Great location in main area of Devonport and therefore close to water and eateries. Bottled water provided in fridge.
Could do with a refurbishment. Bedroom was outdated and old fashioned with a musty smell coming from the headboard. Bed was very soft (not to my liking but that is a personal preference) and bathroom was huge but very outdated and gave me the "ick". Hot tap moved when operated and it wasn't supposed to! On check in, staff wanted to photocopy my identity document and I refused as I don't believe anyone should have access to copies of that when they are not a government agent. (Room was paid for upfront and name and address details known/ easily obtained.) If I had known this was a requirement I would have booked elsewhere so maybe they should advertise this better. Identity fraud is too prevalent these days and I think they need to understand that they put themselves in a compromising position by requiring this.
It’s a gorgeous old building from the outside. The location is fab.
The interior is equally old, but much less gorgeous. The rooms need a major overhaul, but the bathroom in our room was definitely refurbed in more recent years and had a huge bathtub. It’s supposed to be a spa bath but the jets didn’t work. Our room hadn’t been vacuumed properly as there were a lot of hairs and debris in the carpet. The bench space also was dusty with debris. The old and never-washed blankets and cushions were removed immediately.
the location was great room great with conservatory sitting area and staff excellent
Issues with reception on tv
Had room 107 so had the huge balcony on the front overlooking the sea.
Great location. Comfortable and private.
Faded granduer. Staff not interested in clients.
Historical feel great location
Lady on desk not very warm
Hotel is tired and facilities need fixing up
Great location, clean, historic, friendly staff, great facilities. The sunroom was amazing.
Had issues getting the tv to work but staff were easily contactable to help fix it
Historically well preserved, this building and room we stayed in was quaint and very quietly located. The staff were very helpful and kind. They advertised coffee and muffins but we never got to enjoy them. Highly recommend this location.
Historical location with ease to all the best things in the area.
Big rooms big bathroom
Parking on the street but u can see vehicle from room window
I hadn't realised we'd booked an apartment, it was huge and suited us very well but very expensive
It would have been nice to have breakfasted there, within the same price.
Very comfortable sized room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed.
Clean room and lovely shampoo/conditioner and soaps.
The Hotel is dated but that gives it a certain charm. As long as you understand what you are booking you will be happy.
Great location. Bueatiful historic hotel
The room was very small.
Suggestions to make the room more comfortable for 2 people include:
Remove microwave from.the room if it's not to be used by guests. Put the fridge next to the sink so there is space in the wardrobe.
Remove 1 of the 2 heaters during summer. Not needed.
Replace the old bulky curtains with blinds.
This room is overpriced and should either be upgraded or reduce price.
Put the TV on the wall would create space.
