Great experience
Pros:

The room was really nice, very practical and well maintained, I loved my stay, and was eager to come back at the end of my trip.
I would recommend asking for one of the renovated rooms, it seems there are great floors with great rooms and decrepit floors with terrible rooms. I was on the first floor, in one of the basic room.

Cons:

- The view was terrible, you have a direct view on the neighbors windows, absolutely zero privacy
- Check-in experience is really bad after hours (and there are not many hours...)
- Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde: I had a 2nd booking 3 weeks later, which went terribly bad

Terribly bad experience
Pros:

The view was awesome, by far the best view I ever had in my entire life: a huge terrace with the best view on the Aukland Tower one can possibly conceive.
Also when I complained about the room, they gave me a better one on the 6th floor.

Cons:

Everything. The room was in HORRIBLE conditions, all sort of things were badly and obviously broken, the 7th floor was old, decrepit, dirty. I have never seen a room that poorly maintained, except in some old 1970s hotels that were on the brink of bankruptcy. This floor must be closed to the public at once, and renovated in the most urgent manner. I would be ashamed to present such a place to the general public.

It's a shame because I was in this hotel at the beginning of my stay, on the 1st floor, and I though during all my tour of New Zealand: "the first hotel I was in was awesome! I can't wait to go back there when I come back to Auckland!"

Excellent location in city centre. However, the cleanliness level very poor.
Pros:

Great location. Comfortable bed. Nice coffee machine. Shower water pressure good. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash OK.

Cons:

Lack of maintenance and poor level of cleanliness. Moudly bathroom especially around the edges. Bottom end of the door and bottom door frame requires maintenance. Bathroom sink overflow hole is also mouldy. The bathroom lights are of low lumens and very dim. Difficult to see with poor lighting.

Broken extract fan. The front panel is missing/broken. Not working when turned on. Cooking hob needs proper clean with Ceraclean cooktop cleaner/polish.

Curtain in bedroom not hung properly missing a hook. There is no privacy. The curtains in the bedroom has to be be closed 24/7 as the bedroom overlooks the apartment units across. The blinds in the kitchen area has to be closed 24/7 as the bedroom overlooks the apartment units across. We could draw the curtains by the TV area as it's not as intimidating as the other side. No sunblind or net curtains to provide privacy during daytime, so has the keep the curtains/blinds closed.

Many rooms need renovation
Pros:

My apartment was quite clean and well appointed however others are very bad and not clean.

Cons:

I couldn’t stop at any other floor to visit friends. Getting more than one key was a hassle. Couldn’t leave our bags at reception until 9am so had to roll cases around for 3 hours.

DO NOT STAY HERE - I would strongly advise against staying at this property. On the final night of my stay, I slept on the couch for the first time and subsequently experienced what appeared to be multiple bedbug bites on my face and arms. I reported the issue to the hotel and was provided with €34 in Booking.com credit. Based on my experience, the cleanliness standards at this hotel were not acceptable.
