My room has no internet service. You put me in the worse room in the hotel. The room was cold and smells bad.
Bueno
La ventana de la habitación no cerraba. El colgador de las toallas estaba roto. El check out decía era a la 1pm. Me tocó entregar a las 12pm
Solo deberian mejorar el servicio de habitación.
The area is not safe at all, they took one of my friends towell.
The woman at the reception was not amicable.
Great hotel! Very clean and good breakfast. I would stay again!
At the end of the main shopping street. Room okay but dark and bed not the best I had during my trip. Quite noisy due to screaming children in the hotel. Breakfast nice, wide choice of food and drink.
The staff was super helpful and patient with me as I stumbled through my requests in limited Spanish. The room was clean and bright and the shower was nice and hot, which isn't a given in Colombia. Definitely a great value for the price. It's right on the edge of the tourist area, so it takes a little bit of walking but overall I would definitely recommend.
Hotel is pretty decent and updated . Stayed here for a night for a long layover in Bogota.
If you're looking for a place to just rest up in between flights , I would recommend looking for something else. There are hotels closer to the airport, this one was about a 10 min cab drive. I arrived at the hotel around 11 at night , tired, and looking to wash up and rest before my next flight. The bathroom was small but served its purpose . It was the noise in between the walls that i could not tolerate at 1 in the morning. There was either a huge rat running between the walls or someone doing some electrical wiring in the next room, AT 1 AM... ill let you be the judge of which of the two was the case. Definitely could not sleep with all that rumble.
If I could, I would have given 3,5 stars. In this price range it is worth 3 stars, but the employees did definitely a good job so 3 is maybe just to less.
The room i had was very nice and clean. Big enough, though the bathroom was a bit tight. The shower was really good! You have to wait a little time, but it gets really nice and hot. The bed was fine! Since it was a little bit cold in the room I appreciated the thicker sheets.
Wifi is okay, nothing fancy. The location of the hotel is perfect and most sites, bars and restaurants are just a small stroll away. Like I wrote before, the staff was very nice and helpful. Overall I had a good stay. Didn't check other options in the same range, but I think this hotel is worth its price.
Breakfast wasn't included btw.
My mother and I stayed in this hotel only for a few hours because the noise from the building site next door was overwhelmingly loud. Ordinarily, noise is not an issue but after a long check-in process where we were clear we were after a good sleep, we were led up 4 flights of stairs to a very basic room for the price point overlooking a large construction site which was incredibly loud. It's possible that rooms facing the other direction could be better but the walls and windows are very thin. There is no hot water in the bathroom which is tricky when it is quite cold in Bogota and not much on the bed to keep you warm. We opted to stay elsewhere.
Hotel is nice but no hot water and poor customer service. Did not book thru T.A. I have a friend in Bogota who speaks spanish. I stayed the night and left late afternoon after they assured me they would fix the problem. They even charged my credit card 7%. I went to Hotel del Parque Superior who received many bad reviews. My friend spoke to both hotels and Parque were very nice.
If it were not for the professional English speaking woman at the front desk, I would not consider recommending this hotel. Internet was not working well, but she handled it well...and sold us the room.
However, it became clear, the owner has little interest in more than just selling rooms...up-keep is not great, and while the staff is clearly trying, it is clear ownership is not.
So..pretty mixed.. I have been to great hotels with poor service...and this time was a mediocre hotel with a great staff person that made the sale.
My wife and I stayed here as a stopover for one night before a flight to Cartagena. Good location and great value if you don't want to spend more than 90 on a room and if you want to be in an interesting and easy to navigate (at least by foot) section of town. The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel is within walking distance of Cerro Monseret, El Museo de Oro and other Bogota Highlights (we only had time to do one and chose Cerro Monserat and was not disappionted in the least).
Words of caution:
1.) There was no hot water. This was not an issue for us, but it could be depending on the activities you are doing (Bogota can be chilly so the cold water was not recreshing).
2.) The windows are not sound proof. We heard street noise -- our room was second floor street side along Carrera 5 -- until midnight, though the loud human noises cut out at 10ish.
We had considered hotels in Fontibon and in Normandia. I'm glad we landed in Candelaria. There is a lot more to do within walking distance. Not to mention, Fontibon is a disgusting section of a city that is alteady poluted and grey.
Both of us thought the staff and service would be hard to beat and were the high point of our stay: the breakfast served was good but devoid of fruit (not typical of South American hotels). The room was very nice although quite small - we thought only one of us could standup at the same time. Just mentioning this to the manager, however, got us a larger room, without any price increase. Most of the rooms, though, are pretty small. The location threw us at first as it seemed to be in fairly grungy part of the city. We got used to this after a while and actually enjoyed the daily 30 minute walk to and from the historic center of Bogota. An excellent restaurant was within walking distance as well!
