C’était honnêtement l’une des pires expériences que j’ai eues dans une auberge.

J’arrivais directement de l’aéroport après un très long voyage international. J’avais pourtant bien informé l’auberge via Booking de mon arrivée tardive et du fait que je paierais en espèces. Mon dernier message sur la plateforme confirmait clairement ma venue.

À mon arrivée, personne n’a ouvert la porte. J’ai sonné pendant environ 30 minutes sans aucune réponse. Je ne parle pas espagnol, je n’avais pas encore internet, et l’auberge est située dans un endroit isolé, donc il était très difficile de trouver de l’aide.

La seule personne que j’ai trouvée à proximité était un gardien armé qui a refusé de m’aider et s’est montré très hostile et raciste.

Je n’ai finalement eu d’autre choix que d’appeler le 911 et d’attendre la police pendant presque 2 heures sur le trottoir. Quand les policiers sont arrivés, ils m’ont dit qu’ils allaient faire ouvrir la porte de l’auberge. Honnêtement, je n’y croyais pas, car moi-même j’avais déjà sonné pendant très longtemps auparavant.

Étrangement, dès que la police est arrivée avec les gyrophares et a sonné à son tour, deux personnes ont immédiatement ouvert la porte. Cela signifie qu’ils étaient à l’intérieur depuis le début et m’ignoraient volontairement.

J’étais complètement choqué et épuisé.

Ils ont ensuite accepté mon paiement en espèces, puis ont annulé la réservation Booking quelques minutes plus tard, ce qui donne sincèrement l’impression qu’ils voulaient éviter que je puisse laisser un commentaire public sur cette situation.

Le lendemain matin, avant de partir prendre mon ferry, j’ai demandé un reçu afin d’avoir une preuve de mon séjour puisque la réservation avait été annulée.

La dame a essayé de m’expliquer qu’ils avaient tenté de me contacter, mais j’étais en voyage depuis Londres le 17 et je suis arrivé au Honduras le 18 au soir : j’étais littéralement dans les avions et en transit, il m’était impossible de répondre.

Pros:

La atención de los dueños de casa es amable y atenta.
El alojamiento estaba limpio y tiene agua caliente.
Solo lo usé para dormir una noche, llegué tarde y me fui temprano.

Cons:

No es un Hostel como tal, es una casa de familia que rentan habitaciones.
La cocina si bien se puede hacer uso, es la de uso de la familia.
El precio es elevado para la relación costo beneficio.

Pros:

Very friendly and accommodating, replied promptly to emails and were very communicative prior to stay. Organised airport pick up at my request (at extra cost), and woke up to open reception very early so I could check out before my flight. Comfortable beds and adequate washing facilities. Good wifi, balcony with hammock! Will also do laundry at small cost.

Cons:

Limited hot water so showers are lukewarm- although not much of a problem in the hot weather!
