Guangzhou River Rhythm Hotel

Conveniently located, clean, modern amenities. We got the 50 sq. m room with king bed . . . the room is HUGE! The staff were very pleasant and professional, yet friendly. Some of the staff spoke English quite well, but others made the effort when they saw that my Mandarin was - lacking - to communicate. Overall, a great value, and we will stay again!

Unfortunately, terrible experience, I booked a room that is non-smoking the room I got was smoking with ashtrays all over, when I complained they send someone over to spray to make it a non-smoking room. From time of checking in until departure none of the employees speak English, Internet definitely not high-speed and hard to connect since all instructions are in Chinese only, in room menu Chinese only, 38 TV channels in Chinese only, when I asked them to adjust the channels to provide me with at least one English-speaking China the reply was a big laugh, the hotel lobby, elevators, hallways, all smelled like a smoke shop.
This is supposed to be a four-stars hotel; it is definitely not. Not even a bellboy to help you with the luggage. On the first day of my stay I went to check out the breakfast not even the coffee was worth entering this dining room.
If you’re not Chinese, this hotel is not for you. Very bad service very bad front desk attitude they just don’t like foreigners.
When calling Expedia with my complaints requesting to switch at hotel speaking with two different guys paying over $35.00 for phone call and waiting time, their reply to my room was a non-smoking room is only a request, and if available, if you change this hotel, you will not get a refund for this booking, I found it to be a very bad reply for Expedia and a very bad customer service, having their representative send me to look for the small warding in the agreement. after 22 hours flight at 9pm.

The staff were very kind and helpful. The no smoking room had lingering smell of cigarettes. The nice plush towels smelled like cigarettes. 😥. The room even included an ash tray. There were horrible stains on the carpet. The bed was more comfortable than most chinese box springs. The room was huge. 2 tv's. Nice big bathroom and good water pressure.

I have stayed here for the Canton Fair several times and always receive good service and a warm welcome. The local area has many restaurants and small shops within 10 minutes walk however it is not too convenient for the Metro, however, during the Canton Fair the hotel provides a courtesy shuttle bus service.
One small gripe is that breakfast could do with being improved from a Western viewpoint.

The hotel is situated in a place not so vibrant and not many good services around. However, it is very accessible and taxis are available all the time. Food was 6/10, but I liked their laundry so much! They made me feel like my clothes were brand new in those plastic wrapping.

The lobby was decent however when you got into the room... There was a terrible smell and it was even on the bedding. Gross dirts on the carpet... And very limited space for parking... Went to three lots searching and waiting for parking space!

very good, 4 out of five about the cleanness of the room. over all it is a good one. But there are better, less expensive and even in a nicer neighborhood hotels. but it all depends on the location you desire.

It was a good and comfortable stay. Service was good and staff were really helpful.

The staff and hotel rooms were very nice and friendly. They were upbeat and welcoming even though my arrival was in the late evening. Checking in and checking out was easy as well. Jamie did a great job with assisting with everything I need in and around the hotel. All in all I had a great stay well recommended for anyone traveling through China.

Stay was nice. Receptionists are very cooperative. They know English. Always helpful. In breakfast no variation but quality is standard. Hope they may bring variation in the breakfast in future. In all respect this hotel is nice.

I had stayed here previously so knew the location to be great for the trade fair I was attending. Rooms are really large with very comfortable beds and the staff are friendly and accommodating

This hotel was chosen due to its proximity to the Canton Fair, only 15 minutes away on the courtesy bus.
Hotel was fine if a little jaded in areas, staff friendly and helpful but lacking in English, breakfast is adequate but lacks Western choices.
Others say there is little around the hotel but in reality only 5 minutes walk away ( behind the hotel ) are dozens of small shops and restaurants.
We will be back at this hotel.

Although hotel was well appointed it was not close to any transport and if you did not speak Chinese was very difficult to communicate, although staff did try. Well appointed for Chinese tourists and business people. No multi lingual tourist information.
