and jacuzzi at any time. Please note that treatments are available for guests aged 18 years and older.
The gym area, including a yoga and pilates studio, is open daily from 06:30 until 22:30. Also, a team of personal trainers is available to assist you.
The Conservatorium Hotel is a cashless property and only accepts digital payments.

We had an excellent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Amsterdam. The hotel is beautiful, the service was generally outstanding, and almost every aspect of our experience met the high standards one would expect from Mandarin Oriental.
Unfortunately, one incident at the end of our stay left me extremely disappointed and concerned.
I had fully prepaid our stay through Booking.com before arrival. At check-in, I was asked to provide a credit card for a €200 security deposit. I specifically and clearly confirmed that no additional amount should be charged to my card, since the accommodation had already been paid in full.
However, approximately 24 hours later, I happened to notice that the entire cost of our stay had been charged to my credit card again, without my authorization — effectively charging me twice for the accommodation.
When I brought this to the hotel’s attention, the transaction was reversed, but what concerned me even more was the response. I was simply told, “It was a mistake.” When I asked what would have happened if I had not noticed the charge myself, the answer was again essentially, “It was a mistake.”
Mistakes can happen, of course, but an unauthorized charge of the full cost of a stay — particularly after a guest has explicitly confirmed that the stay is already fully paid — is not a minor error. It raises an important question about the hotel’s payment controls and whether the duplicate charge would have been identified and corrected had I not discovered it myself.
The hotel did reverse the transaction promptly once I raised the issue, and I appreciate that. Nevertheless, at this level of hospitality, guests should be able to trust that their credit cards will be handled with absolute care and that charges will only be made with proper authorization.
It is unfortunate because, aside from this incident, our stay was genuinely excellent.

Comodissimo il servizio di valet parking, siamo tra i pochissimi italiani arrivati ad Amsterdam con la propria auto. Gentilissimo e disponibile lo staff all'ingresso, che alla partenza ci ha fornito provviste extra di acqua. Posizione strategica nel quartiere "Museumplein".
Unica pecca il mancato funzionamento della TV in camera, ma in una città come Amsterdam è un particolare trascurabile...
Selected this hotel for its museum-adjacent location and because it was featured as a FINE HOTEL on American Express site. We were given a split-level room (supposedly an upgrade) which we found very disappointing. The stairwell is very steep which was not an issue for us, but likely would be for many visitors. The bed was on the upper level with the main level designated for "sitting". However, there was a very low to the floor couch (looked like from student housing at the end of a school year !!) with an extremely low table and 1 plastic desk chair. I couldn't believe it !! So we could not comfortably sit in our room. We also found that the lobby seating was designated primarily for cafe customers and the few seats on the outside deck were for the restaurant patrons (and some smokers). So comfottable it was not. On our final day I ordered a poached egg with potatoes on the side ... the egg arrived ALONE and it took more than 20 minutes for the 4 or 5 fingerling potatoes to arrive .... not apology whatever.
Not at all what we were expecting from other reviews and certainly not worth the very high price. Extremely disappointed.
The location was the only thing I really liked about the hotel.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay.
* Street noise could clearly be heard inside the room.
* There were no water bottles available next to the bed, and even when I called reception to request water for the room, it was never delivered.
* The bathroom doors were very difficult to push open. When opened, they block the hallway leading to the room. The bathroom itself is quite small, with too many doors, making the space inconvenient and difficult to use.
* Reception service was very slow. When calling from the room, the phone could ring for around five minutes before someone answered.
* The room-cleaning light was not working. I reported the issue, but it was never fixed.
* The payment situation at check-out was particularly concerning. The room charge had already been taken from my account two days before my arrival. However, at check-out, the receptionist asked me to pay the room charge again. I explained that the amount had already been charged before my arrival, and she told me that she would check the previous transactions.
Overall, apart from the location, I did not feel that the service and room experience matched the standard I expected from a Mandarin Oriental hotel.

This is a beautiful property - converted from various previous guises including a bank - with a jaw dropping glass covered lobby.
Our room was a duplex, with a dining room, living room and bathroom on the lower floor and bedroom and further bathroom (including standalone bath) on the upper floor. We had a coffee machine, fridge and two TVs in the room, which was very impressive. The bed was very comfortable.
There is an Ottolenghi restaurant, lounge dining, caviar bar and small parade of shops, plus gym, spa and hairdresser available.
Everything is done very well and our interactions with the staff were generally great.
The location is very good - close to the Van Gogh museum and relatively short walk to the central tourist area.
A fair price for the quality.

Early morning staff on Sunday was not very qualified.
