Sorry but my review will be a bit boring and overloaded with the excellent marks. We (a family with now 8 year old son) went there before, enjoyed our stay this time, and going to visit Aqua Dome again on our next vacation.
Everything in Aqua Dome feels just right: starting from the location (cozy corner in the charming Tirolean town -- small enough to be comfortable, big enough to provide whatever you may reasonably need) with great walking/hiking paths starting literally from the entrance door, up to the service level provided by the hotel's and pool/sauna staff (I do not know how but they manage to be very helpful and friendly without being obtrusive) - everything deserves only the highest marks.
Elegant and well tought-out rooms (you are expected to spend a lot of time in pool and sauna? so you need a convenient dryer for your swimming kit? here it is, of the proper size and smartly mounted at the convenient point of your bathroom - enjoy! balcony with the great views and spacious enough to put there proper armchairs and enjoy lazy afternoon - check! fridges with the local mineral water, colas and juices - find it smartly positioned near the entrance, so the staff member re-filling it does only the minimum disturbance).
Cleanliness as high that evem our Mom, the medical professional with a keen eye for any chance for germs, gets relaxed (we visited a lot of places before and Aqua Dome is probably the first time she had nothing to grump about). Food quality second to none (BTW, our only suggestion for the management is about food: it would be great to provide more information about the locally-surced products. You do provide labels on some, but not on all).
A separate kudos to Patrizia, the hiking guide. The local person, she has just a right mix of charisma, local knowledge, and tact (the ability to get silent in the right time and let you enjoy the moment) to make her a really great person in right position. I do recomment to join her group at least once, even if you're not a hiker (who knows? maybe you just did not try it propely?)
One of the best hotels we visited. Amazing rooms, awesome service from the staff, fine dining, great pools and children area, divine spa and sauna zone.
Too expensive for the quality of spa, thermal, rooms and specially food.
Thermal is for families so not very relaxing with many many kids jumping around.
Spa with only 3 sauna and very crowded. Also european style so everyone naked.
I dont recommend you spend your money in this place.
Spa and pools were great. Staff was extremely friendly and food was delicious.
amazing hotel
I visited this place in June 2025. I have to say the facility and the location deserves 5 star. That is where the good review ends. We stayed here three nights and we were very disappointed.
The hotel even though looks nice the rooms have no air conditioning. On top of that there is a towel warmer in the washroom that we could not turn off. We were dying in our room and after complaining they provided us with a fan. I guess if you looking for a sauna experience you can get in your own room. The place advertised as a spa, but you are not going to have that experience. Before you know it you'll be sharing the pool with toddlers being in the pool beside you in their diapers. Kids are jumping around you, splashing and screaming. The water is 36 degree C just bearly above body temperature, so you don't really get the thermal experience either. Staff allows the kids in the pool despite the signs posted " no children". They are however on you right away if you try to take a picture in the pool. It is not allowed for privacy reason.
The restaurant no better either.
There is a farm with cows beside the place, so there are plenty of flies as you will notice in the restaurant. The cheeses are inside a glass cabinet with flies flying around in it. There is no sneeze guard over the food, so it is out in the wide open.
You don't see any blue light either, at least try to capture the flies! We find this place bellow standard especially for the money they charge. Be prepared it is not a spa. It is more like a public pool.
My family and I stayed here for a week and overall it was lovely however there were some things which unfortunately let down the nature of this being a ‘4 star superior’ hotel.
I’ll start with the issues, as they were indeed small(er) things, but again it just took the shine of what was otherwise a lovely stay.
Firstly, we had booked a ‘Junior Suite Freiraum - with fireplace’ room which was lovely. The room was significantly large for the three of us and provided lots of space. The problem was that the hotel was carrying out some construction which we only found out about when we got into the room. There was no mention of it at check in and certainly no forewarning ahead of our arrival (either by email, or as a note on the website).
I understand that hotels will have periods where they are constructing or renovating, however with no warning it was rather upsetting to arrive and have that. It also meant that for the week our balcony was essentially unusable given the construction crew working directly outside of it and also being woken up by the construction crew coming in around 7:15am every day.
Secondly, we found out having booked some massages during our stay through their website/app (which was very good and informative), that if you’re spending the day at the resort as a guest in the thermal area, you get a free, whole day bus ticket for the entire Ötztal valley. Whilst you’re able to get day bus tickets each day you’re staying at the hotel, this is only sorted upon check in. Therefore having travelled by train to Ötztal Bahnhof, we then paid for the bus up to Längenfeld. To their credit, the hotel ended up refunding us the cost of the bus trip against our final hotel bill, however it seems illogical that they’ll offer free bus travel if coming as a day guest for the thermal spa, but not offer it in advance for hotel guests arriving.
The third smaller thing to mention, is that the hotel charges for water at dinner. For a 4 star superior hotel (and ultimately the price point that the hotel is at), this is simply inexcusable. What makes it even worse, is that water (alongside juices and even prosecco) is included at breakfast. For the Half Board rate, I wouldn’t be expecting drinks such as juices, or alcohol certainly to be included. But to charge for water is ridiculous, and it wasn’t even that small a charge:
Still water was €2.80 for 500ml and €3.80 for 1 litre or for sparkling water €3.80 for 500 ml or €5.80 for 1 litre.
Those three things unfortunately detracted somewhat from the stay however overall we had a lovely stay – the thermal spa is amazing, and the Spa 3000 area for hotel guests is lovely. Although, on the website it’s advertised as an ‘the award-winning premium wellness area only for hotel guests’, however note there can be non-hotel guests there who simply pay an upcharge on the thermal spa entry price to use it. So it’s not actually exclusive to hotel guests.
The food in the restaurant was amazing and there was always great choice available at both breakfast and dinner.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and following our child being ill one day, a number of different staff asked us the following day how she was, so the attentiveness is excellent.
Stayed here for 3 nights. We had a really good experience.
We were welcomed with a refreshing juice at reception. We had arrived early so our rooms were not ready but we had access to the spa and a locker. We made use of the spa facilities before heading to the room. The hotel and room was clean and well equipped.
Before I mentioned the breakfast and dinner me and my wife have a awkward dietary requirement whereby we are pure vegetarian and do not eat eggs onions and garlic.
Breakfast had good options for us and was clearly labelled with allergens so that made our life really easy for breakfast.
On the first evening we did have an issue with the restaurant for dinner whereby they didn't cater for us but after speaking with reception, on the second night the dinner was fully compliant to our dietary requirements. It was nice we had the same table for breakfast and dinner and the view outside was amazing!
What I was really impressed with was a "Morning Mail" whereby all the information for the day was available to us. We booked guided hikes to a nearby suspension bridge and a hike to a view platform that overlooked hotel. The view was amazing and well worth it! We also had the option of hiring electric bikes and going on a guided bike tour.
Overall we would recommend this hotel spa and would consider going back when my kids are a little older.
Yes its expensive but when you consider the location, the views and the facilities we both think it was worth it!
Ich liebe dieses Hotel – komme immer wieder gern! Perfekt zum Entspannen, mit leckerem Essen, freundlichem Personal, einem grosszügigen Spa-Bereich und herrlicher Natur rundherum.
Unbelivable hotel and SPA
High maintenance, very clean and comfort.
The staff is wonderfull and the food is amaizing!
Gloria Bukal I appreciate your respond to my review that I posted yesterday.
I believe our room number was 416. We have tried SPA 300 however we didn't find anything special there other than a small pool and relaxing area, we also wanted to enjoy the outdoors, fresh air and the view. I understand that Aqua Dome is family oriented and that's great but children shouldn't use the 3 outdoor floating bowls at least and the water should be much warmer to provide a more relaxing and luxuries spa experience. Children were also using the adult indoor only pool and nothing was done about it. Water at breakfast was free and I'm not sure why it can not be the same at dinner time, is it not the same water? The price we pay we would at least expect complementary water with dinner. Many times temperature is in the high thirties and forties now days and just opening the window is not enough to cool the room off. Now days A/C is a necessity and not a luxury. I think it come down to that the resort is expensive and you would expect more for your money.
Amazing! Was there 2 nights and still didn't experience the whole place. Will absolutely come back! Highly recommend the stay and the food was divine. I would recommend brushing up on your German as there were few English speakers (though those that did were very accommodating) and signage was not very direct. A must see/stay!
Amazing hotel and spa facilities with beautiful views.
Excellent place to relax and enjoy the nature as well as what the hotel has to offer
The good- the room was nice. I thought the more expensive room faces the bowls and mountains but I was incorrect. The alpine rooms face the mountain and the other side you can’t see much and it’s under construction at this time. If I got that view I would be flipping.
The dinner is excellent. I had fish, gnocchi, ox on the 2 days I was there. I wish I could
Eat it all. They do charge you for a jug of water. So get the wine. They charge for all
Drinks.
The bar/lounge area is great. We had entertainment singers and they were beautiful on a Friday night.
The small bubbly pools on 4th floor of spa are the best and then you can go to sauna and then relax in relaxing area. This was my favorite.
The not so good-
This place is HUGE assuming you’re going to spa. You have to go to another elevator, spirally underground corridor to get there. You are going to get lost between floors and where things are located EVEN WITH A MAP. I was on a solo trip and I’m not going to lie-I was creeped out. I didn’t think anything bad would happen, but I went to spa bowls at night and I got lost in the maze of floors and how to get back to hotel. And you’re alone because not many people are at spa at 9pm.
To get to bowls-swim by the ground floor pool or use the right or left door and walk there along pool. Another creepy thing to do especially at night. I was the only one I saw walking. I didn’t want to swim there.
Not sure if there’s sulfuric water-I didn’t smell
Anything.
I didn’t get to do half the stuff available because I just didn’t know where it was. I tried the smelling spa but it was always booked.
THEY should give you detailed directions on how to get there. And at the price you pay for the night, there should be an introductory video explaining in detail how to get to certain things, sign up for things etc.
Superbe endroit spa et sauna sont top
Food quality was average
Very dissapointing exeperience.
We travel here for the fourth time but now it was the last.
The service was awful, the food really didn t have any taste and in the kids corner the food was the same 3 days in a row.
In the first day they give us a table and in the other day they moved it in an other place.
We were also with friends here and wanted to eat togheter but they didn t care.
I spoke with the manager and he had a very bad attitude, like he didn t care ( it was the bald man with glasses ).
The breakfast was good.
Despite the fact we had 3 rooms when we checked out nobody didn t even ask me how was everything.
They just don t care anymore.
Avoid this hotel, for us it was the last time.
We paid a fortune for a suite with a fireplace for that romantic experience in the snow capped mountains. But unfortunately the room was kept at such a high temperature (our individual thermastat was ineffective) a fire was a ridiculous notion. The food was reasonably good although they sat every meal at a table so small it felt like the children’s table and for a man of 6 foot four this wasn’t very comfortable.
A highlight was the live saxophone player at the bar on the first night we arrived and the bar staff were excellent and very attentive .
Disappointing was the fact to use the spa itself required the payment of additional money and considering the vast amount we had already paid it was it seem ridiculous to fork out more money on top of our initial investment.
The accommodation does not represent value for money and we were not on a budget holiday but no one likes to be ripped off .
