Absolutely stunning hotel

Horrible! Run as fast as you can ‘ The rooms have no soap to wash hands , no face cloths or hand towels. 2 shower towels . Gym consists of 4 elliptical. . Roof top is absurd, when you step out you can fall through a hole covered with rotten plywood. Breakfast is another joke instant coffee with a choice of 2 fruits thats if there is any left . A menu that is less desirable. Sheets have holes tore when I pulled them up . Wish we had of toured this place prior to paying . Dirty hallways .
No star id this place .

Location was very good and the staff is very kind and accomodating. Bed comfortable.
Hotel is tired, no gym, the pool is in the shade and no one uses it. Pictures make it look nicer then it is. It also borders on a large stinky water causeway. We only stayed here as a last minute resort afor one night and booked another one for 4 nights.

Pleasant staff makes all the difference.
Although the hotel is not right in the Old City, it is at a walkable distance and away from the busy street of Ta Pae.
The hotel itself is quite dated and maybe going through some sort of lawsuit as there were a huge banner stating that the owner is no longer taking any responsibility for any incidents occurring within the facility. The website and contact number no longer works.

I was arriving late from the airport. The hotel staff went out of their way to help me and get me food after the kitchen was closed.

Staff and cleanliness very good, but Wi-Fi very unreliable

Clean room, friendly staff, good environment, good view, like the view from the rooftop definitely coming back for the next visit, pool is very clean, parking is quick and easy, polite people, good safety, good laundry service, good location to go around Chiangmai

very smart hotel staff were excellent and very helpful and so friendly

The rooms are larger and with a small balcony. The carpeted areas in the hallways need a good vacuum cleaning. A bit of a walk to get where actions are. Hot water with a bathtub is a plus.

Very nice hotel and staff. Great breakfast buffet. We had a balcony with a beautiful mountain and sunset view. Some upgrades would be good such as fresh paint, and replace worn furniture and carpets. We liked it enough to return after a week in another city.

I recommend Royal Peninsula Hotel, excellent location, close to old city and other attractions. Hotel staffs are friendly, responsive and always smiling. We enjoyed a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The room was good and clean with Mountain View. I enjoyed live music in the evenings and on weekends. The hotel is perfect for comfortable and relaxing vacation, also for performing events as noticed during our stay.

We stayed for about 3 weeks. We felt home. The rooms are very clean spacious, service is excellent, the location is great and the staff is super. They care about every guest as if he's the only guest they have.
They care about entertainment , they select very good singers to perform almost daily in the open air area at the entrance of the hotel. The hotel also provides dancing classes. Many people go to dine and dance in their restaurant.
Definitely I would go back whenever I visit Chiang Mai.

It was clean but kind of older and needs updated. Some doors didn't close.

this hotel looking good from the outside that's was it nothing in side is good.
I'm so.. angry with myself for poor decision I made in booking this hotel.
Let me explain, we arrived 2 1/2 hours after check in time at 16.30 pm was ask for passport and told to go find a seat and wait because they are busy, we did, after about 20 minutes I went to the counter to ask them what's happening they again told us to wait! we finally got the key hour 20 minute after we arrived
We would have left if we didn't paid everything in advance 2 months before hand.
With out realize the worst hotel we have ever been on a waiting.
Upon arrival at our floor as soon as the lift open is like we arrived at a prison grim and dimly lit hall very dirty carpet and I mean very very dirty.
The room is so dirty dated and grim air con don't work the first thing I did is to use a bathroom after I finish I reach for spray gun as there's no toilet tissue and to my horror there's dry feces on it.
I just want to cry. So, we decided to go online to look for another hotel near by but being the week of loy katong festival we can't find anywhere it's ruin my holiday.
So, please, people, don't make the same mistake as us I do not understand how can there be a good reviews? To me this is disgusting place trust me when I say this as my standard is not that high.

This hotel was really good value and had an excellent location, right near the corner of Chiang Mai city wall. Room had everything we required although dated, we could not complain. Our kids loved the swimming pool.
Bed mattresses and bedding were super comfy.

We have been staying at the Royal Peninsula for some ten years on our regular visits to Chiang Mai.
The hotel has recently changed ownership and there have been many updates to decor etc including a new swimming pool.
The hotel is very close to the heart of the old city and Tha Phae Gate.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming the rooms very clean and comfortable
The hotel provides a good breakfast and other meals are available.
Definitely a recommended place to stay whether on your own or with family and friends.
