Hyatt Place Boston/Braintree

I was charged $279 because of a faulty smoke detector. I was lied to. I had stayed at this location five or six times in the past couple months and never had an issue... My significant other had Room To go get something out of our vehicle And the door shut a little hard and smoked detector fell. About 5 minutes later there was a knock on the door from maintenance stating that their panel was showing we smoke alarm being activated.. Apparently if it is disconnected it sends a signal to the maintenance office that there is a fire ..He askedTo verify again that there was no fireWhich I didI asked him to come in and check for himself And to put the smoke detector back up Which he refused 5 minutes later I get a notification On my phone that they charged me $279 for the Fire Department coming out. Which they did not. I was told I would not get a refund and that I needed to call the gay manager in the morning which I did.She told me All she could do is Refund $125. But instead of receiving a refund 4 hours later i got another notification stating that i was charged another $279 so they have charged me twice..They are Crooks .I filed a dispute with my credit card company and waiting for an answer..

There were many things I didn’t enjoy about my stay unfortunately and it’s not a hotel I would recommend to anyone I know. The way the bathrooms were arranged, I almost smashed out the shower glass sliding door by accident with my elbow because of how close quarters, it was to the toilet. In comparison I have to say the Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel across the way, was so much better and updated! I absolutely loved it and would much have preferred to stay there an extra day if they had an open availability for the dates we needed. The amenities in my honest opinion at the Hyatt were extremely outdated and not very cleanly looking or new. I felt that the lobby area was deceiving because it looked very clean and updated. Then when we arrived to our room, that in fact was not at all the case. In fact I was actually quite disappointed to say the least. The view was very industrial and nothing special. I didn’t try out the breakfast so I can’t speak on that. The staff was ok, not overly friendly or rude. Just kind of there doing the job and getting people checked-in and out as quickly as possible understandably. There was an issue when I first arrive to the hotel where my booking was not showing as paid for although the money was pending from my bank account. Fortunately that was quickly resolved, but it wasn’t what I expected to have to deal with as soon as I walked in. I was really just wanting to relax and if anything, it felt less relaxing than I had imagined it’d been.

Did not like barking of dog at 8am and banging of loud noises, running around outside of the door and above the room early in the morning. Also half the outlets were not working. So only had 2 lamps working

Dirty, sink clogged with hair, TV did not work. Dirty floors

The rooms are outdated and poor lighting

Toilet too low and too small for adults

Staff was not very pleasant or welcoming , too many people at entrance smoking
